For those curious, the reason why Sarah dies, but can still get kidnapped by Jack is - according to the game's Wikipedia page - because at the end of the game Jack and his Fiends travel back 2000 years in time to set up the conditions that will create the Warriors of Light, which erases everything that happened in the game. No, really. This whole game was a DnD party realizing they had a bad party build, and deciding to reroll and start over.

Ya know I remember hearing that the devs were disappointed with all the "Chaos" memes when the demo came out...which would imply that they actually take this story seriously to some extent. I find that hilarious.

its not an isekai, jack has late stage dementia and is in an old persons home and his party is his family and he cant remember and just wants everyone to shut up cause its too confusing. the monsters are nurses who just wanna give him his medicine
