After my Golden Retriever passed away from liver cancer I decided to not have any more pets. I've had dogs and cats all my life. After grieving for 2 months my cousin told me about a kitten rescue nearby. They had the mother cat (approx 8 months old) one male and three females. Two other kittens were deceased by the time the rescue was able to get mama and babies out from under a bush. I went to see the kitties and two females ran up to me and climbed up on me. My heart melted, I had to have those 2 kittens. They are sisters and they are very much bonded. They are very sweet and affectionate. They sleep on me at night and purr all night. They have been a blessing to me. I'm a senior citizen with heart issues and having the babies (now 12 weeks) has put a smile back on my face.

I once had the shingles and Covid vaccines at the same time. I woke up in the middle of the night freezing with a fever and my teeth chattering. My arms were so swollen that I couldn’t move the covers up higher or reach the phone to call for help. My 2 cats, Megan and Gregory, each spread themselves over me to keep me warm and I was able to fall back to sleep. My doctor said that they saved me.

I'll never forget when my husband passed away I was pretty much crying myself to sleep every night. One of my cats , a red tabby named Blaze would come up on the bed and sleep right next to my face purring, something he never did before. When I was better recovered from grief, he stopped doing this. He knew that I needed extra comforting for a while and was there to provide it. ❤

When my husband passed away, Sammy was such a help. When I read a book in bed she stayed with me, and laid on my chest. She was a big comfort to me. I now have "walter" 7 years old a ginger cat..She makes me happy and cures my anxiety.
Cats are your loving nurse when you're sick and they love you unconditionally. They are furry and warm when they sleep with you, like little teddy bears. I've been blessed with having cats as companions since I was a little child.

I am so sorry, Joseph. I have 2 cats. A orange tiger tabby - Sundance and a calico - Boo. Very comforting and sweet. I am alone but have good friends. I would have a hard time loving another if my husband had died. ( I DIDN'T have one ) But there is a better world coming. He grew on me, at first I ignored him but after a month I let him come in my room and sniff around and he began to be company, and I started to miss him when he wasn't in my room checking out every inch of the room lol. Then I started petting him and he jumped on my bed and he was so soft and his purrs were relaxing to my soul. I let him eat select food with me like chicken and snacks that were cat safe and he began to expect food when I'd eat in my room. I'd share with him and we began to bond. He started swimming on my bed AKA making biscuits on me and then he'd fall asleep next to me. I made him a secret hiding spot in the room and put a screen up over the door so he could sit and watch the birds outside. He became a precious companion to me. My roommate is gone all day so it was just me and him. He became so attached to me that he follows me around and my roommate got jealous. I can't do much about it, she doesn't tend to him like I do, or let him jump up on her bed. I won't be here much longer so when I leave I'll have to leave him behind but I am grateful to God that this precious kitty was here when I needed a companion. Do you have precious fur angel baby?

Have two cats. Have had them since kittens. They couldn't care less. They just want food. After 10 years of vet visits, constructing two catios, toys, and working from home to nurse one back from illness, not once have they come close to allow any petting,. The bedroom door is always open, not once have they climbed into bed. Had a pet trainer tell me some cats are like that, aloof. So it doesn't feel so personal. It's some solace that when friends come over they too are ignored. So, to those who have similar experiences with animals, don't take it personal. Some are aloof. Give them food and let them be.

Thank you for your comment.I rescued my cat in a sewer -- she was age 6 weeks. Mother cat was nowhere to be seen. Three sibs jumped into sewer One drowned - two left - I got one (wanted the two) but another lady on the scene took the other sibling. Had my cat Omi for 19 years. Loved loved loved her. However, she was always aloof. (with everybody) Only once she slept on me purring - never a lapper. When I had any guest she'd leave the room, and go to her happy room upstairs. Even when very small hated going to the vet - took a long time to trap her into a cat case. She meowed so loudly all the way to the vets - when I parked in front people looked at me wondering what I was doing to her. Although she was small, the vet would not examine w/o anesthesia - I wouldn't allow, but wrapped my arm in a towel while the vet examined her or had to give her a shot. At the end I knew it would torture her to bring her to the vet. So she died quietly at home. On her last day, she came downstairs from her favorite room to where I was -- in the living room. She got up on the large pillows next to my sofa, where I was sitting. I was talking to a client on the phone - Omi was there, then I saw she was no longer "here". Ended my call - kissing my Omi - goodbye. PS wrote a memoir: To Omi With Love.

I love my cats. I too was raised with cats and dogs. As an adult I've had a horse , pet skunks a ferret parakeets rabbits dogs. I feed the chipmunks birds and squirrels. I love animals. The chipmunks are funny to watch. When my animals pass away it's like losing a child in a way. They do bring u so much love and free entertainment.

20 years ago my best friend had heart surgery. I let him stay in my spare Room because he couldn’t pay his rent while he recovered and didn’t have the type of job with any bennies. He told me while you were away working your cat would come up and gently rub my eye lids. He said I was in a lot of pain and he really helped. I knew my cat was a gentle soul his whole life. Both are gone now and I miss them equally.

Yeah my 17 baby boy that just passed he did all this and then some he was an amazing soul ... but this little baby at she is extra ... I'm sure she has a plan escape and try's to execute it daily she does like 2 of these and probably just out of boredom.

My cat doesn't do any of those nice things they do for you. All my cat does is bite me or scratch me. I am only allowed to pet her when she walks past me. I have to keep a container of cat treats next to my bed when I go to bed or else he attacks my legs and feet when I go to bed. I could write a book about my cat

Have two cats. Have had them since kittens. They couldn't care less. They just want food. After 10 years of vet visits, constructing two catios, toys, and working from home to nurse one back from illness, not once have they come close to allow any petting,.
The bedroom door is always open, not once have they climbed into bed. Had a pet trainer tell me some cats are like that, aloof. So it doesn't feel so personal. It's some solace that when friends come over they too are ignored. So, to those who have similar experiences with animals, don't take it personal. Some are aloof. Give them food and let them be.

Thank you for your comment.I rescued my cat in a sewer -- she was age 6 weeks. Mother cat was nowhere to be seen. Three sibs jumped into sewer One drowned - two left - I got one (wanted the two) but another lady on the scene took the other sibling. Had my cat Omi for 19 years. Loved loved loved her. However, she was always aloof. (with everybody) Only once she slept on me purring - never a lapper. When I had any guest she'd leave the room, and go to her happy room upstairs.
Even when very small hated going to the vet - took a long time to trap her into a cat case. She meowed so loudly all the way to the vets - when I parked in front people looked at me wondering what I was doing to her. Although she was small, the vet would not examine w/o anesthesia - I wouldn't allow, but wrapped my arm in a towel while the vet examined her or had to give her a shot. At the end I knew it would torture her to bring her to the vet. So she died quietly at home. On her last day, she came downstairs from her favorite room to where I was -- in the living room. She got up on the large pillows next to my sofa, where I was sitting. I was talking to a client on the phone - Omi was there, then I saw she was no longer "here". Ended my call - kissing my Omi - goodbye. PS wrote a memoir: To Omi With Love.

I love my cats. I too was raised with cats and dogs. As an adult I've had a horse , pet skunks a ferret parakeets rabbits dogs. I feed the chipmunks birds and squirrels. I love animals. The chipmunks are funny to watch. When my animals pass away it's like losing a child in a way. They do bring u so much love and free entertainment.

20 years ago my best friend had heart surgery. I let him stay in my spare Room because he couldn’t pay his rent while he recovered and didn’t have the type of job with any bennies. He told me while you were away working your cat would come up and gently rub my eye lids. He said I was in a lot of pain and he really helped. I knew my cat was a gentle soul his whole life. Both are gone now and I miss them equally.

Yeah my 17 baby boy that just passed he did all this and then some he was an amazing soul ... but this little baby at she is extra ... I'm sure she has a plan escape and try's to execute it daily she does like 2 of these and probably just out of boredom.

My cat doesn't do any of those nice things they do for you. All my cat does is bite me or scratch me. I am only allowed to pet her when she walks past me. I have to keep a container of cat treats next to my bed when I go to bed or else he attacks my legs and feet when I go to bed. I could write a book about my cat
