@@jesuswithoutreligionno thats not what im going into, i just ask do you have some solid discord server that has believers in them. Not roys reprobates.
@@sasiedzipatimat sorry, I don't know if there were typos, but I'm having some difficulty understanding your question. As you used the word ‘reprobate’ I assume it is possible you might be addressing Romans 1:28 “God gave them over to a reprobate mind”. A lot of people completely take that verse out of context and apply it to believers. As believers, God has written His desires on our mind. We have new hearts and new desires. He will never leave us or forsake us. He's definitely not turning us over to reprobate mind. In Romans 1 we do read quite a bit about outward sin, but we can’t overlook the part where this group of people did NOT acknowledge God. They were unbelievers. While we all stumble in many ways, ALL believers acknowledge God. My apologies if I'm not understanding your question.
@@jesuswithoutreligion No worries, i was talking about roys (repent-of-your-sins-to-be-saved-heretics) who promote this mixed message on those servers. I just want to find a discord where its not that. I do not think that believers can be a reprobate. They can never lose salvation so that makes sense.
@@sasiedzipatimat Correct. I would be a terrible teacher if I was condoning a life of sin, however, I strongly agree that no one is saved because they "repent of their outward sins". In 100% of the cases where the New Testament talks about "repent and believe" it is addressing Jewish people who have a specific sin leading to death. The sin of unbelief. So what the actual context to them is that they need to repent of their unbelief and believe that Jesus is who he says he is.

My friend, I have no idea where you heard this doctrine, but it’s one I would run from if I were you. God is not interested in 'defeating' His children. What you are implying is that when we sin, he would rather punish us, and that’s the opposite of what the gospel teaches us. Jesus has already taken the punishment. And when believers sein, the heart of God is to build us up, and teach us, and counsel us. Put differently. God’s response is not punishment for past sins, but rather training for future living. The will of God, is that you believe. Believe that Jesus died for our sins. That he took them away. He has the power and the authority to do that. Believe that he took all the punishment on his shoulders. That whosoever will believe in him will not perish but have everlasting life. In 1 Corinthians we see a group of people committing insane amount of sins. Yet we don’t need a single line about them being defeated. Instead, they are told they will be presented as blameless in the end. That they like no spiritual gift. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. Respectfully, reading your comments, suggest that you do not believe Jesus is the propitiation for our sin. Propitiation means to satisfy a deity. Your comment sounds more like that of an old testament Jewish man under the law. Zero Grace. You’re entitled to believe that way, it’s just not something that I personally subscribe to or welcome without a response. I think it's important that you know, what Jesus did for you on the cross was not just die. He literally shed his blood for your sins so you don't have to. He made right with God. He justified you. He sanctified you. You are now the righteousness of Christ, even when you make bad choices. God promised he will remember your sins no more. If he is defeating you when you make bad decisions, and he clearly would be remembering your sin. I hope that you will reconsider your position and put more confidence in Him, and less in yourself.
Great question! Matthew 6: 24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. First, it’s important keep in mind this is the sermon on the mount. If you haven’t heard my video explanation on that, I would encourage you to listen to that today to put some context on what’s going on here. I will post it below. The short answer is, this is before Christ has died, before He has been resurrected, and the new covenant has NOT yet been enacted. He’s preaching to Jewish people, under the law. Rewind a little bit, and you can see the context here is about their showing off everything they’re doing, including with their money. He’s telling them not store up treasures on earth, tell him to hide their fasting and stop making it so everyone knows that they’re doing it, he’s telling them to hide their giving and stop being arrogant about it, he’s telling them to hide their praying, and stop showing off in public. Essentially, Jesus systematically proving that these guys are a bunch of hypocrites. Remember, Jesus has even referred to them as clean on the outside, but rotten on the inside. They are not showing affections for God, but rather trying to impress man. So these Jewish leaders think they are doing an awesome job. And I believe Jesus is showing them they all fall short of the true standard of God. Looking with lust, same as adultery. God's standard is much higher than theirs. So he’s pointing out that these guys are not nearly as awesome as they think they are. Yes, he’s showing them that they can’t serve two masters. But this is not intended to be some in our face guilt trip for Christians today. If Christ is in you, you cannot serve anyone, but Christ. The Jewish people did not have Christ living in them. Their sins were not paid for through the blood of Jesus. They required annual sacrifices year after year, but with Jesus died that would be his one, and only sacrifice because he was the total and perfect propitiation for sins. And I’m not saying that we should all just be greedy and hoard up our money. By no means. Let’s give from the heart.. Let’s give where there’s need. But this letter is not being written to people with Christ, living in them. It’s being written to Jewish people, under the law. People who think their performance is what makes them right with God. So essentially, I’m saying the point of this letters is not to make a believing Christian feel guilty and question ourselves. It’s showing Jewish man who is chasing after the law how hopeless he is trying to be made with God through their outward systems. And showing them what hypocrites they are with all the things they do in public so everyone can see them. In verse 24 He also said he would love one, and hate the other. It's not possible for believers to hate Jesus. Eps 6:24 'Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love.' So, if your love for him is incorruptible, you don't need to worry about being the guy hates him because he bought a nice boat or something :) It was a little difficult to answer this in a quick comment.
