MSC Meraviglia 2024: Our surprising First 24 hours on board | MSC Yacht Club

- It was our first-ever MSC Cruises sailing, and so we wanted to capture our first impressions for you! We've heard a LOT of mixed reviews on MSC Cruises and so we weren't sure what to expect. We booked a standard balcony, but bid for an upgrade - and we got it! We sailed in a Yacht Club Deluxe Suite on board MSC Meraviglia. We had no idea what to expect. Were all of the negative reviews about MSC Cruises true? Was the pizza indeed the best on the ocean? Is a butler really any different than a room steward?
We had so many questions - and were surprised over and over again in our first 24 hours. Check out our thoughts and stay tuned for our full review on MSC Meraviglia where we'll share what we Loved, what we Didn't Love, and what we Hated!

Hold up…. Priority elevator, Members only dining area, dessert trio, cabin butler…? Spacious cabin? I mean, I was absolutely holding my breath, cuz I just knew y’all were about to reveal that Sir Elton John was in your adjoining Cabin…. For the love of us “common Folk”. 😂❤😂 I’m gonna try reallllllll hard not to sound bitter!!! Thank you for sharing, THIS one was extraordinary!!!! Wow!!!
We were living for each new experience. It was unlike anything we had seen before! You should have seen our faces at every turn! Just wait until we review all of the dinners and the entire sailing. You're in for a treat!

I was excited for this coming August when my husband and I would be on the MSC Meraviglia already, but this makes it so much more. We joined the Yacht Club once we saw some of the benefits. Some friends of ours are getting married on board while we're there! This sounds so amazing!

Oh how exciting! We'll try to get out some more content for you to enjoy before you set sail. The ship was gorgeous and if you see Nilesh (butler), Irish, or Caroline (bar staff), please say hello to them for us! We absolutely adored the bar staff!
Oh, and if you make it up to the Sky Lounge for a late night drink (from 8pm until 12am), find Jose and order a B52 shot in our honor. He was probably the best crew we interacted with all cruise!
Great Video! We did our first Yacht Club-cruise this January on the MSC Fantasia (mediterranian sea). Fantasia YC is a bit smaller than Meraviglia, but we had almost the same expierience as shown in your video. I kept repeatingly saying to my wife: "I expected this to be good, but I never expected it to be so good!" As we were brougt to the top-sail lounge after boarding, the waiter came up to me saying "oh, you must be Mr. Emanuel. I know you from facebook, from the yacht club-group I'm in." And after that he spoiled us the whole week with fantastic cocktails. Also our Butler Tiana was absolutly fantastic. This was one of the best weeks of our life.
That story makes us so happy to hear! MSC has definitely figured out how to make their Yacht Club guests feel like royalty. Such a fantastic experience - glad to hear it was similar for you and your wife!
Fantastic video. 2 big question; 1) Did you get dressed up for dinner or was a collared shirt and neat jeans acceptable? 2) What would be a reasonable Tip for your butler?
Thanks for watching and your kind words! In terms of dress: we typically stuck with collared shirts with nice jeans. A couple nights we were even a bit more casual (long sleeves, no collar). In terms of tipping, we’ve seen everything from $50 to $500! It really depends on what you feel is appropriate for the service you receive on board. Hope that helps a little! -mark

That’s awesome! You will have a great time, for sure. Also… cruise tip for Nassau: there’s a small local distillery there that we always visit that’s about a 10 minute walk from port. You pass a chocolatier on the way if that tempts you. ;) Otherwise, we know you’ll love your time on board in port!!! -m
From what you've shown, this is far from my experience on the Haven. Very far. I'm mostly surprised how much more quiet it is, as the Haven itself is loud & mobbed most times. Not many places to sit quietly & no buffet or drinks included.
I've been looking for an exclusive experience away from NCL & I think you two gave it to me. I loved your video about the Brooklyn check in, as I'm from NJ, so would be leaving from there as well.
So far I'm hoping MSC adds a few Fall/Autumn cruises to New England & Canada, but may have to just got earlier in the year. Everything you've shown looks wonderful. Did you have the YC buffet? I watched another channel where they ate at that buffet for lunch each day because it was so good. I think it's on the top floor. (18?) Anyway, thanks again for going into such detail. You are a joy to watch. xx
Thank you so much for watching our video! We had a fantastic time. We did try the YC buffet for breakfast and it was good! Never got up there for lunch unfortunately, but we’re sure it’s just as good! Hopefully you’ll be able to get on MSC soon!
I totally agree. Having sailed the Haven several times. MSC blows them out of the water. The attention to detail's was amazing. I've given up on NCL. The menus change every day, unlike NCL which stays the same. The pool deck had a bar and buffet area. Full breakfast. Lunch you could get steaks, fish all cooked to order. Along with everything else they had there. We couldn't pass on the price. It includes everything, wifi, drink's, etc.
I am loving these MSC Yacht club vlogs! Definitely helping me choose an MSC sailing which I have been avoiding because of some of the bad press they receive!
Don't let the bad reviews scare you. MSC is lovely and every crew member we have ever interacted with has been amazing. No complaints whatsoever.
Thank you so much for watching our videos. We really were curious about the MSC experience and are truly looking forward to our next sailing with them. We went in with little to no expectations and that’s likely what helped us to enjoy the cruise. We went into it with the mindset of going on a cruise and just let the events unfold on their own.
@@thiscruiselife Great Advice! I stopped going to all-inclusives after the restart, because the food quality really suffered. That turned me onto cruising, and the food has been amazing on the lines we have gone on (Celebrity, VV and Norwegian). The food I see on these vlogs, especially in the Yacht Club, look stellar, and I have no doubt I will love the experience.
@@Jon_T19we did several all inclusives during the cruise pause. While they were nice, we missed the ocean so much. The swaying of the sea. The countless options for delicious food (which, as you mention, is actually better in many cases). We also missed getting to experience multiple places. Thanks for sharing your experience! Trying Yacht Club on MSC Seashore next month. I’ve cruised in suites on Celebrity, Disney, and Virgin and MSC is the cheapest by far. Curious to see how “you get what you pay for” pans out here. We mostly like to be left alone so our butler will have an easy time. Look forward to your food reviews - from what I’ve seen, Top Sail menu doesn’t seem that different from MDR.
Thank you for watching! We decided to book a non-Yacht Club room for those reasons. We want to experience the MDR and see how it differs. We very much enjoyed feeling like royalty. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it as well!

I watch the safety video on my phone on the app. The safety video tells you how to do the life jacket.
Then, as soon as I can accsess my cabin,call #881 . Then about 30 mins before muster drill,go and get my card scanned, cos the crews there. Then I go relax. You dont have to endure being sat in the theatre Also, make sure youve got a drink in 1 hour before the Muster drill starts,cos the bars shut 30 mins before it starts. All of them!

Do you have to reservations for the shows?
It is recommended, but not required. You would make reservations once on board and within a day or two of the show. If you are staying in the Yacht Club, there's no need to make those reservations as your Butler will walk you down. The only shows we recommend booking ahead of the cruise is for the two shows in the Carousel Lounge as prices will increase once on board.
Is it comparable to ncl's Haven?
It is to an extent. We heard from many other people on our sailing that they loved the Yacht Club experience over The Haven.
Sometimes you get an email to enter in an upgrade bidding programme,too.
That’s how we got into the YC. It was such a great surprise!
Since it is shown on TH-cam, all the videos are commercial and you can't find any bad comments like it is related to the cruise line. Don't think about TH-cam videos that are fair and truthful, but watch TH-cam videos and throw away any fantastical thoughts.

The service was truly some of the best we've ever had at sea and the included restaurant and lounge were just fantastic. The Yacht Club price varies based on ship, itinerary length, and more. We were fortunate in that we received the option to do an upgrade to get into the Yacht Club.
