Another "hidden" feature is that behind the front headlight housing there are three connectors. 2x connectors for Heated Grips, which when setup properly will integrate with the dashboard controls. You can use any aftermarket heated grips and they do not have to be Yamaha brand. You just need the 2 prong Yamaha MT-09 turn signal connectors to splice into your heated grips, or you can splice directly into the wires in the headlight unit. 1x connector for running Auxiliary lights or a USB hub
@@AzzBarnes nice! Part of me wishes I would've bought the Oxford "Heaterz Sports" instead of the Oxford "Pro Sports". I do like the ones I got, but they're not integrated with the dash controls. They're pretty nice though, it's just a button built into the left grip for the three heat levels. If I would've got the "Heaterz", I could've wired into the dash. I may get them later on but for now the Pro Sports work well. Don't have to worry about messing with dash controls for now I suppose
@@thasherm ah I didn't realise that, I just wanted heated hand grips that would integrate with my '21 SP & so got those but the dash control on the Gen 3 isn't great so I wouldn't really have worried if I couldn't get integrated. The charging Quad lock mount on my handlebars was essential and I couldn't be without it
The handle adjust by taking it off and turning the risers 180 degrees. The handle bar risers are offset. This will push them 10mm more forward and higher as well. The emergency lights flash for me when I brake super hard, but I’m usually going much faster coming into corners than what you were doing in the parking lot, so maybe they only activate over say 30kph or something.
@@INFAMAS On the MT09 3rd gen the risers were 2 pieces so underneath the clamp you can remove the riser / spacer which puts you lower around 2cm that's how you get lower. I can send you a link to a youtube video if you want :)
@bambamSalerno and @INFAMAS I am new to the topic, so I apologize the ignorance. Putting the feet stand higher makes it feel more sporty. I know that mt09 2024 has lower handle bar than 2023 to makes it feel more sporty as well. What is the effect of moving forward and higher ? more sporty or more comfy?
@@stekizz5376 i know you didn't ask me :D but I think to know the answer to your question. If you put your bar Higher it usual means more comfy whilst lower means more sporty oriented. Forward usual means more sporty bevause you get more stretched thus you automatically put more weight on your front wheel, while moving the bars behind lets you sit more upright, thus you sit more comfy. Hope that was what you mean
I just loosened the bars and rotated them to the position that felt better and higher. I come from riding dirt bikes and supermotos my whole life so love that feeling. ❤ And yes you just loosen and rotate the levers and whatever els too. Real easy did it on all the supermotos I’ve built I would bet money that’s all the dealer will do unless they give you new bars or riser adapters.

The bar risers rotate so the bars move forward or backward. You have to adjust the shift lever when you move the rearsets because your foot will sit at a different angle. I'm 6'3" and the bars in the forward position made the bike not feel like riding a penny farthing. I thoroughly recommend it.
@INFAMAS I have the Yamaha MyRide app, Yamaha Y-Connect app, and Garmin StreetCross apps. When I go to connect my phone to my bike my phone shows two of the same names that pop up for my bike but when I try either one it will show the pair process then say connection failed but it will show my phone in the Bluetooth devices list on my bike. It just won't connect. I'll try again starting with the Y-Connect app and see what happens this time. Besides this issue I absolutely LOVE this bike!!!
Hi there. Sorry unrelated question but I noticed you’ve installed the Yamaha side tank pads. I recently met another MT-09SP (2023 model) owner who had some ‘slippage’ of the pads and a black gluey mess on the side of the tank. Have you experienced this? They look great and I want to buy some but not if they don’t adhere/stick to the tank properly. Thanks for the video and any advice.
I have seen that too. I have had them on for 1400km with no slippage yet. The dealership put them on for me, so if that happens I'll take it to them to deal with hahah
@@INFAMAS Thanks for quick reply. Good the pads have not moved. I just purchased a 2024 MT-09SP and keen for videos focusing specifically on suspension. I ride ‘B’ roads around Hobart and find the bike a bit too firm. I would love to know if you have experienced this and how you have tuned your suspension. Take care.
I just chose to accept that double sided tape will always have some variability. I personally treat mine as consumable. In summer it heats up enough that it has no chance of staying in place so I replace it.
Nice bike, the non sp mt09 will be my next bike doing a test ride next week, very excited, but one question im 6 feet 3 aswell. Does the bike still look good when us tall people are sitting on it? My first bike was a mt07 and it looked tiny haha.
