Actually I think this is pretty good because if it’s given loads and nothing has blown up. That’s better than someone saying they drive it sensibly all the time. Cos how you gonna know when you accelerate a few times something won’t happen then. 🤔
I have a 290 with 5k on the clock. I bloody loves it.

Can't imagine that sort of power going through the front wheels my mk 3 fr diesel is running around 220 bhp and that's plenty with the added torque, must eat tyres for breakfast 😁

Jamie I love these cars. Prefer them over the GTI’s and S3’s. I had a 2017 Leon FR 1.4tsi as a courtesy car last year. It too had the DSG gearbox, wasn’t a very fan of the box since I prefer manuals but what a car to drive. They look good and very comfortable, when you want to put the foot down though they can give you a laugh
Dsg boxes and crackle maps are not to my taste but nice to see you doing the same style of content that made your channel great in the first place 😎
420bhp must be insane my mk2 focus st is pushing 340 and that’s more than enough for a fwd

How can it produce 420bhp with an APR Stage 2 Hi-torque map on the OEM turbo? Everyone says they max at 390?
Thats what I thought, stage 2 golf r's s3's make max around 400bhp, must be a very friendly dyno

420bhp is too much for FWD, the Cupra is a cracking car with an amazing Chasis, but it doesn't handle the 400+ bhp too well - looks like a proper monster to drive

is this a golf engine? or does seat have there own engine for this car?
It's the same engine as in the golf yes.
Pretty much a Golf GTI engine(230bhp) but just been tuned by Seat to 280bhp. I believe it uses the turbo from the Golf R and other little bits to raise the bhp.

JustBlinkMe1 this has the same engine and gearbox as the golf r, s3 and TTS . The engines are all the same ea888 gen3 . The Gti has the same engine correct but has smaller injectors and the smaller is20 turbo 👍🏻

Is it underrated? Possibly. But people buy golf's and s3's for the 4wd. This car really struggles to put any power down.
Struggles to put power down but beats the Golf R and S3 on the go. Golf R and S3 are great at putting power down, but the Cupra from 30 onwards is an animal in itself!
@@conor9530 if you compare this to a stock R then yes once it's moving it's bye bye R, but all you have to do is get a remap and the R will leave this in the dust

Im comparing stock v stock, the cupra says bye bye to the R every time on the go.
My cupra 290 keeps up with my m8s pre facelift rs3 going from 30 so how does it struggle to put power down lol who actually races of the line from 0 on normal roads lol tempted to remap mine but never done it before

No 4wd but have a wavetrac limited skip diff
Without this it would spin the wheels constantly when the engine was at 300 BHP total waste
The wave trac is incredible
This car needs that and a better map bringing the power in later the Rev range
It’s just his driving style. He just mats it, needs to modulate the throttle. Even my fwd with 280hp loses traction
