Hey bought the same bike up here in Canada, lost my fob while riding...pocket was open, not smart lol but only got one fob from the dealership when i bought it new and they cost just under 700, not cheap but you can actually start the bike with out the fob. just need to have the red key card you got with all your papers, should have 6 numbers. hold ignition switch in till you see orange light, release and hold again for total of 3. light will come on for a few seconds, after it turns off, hold switch in and count the flashes, release when you counted the first number on key card, push in and hold for the next sequence, and so on.
Far out man really stepped up the production with this one, love the wandering camera and chatting to the camera front and center, can’t wait for a longer video with a mix of this and riding also 👍👍 love the work bro
@@INFAMASbro I remember loading up TH-cam on my Xbox about 8 years ago and watched your gta motovlogs and I’d do the same myself on gta , I was amazed the fact me finding out you’re also Hobart based in the vid where you got rear ended on your Kawasaki been a fan a long time and am currently 23 still yet to get my bike licence 😅 needa get onto it real soon 👍👍
I just purchased a 2024 SP, and while it's a fantastic motorcycle, the keyless ignition is the only part I don't like, but the SP isn't my first keyless motorcycle. I purchased a new Ducati Multistrada back in 2011 and it was keyless. I did have a fob battery die on me, but luckily I was was able to purchase another quicky. I will definitely keep a spare battery with me. The good part about the Ducati backup starting code was that you could select your own number which made it easier to remember, plus, it was only four digits and was easier to enter as compared to the Yamaha. With the Yamaha, you have to use their preset code for an emergency start and it's alot more time consuming and complicated to enter. I only received one fob with my SP. Maybe that's a USA market thing, but I'll have to look into that. The bottom line is that, though I'm not a fan of keyless, the SP is worth owning regardless.
If the key is not kept in range you don't have to switch it off, In case the battery ever dies or the key is lost there is an emergency unlock procedure that can be performed with the red key code that was provided with the bike
Thanks for the info pal 👍 I went to have a look at my MT-09 SP and can't collect it until September 7th since I decided to wait for the new reg plates.
I think it;' cool. Keyless ignitions is all you get in new cars ....for a while now so motorcycle people really shouldn't be shocked. Now I have a hybrid car and do run into some issues bc when you stop, the hybrid immedietely goes into electric mode - no engine noise and sometimes, I forget the car is on when I leave. course the car dings several times when you do that
Considering 98% of theives use a screwdriver to unlock bikes, you will find a lot less FOB bikes getting stolen. The FOBs also last multiple years, and you get 2 of them. And Yamaha will replace the battery for free... so is it really an inconvenience?
Why do you say Yamaha doesnt tell you? When you went through the manual and all the info was in there about it. You want them to come to your house and break it down for you?

Had keyless on my Superduke for nearly 4 years, no issues, just carry a spare battery with you 😊
haven't even watched it yet but thank you I've been wanting to know this stuff cause I'm about to go get a 24 09sp for myself
It'll be good information to know before you get it! I didn't know any of this when I first got it haha

Did everyone else get two key fobs? Cause the dealership that I got mine from said it only came with one
Mine came with 1 as well, it’s normal
That's doesn't sound normal lol
Not normal, it's meant to come with 2!
@@INFAMAS I guess it depends on the country, where I live we get one key only, sadly.
Im also only aware of getting one fob and 1 key code to unlock the bike for emergencies.
Superb video. Very informative. Have just received my bike & have only been given one keyless fob. Should I have two? Cheers!
Apparently some people are only getting 1, so don't stress!
Thanks for the kind words!!
I just picked up this bike is there a specific way to lock the steering rack it won't go into lock position for me
Have your key fob on you. And wiggle the bars back and forth
Thanks I wasn't aligning the pin correctly @INFAMAS
The keyfob will automatically turn off after 9 days of not being used (per Owner's Manual)
Yep! Forgot to say that part
Seems good.
Kudos to yamaha for making it easier to steal
And creating another battery powered device to worry about

Why worry so much when Yamaha already build Nmax, Xmax and Tmax for longer of times? The keyless technology is from those scooter

The Yamaha dealership.
bro thats my idea😑 i want credits.. pin this comment and we're good 😂
I had a few people ask this question, but I do remember you asking!
@@INFAMAS hahaha lovely😂
Yamaha told me literally everything about the key when I got this bike. My Yamaha is better than your Yamaha 😜😂
