I lived in Myrtle Beach from 1986-1989 on 3rd Avenue North and worked at the Mall at The Pottery. I can’t believe the Pottery and the Malls have been torn down. Been to Surfside Beach and Garden City several times with relatives who lived there. Lots has changed in 35 years. Myrtle is always beautiful. I live on the Gulf-coast near Galveston in Texas. Not ANYWHERE AS BEAUTIFUL AS SC. Love your channel. Thanks for all you do.
Lots of old memories of 1960's family vacations in Surfside Beach. I still remember the old pier and the arcade, along with a few carnival rides. Thanks Carmen and Brian
Great video, its great to see this pier open after so much delay for the people of surfside beach. beautiful pier, kinda narrow, but nice. glad to see all the vacationers having fun in the beautiful weather. great times for vacations for families for sure. thanks for posting Larry
I love how that's considered a busy Holiday weekend at the beach. Yes, there are a lot of people there, but it's also such a long stretch of beach, the people are able to be spread out. Some of the beaches up this way are not anywhere near that long, so you get concentrations like you saw next to the pier, for almost the entire stretch of beach, and going from the tide line, back to almost the beach access. Hampton Beach in New Hampshire can especially be like that. And that's on a normal weekend. Everything I see in these videos makes me more and more excited with the idea of moving down there eventually.
Just had to let you guys know this! Just watched a video titled’ Beach Cove unit 1605.’ As they were panning around the room you could see one of your videos on the TV! We got very excited and had to tell you! It was one of your NMB videos. So cool!
my cousin Jason is in with properties by the beach realty in Myrtle Beach..ty for sharing this edit i used to go to Myrtle Beach every summer growing up we lived in Irmo area
My family and I are just now learning about this new pier! We are so excited about coming there! We moved to Aynor, SC about a year ago and we are STILL learning about all the surrounding beaches!! Our son is in a wheelchair and we are constantly on the lookout for the best places that have free access to a BEACH WHEELCHAIR. ??? So, wondering if this pier has one to use. Thanks!
Great video as always! We just had a trip down in May. But we are planning a second trip to start late September into early October. How is the weather at that time? Still plenty warm for beach days?
@@CarmenandBrian One more question. We were there during the spring bike rally and it wasn’t too noisy or crowded for us or anything. We stay in NMB. The dates we are looking at for fall are during Fall Bike Week. How is that bike week for crowds, traffic etc? Thank you! 😊
Gardencity reality is the best when renting a place at surfside/garden city areas as you can pay a down payment between 90-150 and pay monthly as our places is The Royal Gardens and Atalaya Towers and also dunesreality works too
My sons who are teenagers are interested in fishing off of a pier when we go to MB in August. Which pier would you most recommend to try some fishing? 🎣 😃
If you don't mind driving a little bit south, the new Surfside Beach pier that just opened is really nice. You may know this but no matter what pier they fish off of, they need to stop at the pier and pay a fee. That fee covers them so they do not need a South Carolina fishing license. for now I would stay away from the Myrtle Beach State Park pier. They still have the end closed off due to hurricane damage.
Check out our review of the River City Cafe that's right next to the pier here: th-cam.com/video/jgaBnaYMnak/w-d-xo.html

Thanks for the update, we will be there in a couple of weeks 😊
Have a great trip!🌴😎
While one enjoys ones long Memorial weekend, take a moment and remember the fallen
Love MB ❤️
Absolutely!🇺🇸
This pier looks so nice and wide, and I love the shady sitting area. Looks so much nicer and more spacious than the 2nd Ave pier.
It's definitely the nicest pier in the area now!

Springmaid Pier is the only pier I have been to on Myrtle Beach, that new Surfside pier is beautiful
It really is!
Great video! Can't wait to get back!

I've never visited surf side beach before

I have not seen one there, but it doesn't mean it's not there somewhere stored. I would contact the pier directly to ask or check with the city.
Great video as always!

Yes we love September and early October. Usually plenty warm & warm enough to swim in the ocean. Later Oct we start having chilly days.

Did you see anyone catching any fish? It's a nice-looking pier
Did not see anyone pull up a fish while we were there but we didn't linger.

Nice! thanks for sharing!
It isn't Drippy's only location, they have locations in Garden City on Hwy 17 Business, and Atlantic Avenue and of course the one on the pier
Thanks for sharing!
Can we purchase a State fishing license from the pier?
I don't know, I would call Perry's bait and tackle and check with them.
