If Mike had kept going south on 300 W, he would’ve passed what is known as the world’s largest Costco. Salt Lake City is a mixture of old & new architecture. I’m glad he was able to drive on a clear day because it helped show the city at its best.
One of the more vibrant downtowns we've seen. There's plenty of people and light rail to dodge. With most all development limited to along the I-15 corridor, when something goes vacant, it usually gets redeveloped quickly. Mountains just to the east and the Great Salt Lake and desert to the west. Looks like they're doing some repairs at LDS headquarters. It was a compact town a few years back and tries to retain that downtown.
Salt Lake City got to be the only major US city downtown with broad and spacious streets. And no one way streets except the two Mileage Mike didn’t drive down.
One of the most impressive and beautiful cities that I've seen on this channel. I didn't realize that so much of it is so modern; It looks very livable also. The way that the state capital building is situated is quite impressive and striking. I was very pleasantly surprised.
The City of Salt Lake City, Utah, situated in the middle of nowhere, and situated in the crossroads of the contiguous American West Region, is definitely among the most beautiful cities in America 😃😃😃😃😃. ¶ Now, I have watched many of Mike's Web videos. The above Web video showcasing Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah ranks among the very best Web videos 😃😃😃😃😃.
As a person who lived in Salt Lake City for 20 years before moving to St. George, this did NOT represent Salt Lake City. It was endless driving, one turn after another, of the west side (why did you stay for more than 1 minute on the West side of town?!), and then somewhat east, somewhat north, and somewhat south. This drive should have included the homes on the Bench; the University of Utah; the University of Utah Medical Center; the George E.Wahlen Veterans Medical Center, Sugarhouse, The Avenues, and the "This is the Place Monument," and maybe a short part of the drive up Emigration Canyon. Absolutely boring.

Thats not the Church Headquarter that is L.D.S Temple, and Temple grounds.
