Sold everything when I sold my house iam pretty free I can go anywhere anytime amd the money I do make goes to my kid and old folks .my life is pretty good.
After 54yrs of caring for others and having to live in a big city, I now live off grid in a cabin. (30m x 30m). The woodlands are right beside me. I have solar power, a wind turbine will be next. ( it is Scotland 🏴 after all 😊 ). Rain water is collected and i’m planning for my veg garden for next year. I have no tv ( bliss ) and only patchy internet ( more bliss). Mostly it’s quiet apart from the bird song. This has been my most contented and relaxed I’ve ever been in my 66 years of life and a time that I’ve had the least possessions and conveniences. Okay must go and get on with my guitar practice. Apparently you’re never too old blah blah. All the Very best to all on here. 💚
I should mention I started planning to do this in the UK where I live but first thing I found out is that you can't build in woodland (even if you own it) a cabin you intend to live in... Someone suggested Scotland so thought I'd ask how "easy" this was to set up for you
Ask yourself "Do I need this or do I want this?" Need is essential - air, water, food, clothing, shelter, income. Want is the luxury after needs have been met.
I've been living a simple life for a long time. The wrong people interrupt my life at times and it can cause me to become frustrated. I chose carefully the friends I keep.
It's great to hear that you're committed to living a simple life. Choosing your friends carefully is a wise approach that can help maintain the tranquility and simplicity you're striving for. 🌞
I am 70 years old. When I was in my thirties and forties and early fifties I was very energetic. I built two houses, had a career, raised a family and life was anything but simple. However, I was extremely happy! Now I am older and I choose to live a much simpler life. I am very happy!😊

I started my minimalist journey about a year ago. I began slowly getting rid of things, but after a while, I noticed that I still had a lot of clutter. I found myself constantly cleaning and rearranging my room in an attempt to find comfort. Recently, I got tired of it all and decided to get rid of everything. Now, I'm starting over.

Like your favorite picture etc. Though it can bring comfort, it eventually causes "more" : cleaning, debt, or being tied down. Think I was led to your video because of my contemplating letting go of a house, having a car, material stuff that now feels like a burden. Want to let go of my house, furniture, car etc and live my last years in a country that values life, nature. Enjoyed your video and was led to it for a reason. Thanks!

❤❤❤ this so true! Once you have your life in order, there is clarity beyond words and one can focus. This video was a great reminder that LESS really is MORE!

I own an enormous collection of DVDs and books. Huge libraries. They’re my pride and joy. Got a great TV, surround sound, lovely sofa, bed. Really nice lighting. A great desk lamp, some nice trainers, amazing artwork around the house. Worked hard for all these things and I bloomin love it all. Far happier with all that than without.
That's interesting. Is your collection complete yet? If so, then I can totally understand how you might find more happiness in that environment than without it, but if your collection is constantly growing then by definition you aren't content with your belongings and must be experiencing constant stress. This observation isn't a judgmental thing. It's just the way those things work in tandem in everyone. You either find contentment and thus a sense of peace, or discontentment and a lack of peace. Maybe that doesn't take away from your definition of happiness, but I think it's safe to say that most people would. I don't know you or the life you are living, but I do know that there is substantial wisdom in seeking simplicity. Some people claim that seeking a minimal approach only happens in wealthy societies but that is far from the truth. Most sources of inspiration for that kind of living come from humble places. Folks who had great wealth and gave it away, folks who simply reflected on the cost of pursuing things, and all sorts of others have attested to the freeing effect of less. Again, I don't know you, so I wouldn't begin to say you should give up your things or anything of the like, but I'm pretty confident you would like what you had left over if you reduced the libraries to essentials.
@ yeah as you say, different people seek different things. Different ways of life. I live to consume as many experiences and as much media as I can. If I’m asked to rest, relax or meditate for more than a day here and there, I will go crazy. I will be madly discontented, I’ll be angry and agitated. If I’m allowed to experience and consume all I can in life, I feel alive, happy and content. Minimalism is bliss for some and hell for others. That’s the nature of how people are born with different personalities. There is no universal truth to happiness, it is purely subjective.
List everything you want, including things you want to do. Circle the top 2-3 things and cut the rest. These are your priorities. We all want a lot, but living our true lives begins with knowing where we value most going next.
Beautiful.... My last twenty two years have been full of stress and tensions... I've seen the worst of times... But now onwards, taking a leaf of wisdom after watching this LESS IS MORE video, I feel literally energised and ready to steer my ship with clarity and calmness...❤❤❤
Oh yes! Lived the minimal life and going back to it packed 6 bags this weekend to give away. Getting rid of everything that i can. Its my freedom. My life. ☺ love this. 🙏 thank you your words hit home. Blessings to you.
I too am contemplating getting rid of everything, packing a few bags and with my elderly cat, move to another country. Want to find a place with less drama, less materialistic ideas, but have a better quality of life. Lived in Europe/ Spain and my best memories are strolling down the streets, watching other families hand in hand, and at night, sitting at an outdoor cafe with friends, or just going to one of their many parks, sitting and watching others, occasionally conversing with someone. No car, no TV, but taking in a different culture that enriched me forever.
Simplicity, minimalism, etc. all are tools which will work just for some time. Then you get bored, you get to see your old friend and start getting back to old days. We have inner sadness because we know we will die someday, and we don't know when. Whoever is here looking for a solution, find yourself something that will make you comfortable about death. You can pretend to be OK until start losing loved ones around you...
Less stuff definitely can mean more freedom. Keep watching to see how it all unfolds and to find out more about the philosophy behind it. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!🌞
Truth! Who really needs more than a 3 bedroom 2 bath house?😆 Who really needs to drive more than a Camry or a Corolla?😆 Anything more than these simple things is simply excess.🤷🏼 When I read about all these cars and houses that the rich buy, I always get a good laugh out of it, because it’s ALWAYS only excess.😆
I would love to not have to pay a mortgage to live in a home. Renting comes with a lot of issues and instabilities. But because I have a mortgage, I have to work in a job that gives me a lot of stress. It's being caught in this cycle that makes me feel so awful. I live very simply already. Clothes and shoes I have been wearing for many years, a cellphone I've been using for 5 years, a laptop I've been using for 12 years, a second hand beater for commuting, no makeup or skin care products, no vacations because money needs to go to the mortgage. I bring a lunch to work 99% of the time. My two cats are my luxury though.
I would say do what truly makes sense to you. Because in general very few things makes sense to an individual.. For some it could be money, others it could be just chilling or roaming around in nature.. The idea is to stick with what you want.. I know people who makes lakhs and still stay frugal because you know, here they are being stick to the idea that theyy just want to save & be financially secure.. No matter what people say, just be you..
Wow, you are brave. I am almost at that point but continue to sell all I can. Strangely enough, no one wants my "junk" or "stuff". Donation centers here in the USA are always filled to the brim. A new trend?
Never been interested in abundance and materialistic stuff, live very much a minimalist. However, put me in front of an all you can eat buffet and ill smash it, big time !!!!
I spend less and have more. I retired in Thailand. I live in an older condo in Pattaya (a 5-minute scooter ride to the beach). It is all concrete, so the rooms are quiet (I have a video of the condo). I am on the ninth floor, so the sunsets are great, and I do not have any trouble with mosquitoes or road noise. We have a large pool with a slide. There is a restaurant by the pool; most meals are 3-7 dollars. My rent is $207/month. I have a new wall unit ac. It works great; a guy comes out the same day to fix it if it breaks. I run the AC 24/7 and my electric bill is $30/month. My room is 270 square feet or 30 square meters. It has plenty of room for a single guy. I have no plans to move back to the States.
i am 36, i had over 100 clothes, that i rarely use, now i donated it down to 50. still cant get rid of others because i like it. i wish i can go back in time, and never purchased them. now i am happy everytime i let go of something, but there are things i dont want to let go yet. my goal is to declutter to 30 clothes and thats it.

I met a very very wealthy multimillionaire once who had just returned from Monaco.. He told me that it's possible to be just as happy living an average life in an average suburban house as it is living his lifestyle. He had just smashed his lambo a few weeks prior.
For me simplicity is not that extreme. I want to have enough money to travel, have fun, eat good food and enjoy new technologies with family and friends whenever I want. I don't care about having 1000 luxury cars or 4 mansions. Anyone agrees with me?

Wow, you are brave. I am almost at that point but continue to sell all I can. Strangely enough, no one wants my "junk" or "stuff". Donation centers here in the USA are always filled to the brim. A new trend?

The true happiness comes from within ourselves, I agree so much with that 👌🏻 love & values >>> money & possesions
This is exactly what I need to hear. Thank you so much❤🙏
Thanks for watching and for being a part of this journey! 🌞🌿
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! 👍🌿

i am 36, i had over 100 clothes, that i rarely use, now i donated it down to 50. still cant get rid of others because i like it. i wish i can go back in time, and never purchased them. now i am happy everytime i let go of something, but there are things i dont want to let go yet. my goal is to declutter to 30 clothes and thats it.
Thank you for sharing your story! Keep moving toward your goal-every step counts! 👍
I would find 30 items not enough.

When I was in college round 20yo I used to feel immense joy sipping my daily morning very simple cup of milk and coffee that I made home myself, or staring at the ceiling and being philosophical and entertain some idea... I lost taste for so many things since I got into the work force sdly.
Thank you for sharing that! 🌞

Just because I don't want much doesn't mean I deserve the bare minimum! Remember that.
Everything originates in your mind within a thought .... Declutter your mind and everything else in life follows ....
Living simply allows us to focus on what truly matters. By removing excess, we create space for clarity, peace, and meaningful connections. It’s in the simplicity that we find true richness.

Thanks for your hospitality. Just one question; I’m intrigued by the fact that a website from Lithuania has a voiceover of a man who speaks with an American accent. Why is that?

I met a very very wealthy multimillionaire once who had just returned from Monaco.. He told me that it's possible to be just as happy living an average life in an average suburban house as it is living his lifestyle. He had just smashed his lambo a few weeks prior.
Thank you!
Thanks for watching! 🌞
For me simplicity is not that extreme. I want to have enough money to travel, have fun, eat good food and enjoy new technologies with family and friends whenever I want.
I don't care about having 1000 luxury cars or 4 mansions.
Anyone agrees with me?
Absolutely! It sounds like you have a great approach to balancing enjoyment with practicality. 👏 Thanks for sharing your view! 🌞
I agree 100 %. That's the right way to live.
