Hello Gary. Cupras are great cars and that stage 1 and all the other additions have made it even more entertaining. As usual the MT kit seems top quality and they all enhance the car with an oem+ look and feel. The Golf R is a very rapid and competent car but like has been said with those additions the Cupra has been made even more fun. Thanks for another great vid and review mate. 👍🏻
Hi Mark, thank you for watching as always! Indeed - the Cupra is certainly more fun than the R, the FWD just makes it feel way more lively and playful. They are also cracking value in comparison. I was really impressed with the map in that you only notice it when you want to. The car still drives very sedately when you want to cruise 👌🏻
good video Gary, and about right I thought. I have the 300 with the stage 1 but without all the add ons...apart from exhaust/high flow air intake /powerflex engine mount. m t done a good job .nice of the owner to let you have a little go in it. @@CarFocused
very, had it about 2 years now. A local dealer in Folkestone KAP . They also fitted the cobra exhaust and set of new Ps4's at the same time. One thing you didn't mention , after a re-map the limiter comes off...0-60 feels around low 5's ! I'm guessing test car was similar? It has more bhp/torque than mine.
On a side note, you talking about the traction control - I may be wrong, but I don't you can ever FULLY turn it off, even when you turn it off I think there's still something going on in the background but I could be wrong.
I just press and hold the button until I get the warning on the dash - I’ve never noticed intervention on my car after that but this one still flashed up on the dash that it was intervening. Who knows 🤷🏼♂️😂
My 280 is very similar to this. Mine has a stage 1 ECU tune, APR open intake filter, Ramair intake hose, Ramair turbo elbow, res delete, dogbone mount insert
@@CarFocused I am happy with it but, I’ve had a lot of mechanical issues unfortunately. Despite it having full Seat service history. I think stage 1 is max I’d want to go with a FWD car like this. It’s plenty of power. Any higher and I’d want it coupled with a 4WD system.
@@haz_raf that’s fair enough mate. Sorry to hear you’ve had issues with the car. I think my 300 has a slightly updated variant of the EA888 engine, which has been very reliable. It’s other things I’ve had issues with like the shocks, window switches and creaks here and there.
Also, in my opinion, the soundaktor needs turning off in these cars 100%. You can hear the actual engine and exhaust then, and the car sounds more chill, like you said.
Mountune has worked worked their magic again, but from what I saw it threw the power in to excessively as you could see how the steering wheel jerked quite badly, but hey that's power for ya 😅
Thanks again for visiting us at mountune HQ - we're pleased you enjoyed the drive!
Thanks for having me along. Cupra was good fun, shame they don’t get the attention they deserve!

@@colinbocutt2436 thanks mate. Are you happy with your stage 1 package? Who did you use?

That certainly looks like a lot of fun!
Very quick mate. Mine would be savage mapped!
They're incredible cars at all stages, and at stage 3 they're silly quick.
About to take my 490hp one out for a late night spin 👌
I can’t even imagine what it must be like at that power 😂
@@CarFocused lets just say it's really fun 😂

Nice! You happy with it? Such good value for money, very underrated cars!

Not having perfect traction makes is more fun
Totally. Just need the balance so it’s not constantly spinning the wheels - this car was fine in the dry 👍🏻
@@CarFocused yeah it's nice when we eventually get dry weather haha
Got mine done 375 bhp and 522 nm with the tcu also and I can’t got any grip in this weather
You have the mountune map? Yea even in standard trim my 300 is crap in the wet!
No mate custom r-tech I forgot to mention 😂
Epic video mate. Comes across as a proper Jerkyll & Hyde car. Does look like a lot of fun.
It’s just that mate. Nice and chilled when you want it to be, and then an animal when it needs to be 👌🏻
Great vid mate

Yea being FWD it’s definitely lively. Comes on boost really strong 💪🏻
If you had the option of a manual box, do you think you'd chose it over the DSG mate? That DSG certainly seems slick. Nice review bud 👍
DSG all day mate. Can’t be doing with a manual all day everyday now!
The facelift has a 7 speed DSG not 6 speed.
I have a facelifted 300 and it’s a 6 speed. The 290 that followed (with the GPF) had the 7 speed.
@@CarFocused oh right. I had a 290 GPF so assumed all facelift cars came with the 7 speed.
Crazy to think these with a map can smoke RS3s
Very quick cars mate. My 300 even in standard form surprises a lot of people. Great cars!
