How to fit retrofit lateral restraint straps - Long 12mm helical ties.
Long helical lateral restraint strap ties offer an economical and reliable way to strengthen and fix cracked or separated brick walls. The spiral-shaped stainless-steel ties hammer into a small pilot hole where they undercut into masonry to strap and restrain parting wall elements. Once fixed, the helical straps are easily concealed by patching the hole.
The heavy-duty anchors deliver a secure helical-fix connection that does not require chemical bonding agents, which are rarely compatible in historic buildings.
Lateral restraint strap ties can be used in sub-zero temperatures and are available from Twistfix in lengths ranging from 24-56 inches; they are independently tested and comply with BS EN 845-1.
