    You can use a "blank" smooth brush with sculptris pro, instead.
    Just create another smooth brush with 0 intensity, with Sculptris Pro is becomes some sort of mesh density raiser, without actually getting rid of any detail.

    Have used that workflow for some time now. A tip : If you first do a "ProjectAll" after having UNmasked the added resolution, then you'll have to do less work with the ZProject brush. :D

    Hey, I really love the videos they're some of the greatest tutorials I see on TH-cam right now.
    I got a question, if you don't mind. I think you guys said adding a piece you created from a tutorial is generally bad, because all it shows is that you can follow a tutorial, and is not indicative of any actual talent.
    I recently bought a pretty cool book about character creation in Maya that takes you through creating this one character, and it goes through modelling, rigging, UV unwrapping, load Dev, and even some basic animation. I love it, and it's a great purchase.
    Would you still say it's a bad idea to include a piece like that in your demoreel? Because the book provides reference images of a man to model, and I was thinking of using their reference images because of how high quality it is, and how hard it would be to get my own reference image (need to rent a camera, possibly a studio, and even then it still wouldn't look as good as theirs)
    Thanks for reading, and I fucking love the videos. Really helpful stuff, your modelling a Maya pen really thought me a lot of stuff my teacher hasn't told me.

    I was about to ask why you wouldn’t just unmask the eye area and run project all.. when you mentioned the option.

    What’s the use of this vs decimation? Esp since sculptris triangulates too

    Hi! I was wondering if you could make a video about creating FACS blendshapes for production? There is not much stuff about this topic and it would be very useful for less experienced folks. Thanks!

    So can this be used for things like transferring 'big swings' between models, i.e. cutting a key with a dynamesh model and more or less just pushing the shape of the key join on a more optimized but lower resolution copy? If not, is there a better way to key models for 3D printing without dynamesh on complex models? I've watched the tuts on merging simple geometry like 2 spheres or hands/heads/ankles where the mesh is fairly easy to work with, but it doesn't work so well with complex shapes. Currently I'm keying in dynamesh and cutting the keyed intersections off the models then stitching them in Blender by hand so complex/organic shapes retain details. I'm sure there's a better way, I just don't know it. Booleans in Blender are making my computer freeze on high poly models where I've already done the hard work and really just want to separate them for print. In the future I'll work keying in to my process, but I've got a few models I'm too far down the road with and have to improvise.

      @C-M-E 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Disregard, got my answer. Works well enough for my purposes! Needs fairly significant postwork for smoothing and such but it's still a one-app solution and miles quicker than manual stitching. I'll take it!

    Great video, guys. Bit of an off-topic question if you have a second: What kind of computer hardware are you using in the video here? I'm currently on consumer-grade stuff like a GTX 1080 ti and 7700k and I was wondering if that's adequate for Zbrush or if I'm going to have a bad time until I invest in a Quadro, thanks.

    • @FlippedNormals
      @FlippedNormals  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      For ZBrush, the graphics card really doesnt matter - it's mostly CPU :)

      @@FlippedNormals Ah very good thank you for the reply, what kind of a CPU are you using for that video? Would I suffer using a 4core-8thread 7700K @ 5.0Ghz?

    It's unclear which one is the "target" and which one is the "source" mesh. Kind of important.

    Try the original sculptris (not built into the zbrush) and don't suffer. It has normal smoothing and brushes are an order of magnitude superior to those that I have

    Welp....i know You aren't ZB cowboy but Sculptris pro is very basic feature and nothing "brain exploding" here. You miss Brush Panel -> sculptris Pro setting to tweak a little bit that tool, to make it less pain in ass.
