Great review. Totally agree with having adult time in Yacht Club pool. The spa is mediocre at best. There is a cold room and a salt room on Meraviglia but easily missed. Great review, thanks so much!
I'm taking first MSC Yacht Club cruise in January. May I ask....How much did you tip your butler? And did you tip anyone else in the Yacht Club? Waiters? Bartenders? Room stewards?
@@eld4726 our room attendant helped us just as much if not more than our butler so it did not feel right to tip him less so we ended up leaving $100 each for a week long cruise which…..honestly I don’t know if it’s too much, just right, or too little but I’ve (Laurie) been in the service industry for years and when it comes to good service (which I received from the entire Yacht Club Staff) Id rather over tip than under tip. As for individual servers…..everyone was great. We had different staff every evening so we didn’t leave a particular server extra (because of course it’s in the gratuities you pay) but I did tip the bartender who made my latte every morning $20 at the end of the cruise. So bottom line, definitely come prepared to tip both butler and room attendant but maybe if you have a bartender or server that goes out of their way to make your vacation special give them a little extra too.
So, I just won my Upgrade bid into the yacht club for my cruise in October! I'm very excited for this experience. I do have a question for you both! In your opinion where is the best place to go for the sail away? My wife and I never cruised before so, I'm trying to make this a great experience.
@@paulras01 i liked the Champagne so much I looked it up: “Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Champagne.” I can’t find it anywhere in NY (haven’t looked too hard but still.) Normally too much Champagne makes me sick but I would have 3-4 glasses of this and was fine. It’s a medium priced Champagne so nothing crazy special…..but…..I liked it.

Really surprised the restaurant closes so early. Only open 90 minutes for breakfast and lunch and closes so early for dinner, 8:30pm?? Not very Italian. We usually don't start to think of going to dinner in the suites restaurants on Celebrity and Royal until about 8:30pm.

No. You really can’t do that. Even if you were able to get into the area via sneaking in behind someone (the doors are only opened with keycards) the crew basically recognized everyone and knew our names by day 3. They’d definitely know if someone wasn’t supposed to be there.
We’re probably going to travel in the Yacht Club this fall but i had two questions. First, we’re no strangers to cruising and always pick a cabin in a good spot amid ship to keep the ships’ movement to a minimum. With the Yacht Club all the way at the bow (stern for the Haven on NCL), do you feel a lot of motion? I was just curious. Also, I’m not a big drinker but is the alcohol up there all top shelf like Louis XIII cognac? Again, just wondering.
We didn’t feel much movement in the front. We usually book rooms in the middle of the ship and we didn’t feel a difference but we did have good weather. The yacht club bar has a wide range of liquor. Nothing insanely fancy. Your liquor package only covers drinks up to $18 I believe.
