I can't believe you haven't had washer dryers in the US as they've been available in the UK since the 1950s. Do not buy a washer/dryer combo as they don't last as long as washing machines and dryers and engineers hate repairing them. And the stove being on all the while - look up the Aga.
Is North America also behind on washer dryers? Pretty sure it's been around for a long time. I also thought LG was a household name, is Sam getting out of touch 😂
I was supprised on US washer/dryer appliance shortage 😮 here in Europe having this in single appliance is already a standard 👍 I have one for 5 years now with 10 year warranty and works perfect and it's great for bathrooms with tight space. But I heard that sales margins are really low on this devices in comparison with selling washer and dryer individually.

One of the biggest sleepy businesses.. TRUE CLASSIC, it's just plain ordinary T-shirt yet the sell millions of them 😮 Their marketing strategies are amazing
RE: washer/dryers lack of innovation - it's because you are in the US. You have bigger houses compared to most of the world and access to cheap energy, so efficiency in appliances isn't important for you, therefore there are no strong incentives to change things. Also there are customer preferences and habits - you guys have a particular taste when it comes to stuff. Heat pump-based combo units have already become popular in many other places, but in the US, they still feel like a new concept. In general, when it comes to innovation, there are several areas where the US is lagging, despite leading in others. Banking and payment systems are a prime example of this.
I bought a bunch of VR domain names related to sports a while back in case that ever took off lol. But how sick would it be if you could watch the Stanley Cup for example from the perspective of someone on the bench of one of the teams? Or watching the Super Bowl from the sidelines?
You could get an industrial dishwasher. Some thing that restaurants would use. Those can fit big pots and pans most of the time. You’d have to spend a lot of money on a new sink set up though.
on the home appliances - I would think one of the major issues is also they are not very complex. So one company makes a innovation through "money-ball" or hiring to invent/produce a new line of x. The next company knocks it off with no cost of innovation. I would feel patients in the space would be difficult unless the innovation was crazy. Doing something just better, cheaper, or more effective would have the next company doing the same quickly.
My Hexclad (bought from Costco) has started deteriorating..The coating of couple of pans has started coming out and also as per @mamavation this has some harmful chemicals
I paused and commented the copycat, death of a thousand companies semi-argument, I hit play and Shaan says - but its not rocket science, or electric cars - its non-stick pans xD
thanks for the shout out, babes

Sam don't buy hexclad. Any pan with any coating has chemicals, period...use stainless steel and cast iron please. Blue carbon also a great choice
Or ceramic pans - the "chemicals" you refer to is mainly because of the non-stick pans containing PFAS

Yes, especially as they dug into forever chemicals in a past episode
Your skin is made of chemicals. So is your blood. Do you plan to get rid of them any time soon?
Go All Clad, Lodge, or LeCreuset. All the others have chemicals or fall apart in short order.
The ONLY show I don’t listen to on 1.5x speed. Iykyk👏🏼😂

They have had combined washer/dryers in Europe for decades.

Combo washer dryers have been common in Europe since the last 20 years.
Longer than that even

Yeah they had me confused when they were acting like this was some sort of new concept 😂

Screw the 2-1 warsher/dryer....I want a dishwasher that can clean the big pots and pans....why are we still handwashing these??

Because you too stupido to put your pans and pots in a dishwasher...? I guess... I can't imagine any other reason.
