Thank you for the video. I have read that the grand opening is tentatively scheduled for September. They want all four businesses on the pier to be up and running before they have the grand opening ceremony. Oddly enough, I was on the old pier a couple of weeks before Matthew washed half of it away. I will now be there in early October, a few weeks (hopefully) after the grand opening.
Yes as we mentioned they do plan to have the businesses open by September. I was actually surprised it's taking until September for that one restaurant to open.
well it looks nice and well built, but its going to be pricey to visit or fish on. i cant believe many will pay to walk on it. thanks for the videos. long time coming to see this completed
Wow. I barely remember that amusement park from my grade school summer vacation days. I remember the first year I vacationed there my dad took me to it as the condo we rented was just south of it, I think I was 8. Then Hugo washed it away before I ever got a chance to go back to it. Shortly after, I remember the Days Inn being built (Surfside Beach Oceanfront Hotel), and that the pier used to have arcade games on it, and also another small building closer to the road had arcade games (approx Pizza Hyena). There also used to be a small parking lot between 3rd and 4th Ave South, and then it was a small sailboat/catamaran parking lot for a few years before becoming a bunch of new beach houses (Portfino's?) Lastly I remember every year I would get an inflatable body sized raft that had the Surfside Beach seagulls logo on one side with a white background and all navy blue on the other side for kind of boogie boarding in the ocean. Thank you for bringing back those nostalgic childhood memories.

Yup it really is! I'm looking forward to going back when more is open and the weather is warmer! :)
Do you know if they are fishing on Surfside pier now, we are coming down in June
Looks like Perry's bait & tackle shop opened yesterday, and they said that fishing would start after that opened.
Is there an arcade there I know they said something about it..
There's an arcade at the Garden City Pier, about 2.5 miles down the road.
❤❤❤

Hey 👋
Hello!👋
I can see the lack of an amusement park.... Oh the memories
Now that was a long time ago! Glad you have happy memories!
