@@SjoerdHammond I love how perfectly laid out the notes are on piano for reading but I haven't learned all my scales by heart yet. So many more than guitar lol Moveable scale patterns to change keys on a guitar are handy for improvising in a jam. Aloha from kauai 🤙
@@tomasschuman6576 yes exactly, funny I experience exactly the same thing. Notes are so much harder to identify on a guitar, however learning something in one scale means play them on all, which is quite nice
Awesome, sounds great!! would love to have that set up. I just picked up a Korg Cx-3 clonewheel, looking for a leslie next. But one of these days I need to get me a clav :)
My first instrument was a keyboard when i was a child,, But WTF!! I was a live amateur guitarist right now,, But bro you tempting me to play that keys again brooo!!
Omg man! Damn cool! You know soloing can sometimes become boring if you play it for too long in a song, (not talking about you tho, but u know when people do the same solo over and over again) but you managed to keep it cool troughout the hole song😄 and with awsome song! Really cool beat and "backingtrack"/rythm u had there😁👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Ugh right? This guy just gets it, enough variety to keep it interesting but still grounded around a few licks so you don't get lost. This is excellent musicianship, well done.
Last time I listened to this track, I made a funk-face so hard, it wouldn't go away for 3 days. Everybody at work kept asking me why I looked like I smelled something rotten. I thought I was gonna be stuck like that. Damn song almost gave me permament funk-face! 🤯
I'll reiterate what everybody else seems to be saying, what an amazing solo. I just wish there were more lessons on syncopated and slap organ playing. I suppose you can try to emulate this stuff, but I'm not far enough along to do that. I need some basics exercises on that. Pretty much impossible to find.
thanks, yeah it's a sk-1 73. I originally needed a keyboard that had a top notch Hammond sound. I also wanted to use the oppertunity to get a keyboard that had some great other sounds like rhodes, clav and piano. In the price range I had available there were a couple possibilities, like a Nord. But the sk-1 keyboard had a little more emphesis on the Hammond organ, which was my main reason for buying a keyboard. Also the sk-1 has waterfall Hammond keys build for sliding. So I just had to get this one. It has some flaws sound wise, but nothing I can't fix. The leslie simulator is just horrible, absolutely terrible. So I use a Neo Ventilator Mini for leslie simulation. For other crazy Hammond sounds like in this video I use Guitar Rig 5 with FL studio which pretty much gives you infinite sound possibilities. For me it was playability (feel on the hands), emphasis on Hammond, Great collection of vintage sounds used in Blues/Rock/Funk and tweakability that made me love this keyboard. I would like to get a XK-5 some day but the price they ask is just retarded. Besides, I have a real A100, who pretty much is the king of them all.
So I'm kinda a noob in the synth world, I play guitar mainly but I have a heavy focus in effects and tone but Im looking to add a synth to my rig so that I can loop and play a little keys on the side but I'm really obsessed with the clavinet sound. Do you think you could point me in the cheapest direction to adding this sound to my set up? Like would any sort of synth with an organ sound work if I plugged it into a wah? Help me out please
Haha well..., I have a very unorthodox but I believe valuable opinion on that. All Hammonds or Crumars or Nord etc sound terrible without a real Leslie. I played a Crumar once and I thought it sounded absolutely terrible. But that's probably because I played it through the internal Leslie simulator. Now Hammond keyboards for that matter sound even worse. The Leslie simulator is absolute shit. The Leslie sim has a low-fi 8-bit screech when you set it on fast, which I cannot ever understand why they did that. Now plug the Hammond in a dual Leslie setup with two tube 251 and 145 leslies and it is the best sound you've ever heard. I'd say nearly on par with my A100, almost indistinguishable. Leslie sim pedals like the neo ventilator are better than the built-in Leslie sims but are still pretty bad. And you'd still need a pair of high-quality speakers. You can buy a real Leslie for the same money. Bottom line, each brand Hammond focused keyboard sounds great with a Leslie. Even an XK5 will sound bad without a Leslie, however, a bit better than all the others though, which is why it's ridiculously expensive.
@@SjoerdHammond How about this newly announced Hammond SK-pro? Looks like a winner. Though I expect your advice still stands that running it through a real Leslie will be key.
@@RW-ib5hv yeah I'm contemplating to buy one or not. It looks very promising. I hope the piano is really better as promised. My thoughts on a leslie still stand indeed
HE IS ABSOLUTELY RIPPING THAT SHIT
Amazing! I can almost see Ron Jeremy with pizza and lady with no money.
Hilarious! Good call!...though this is some groovy music. imo
Omg that's so funny
Who ordered the pizza with extra sausage?
Well as much as we make fun of them, they had good music back then.
