Judith had a near-fatal brain hemorrhage in 2013, after a Seekers 50th-anniversary concert in Melbourne. Fortunately, someone realized right away that something was wrong, and got help to her in time. In Vietnam my uncle was in 5th SPF (U.S) and served with Aussie SASR LRRP's. He also went on R&R in Australia. He spoke of the kindness and friendliness of the "Aussie's" and how they were like extended family. I was riding in his truck when this song came on the radio, and I briefly heard a quiver in his voice when he told me how the Australian people treated him so much better than people here when he came home to the U.S.

Actually it is a Russian Song. Tom Springfield wrote new lyrics. The Original is from an Opera about Stenka Rasin, who was a Cossak Leader. The Seekers were just great. They sang well written, melodic songs in a timeless, joyous way. Remember this was at a time when ANYONE with talent had a shot unlike now. The Beatles, The Stones, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, The Move, The Kinks, and the wonderful Seekers.
She was so so beautiful (1968) and ably supported by these accompanying talented fine looking male Musicians. Their music will live on and on and. ......
Unfortunately we seem to be living through a time where the negative people seem to have the loudest voices. But that is just that, a moment in time. Fortunately history have taught us that the good always triumph in the end. The Donald Trumps of this world will be consigned to history as losers. But it is up to us to show them that `You get a lot more with honey than with Vinger ' The Seekers will be with us for as long as the good prevail. My only regret is I never got to see and hear the Seekers in real life. But I will have their music to inspire me. And that type of inspiration is timeless. Seamus Tipperary Town Ireland 🇮🇪
@Leon Erin I have no wish to get into an argument with you. This seekers site and the comments expressed by all are a sign that truth /honesty/integrity is still alive. Those who in courage dishonesty /violence/alternative facts and wish the weak to live in the their world. What would you call that? I call that wrong and yes it is a from of evil. Good will always struggle against the ones who shout the loudest with wrong in their hearts. But you know what? Their is more good in the world and in the end will always triumph over the miss guided. I will leave you with this,,,,,, evil only wins when others remain silent. So with that I will leave you and return to the world of hope and listening to the Seekers always brings me hope and a smile and even a tear or two.
@Leon Erin Leon you are obviously more political than I am and for me to express comments on such a matter I would quickly find myself out of my depth. I will however acknowledge that a lot of what you express I find myself in agreement with. However two wrongs don't and never will be a justification for those who wish to undermine our fragile democracy. I also find this discussion a little surreal as for me being on a comment page such as this is somewhat out of character for me. My reading of message and I maybe wrong,,, that you are a defender of Donald Trump. I on the other hand would never endorse one that attempts to undermine and destroy democracy by encouraging violence and alternative facts. Leon allow me to end on this, while I don't think you and I will become lifelong buddies, I will acknowledge that your comments were presented in a very respectful manner and at no stage strayed into the twilight zone. So perhaps you and I are not that different and the fact that you obviously enjoy the music of the Seekers is a positive note to end on.
I would have responded sooner but I was unable to locate your name. I have never been on anything like this and once I submitt this I will once again return to not knowing how to locate you. So you are safe. This dinasour will now sign off

0:29, dear Judith. That is still what happens today. I love Judith voice and her perfection, I love the harmony in this song, and maybe this is why, even now after all those years people still have tears. As one once wrote this is the most beautiful sad song ever. I can not talk for other people, but I love this song so much, but each time I hear it Niagara Falls comes to my eyes. Thank you for your music The Seekers, thank You for the beautiful voice hearing Judith. R.I.P.

My husband sang this song to me. Not all of it but some lines. We were so young. I’m 78 now and he has passed on 30 years ago. But I still remember. The carnival left me 30 years ago.
You Seekers Men, fantastic musicians, will be remembered and your music is still played here in USA 10/8/2022. Thank you. We miss Judith too but your hearts were special for her & only you can understand.
I remember it took me two and a half years to order the sheet music for this song. I finally got it in 1971. I still have and play it today. This and I'll never find another you along with I Am Australian are all classics. It's surprised me through the years how many DJs never heard this song and fall in love with it immediately and add it to their closing act once they hear it. I played this at my mom's memorial service. I always think of my mom and dad on the Greeley campus where they met. Best song ever
Judith and the guys are simply amazing. Grew up listening to them with my parents. Still listening to them though makes me sad no my parents are no longer here.😢
JudIth Durham goodbye, but the Seeker's songs will live on for generations to come. Your voice is amazing and do not age. I bought my first Seekers 33LP record back in 1975, Love all the titles. Gone but not forgotten by many. R.I.P, Judith and my condolences to the remaining Seekers and all Seeker's family.
I just watched the documentary on the abc tonight. I was putting on my shoes to go shopping when the show came on. Needless to say I was late going shopping. Such a talent, even into her 70's doing their tour. Amazing
The Seekers' music was a muse for me while in Vietnam amid the raucousness of war and rock-and-roll it was timeless and pure something impossible to grasp in war...
My goodness, but she was tiny! Where did she hide that enormous voice and talent? Thank you, Judith and the Seekers for the many hours spent in joy and sadness listening to your unique performances. ♥4VR
One of the best groups of the sixties and I used to sing my young grandsons to sleep with Morning Town Ride. It always tugs at my heart. The Seekers are timeless and still a joy to hear.
Rest in peace Judith God bless you amen, the carnival is over and I'll always remember you till the day I die,you may be gone but your not forgotten,🌈🌸🌹💖🙏💓🌈🌹

I often wonder if any of the members of The Seekers ever realised that together and only together they created a heavenly choir lead by Judith which is calling us home
first time i heardthe seekers was when i was 9 years old on a fm station in Erie pa it blew me away it was never find another you will never forget the angelic voice of Judith. now she is gone the song makes me cry hard Judith where ever you are you are loved here in Canada RIP

Leading up The Seekers through the years
You and all your mates gave us lots of fun
And memories too - then suddenly
Hey there, Judith Durham
You had quite the nasty scare that May
But your mates stood by you all the way
And you pulled right through
You ne’er were scared of changing and rearranging yourself
Nor scared of jumping down from the shelf
More than a little bit

You had quite the rocky road ahead
But you brought out all the strength you hid

The Carnival Is Over breaks me every time. Judith's voice...
Judith said she will love me 'til she died.
Judith, tonight 6th August 2022, I will love you 'til I die.

Rest easy, Judith.
And 50 years later The Seekers and especially Judith Durham were STILL Incredible!!!
My husband sang this song to me. Not all of it but some lines. We were so young. I’m 78 now and he has passed on 30 years ago. But I still remember. The carnival left me 30 years ago.
What a fitting song for the human race and all we lost this past year...
So many people in Britain loved her and are so sad at her passing. she and the Seekers where our music I was a folky and still am for many years.
You Seekers Men, fantastic musicians, will be remembered and your music is still played here in USA 10/8/2022. Thank you. We miss Judith too but your hearts were special for her & only you can understand.
Beautiful song
If this doesn’t bring a lump to your throat and a tear to your eye you ain’t human
Rest in peace, Judith. The carnival is over, but we'll love you till we die.
Judith has a wonderfull voice, so smooth and nice.
Rest in Peace Judith Durham 🌹
Thank you for the wonderful music. You will be missed.
Unfortunately, as of today The Carnival really is over. RIP Judith Durham. Very sad.
Judith and the guys are simply amazing. Grew up listening to them with my parents. Still listening to them though makes me sad no my parents are no longer here.😢
same here
I live for the day when she is known as Dame Judith.
Like Mary Travers Judith voice is iconic!
SPECIAL to hear this, thank you. Caroline & Golden Bruce xxx
Boys you don't know or can't imagine how much Joy You four have given this old Man who was aboard the fairsky and got hooked
I still love your songs

My goodness, but she was tiny! Where did she hide that enormous voice and talent? Thank you, Judith and the Seekers for the many hours spent in joy and sadness listening to your unique performances. ♥4VR
I will till my dying days cherish the voices of these four artists and will continue to share their music with all those who have touched my life
UNFORGETTABLE
Here we are, it is 2023, and I still relish the old days 😊*!
Rip Judith. A great talent singing a timeless classic.
I loved the Seekers back in the day, and they never lost their quality. What sad news of Judith's passing.
What a delight to listen to this beautiful music Judith Durham ‘s voice is so melodious probably one of the best sopranos of our times ♥️♥️♥️♥️
One of the best groups of the sixties and I used to sing my young grandsons to sleep with Morning Town Ride. It always tugs at my heart. The Seekers are timeless and still a joy to hear.
Judith had a voice like I have never heard.

I'm 59 and I had three older sisters so I used to listen to this heavenly music on the old Forty fives . It brings a lump in my stomach, her version of the Beatles in my life is very special
Jonathan Prigmore
What a way to end such a wonderful period of beautiful songs by such a great group.
i was a kid in the 60s and it was an incredible time for music. this was always one of my favourites and remains very much so to this day.
Rest in Peace Judith. The carnival carries on in our memories of you ❤️
RIP Judith, we will never find another you.
I often wonder if any of the members of The Seekers ever realised that together and only together they created a heavenly choir lead by Judith which is calling us home

Excellence! One of the all time best if not the best group ever.
Such beauty both internally and externally. Stunning!
The voice of an angel, now with the angels. “My song” performed so brilliantly by a fantastic group.
