    The only reason why backbone got popular was because of how locked down iOS was. It was essentially the only option. And it had the software polish you'd expect from a iPhone associated product.

      You are 💯 correct friend, the Backbone on Apple at the time that it started out was definitely a massive launching pad. Plus, it got featured by Apple themselves quite a few times when they were showcasing gaming on their iPhones!

      I understand some of the disappointments people may have but the more I've been using it, the more GameSir's direction make sense. And with that hidden wireless mode, it's actually having that newfound appeal for me. I still haven't successfully managed to pair it but hopefully, GameSir hid a button combination to kick it because this thing definitely has that mode, the question is how to pair it with the dongle now!

    Hey man, the truth is I almost never comment on videos, mostly because it’s not easy for me to write in English (it’s my second language and it’s very different from my first) and also because I usually just don’t . But this time I felt I had to. For the past few weeks, I’ve been thinking about buying a gamepad, and I let that idea simmer. Last week, I decided to go for it and started researching. I have to say you’ve really helped me understand the field and what’s best for me. I truly appreciate it. I can’t explain it exactly , but watching you makes it clear you’re a good person. Tomorrow, I’ll finally place my order! I’m going to get the BSP D9 because I’m used to the shape of the PlayStation controller, and it’s the most comfortable for me. I also loved the fact that the joystick, buttons, and gamepad are at a 45-degree angle, unlike almost all the other options, which I find just underneath, there was more considerations in order to choose that one but they aren't exclusive to this option its just that option has them also, anyway I believe that difference will make for a better experience for me.
    You’ve exposed me to the field so much that I’m already considering future options. If I buy another one, it will probably be the Galileo G8+ or something similar. But there’s still time for that. Anyway, thank you so much, and I’ll keep following you. I’m already eager for more content! :)

    • @GameTechTalk

      "but watching you makes it clear you’re a good person" My guy, you're going to make me tear up. Your message is so touching to me, you are the embodiment of what I hope to provide to people, thank you so very much for taking the moment to write me this beautiful comment, really!
      I'm glad you found the product that will serve your needs, and glad to have been an ally in your decision-making. I think you have the best approach, start with something affordable, that scratches many boxes, get acquainted with the "sport" and you know what? If things continue the way they have, the G8+ will be surpassed in a year's time, maybe even 6 months, who's to say. I'll be there then to share with you the latest and greatest options! :)
      I hope to continue to help you determine what your gaming needs are in the future. Cheers!

    The BSP-D9 looks awesome. This video came out at the perfect time for me. I've been trying to find a quality handheld experience with the Switch. Mobapad m6 HD's cramp my hands. NYXI Hyperion Pro's fit nicely and I love the stick caps but the controller randomly disconnects too often. Every telescopic controller i saw before this video has the right joystick positioned in a way that's just as silly and unergonomic as the original joycons. The BSP-D8 right stick looks more to the left than center and the D9 looks like the dream for ergonomics and heavy use of the right stick. Thank you so much.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh man, sorry to hear about the M6-HDs! Yeah the ergonomic of the D9 is definitely it's strongest aspect and easily a top 3 "ergonomics" leader in the entire line up of products I talked about in this video.

    Thanks for putting value as one of the criteria. Now we see that higher price doesn't automatically translate to best experience. Maybe the build quality is top notch, but if I can't enjoy using them, I'm not sure that's a good buy for me. On the flip side, cheap controllers might be the best solution since I commute everyday. If it breaks/lost, at least it's only the controller and not my wallet lol.
    Maybe I'd buy the premium one to use at home, and buy some BSPs for gaming sessions on train/ bus, that seems a good plan.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think that is a great idea. To paraphrase, you have people that always take the same sandwich at McDonald's, then you have the ones that like to alternate from time to time, try the limited edition items. Nothing wrong with being happy with what you like, I believe that I always get closer to knowing what I like by allowing myself to diversify.
      The solution you mentioned by having a premium and BSPs for your commute is an opportunity to do exactly that, diversify. By doing so, you'll have a better grasp of what you definitely prefer down the road, at least that's how I think! Cheers :)

    Could you answer some questions for me? Does the Gamesir X3 Pro connect to an iPhone 16 Pro Max with a case? It would be good if you addressed this issue in your videos, which of them support the device using a case. Is there any possibility of pairing this controller via Bluetooth on iOS? And about the cooler, how many degrees does it lower the temperature of the cell phone?

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  หลายเดือนก่อน

      This video is designed as a "quick feedback", I have a hands-on and full review video on the X3 Pro where I address the exact concern that you had. In the meantime, I am happy to confirm the information you are looking for, the X3 Pro will not work nicely with a case, as in the connector is not long enough for a stable connection, let alone one at all.
      If you prefer to not remove your phone from your case, which I totally understand, I would advise against the X3 Pro as this will be a problem guaranteed. Your two other questions are also answered in the videos I made of this device. Cheers!

    Thank you for the amazing content bro! Been glued to your channel🔥 I am stuck at the moment though, I would love a G8 but its out of my budget - so I have been looking at 3 models that are available here in South Africa and need desperate help picking one lol. The EasySMX M05, the easySMX M15 & the Aobing Max. I can get the aobing max and M05 for the same price - then the M15 is about a third of the price more.
    I like the idea of having a deck style controller like the M05 for my phone but idk if getting a traditional style will be better.
    Alternatively, is it better to save up longer to get the G8+?

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Ahh thanks for the kind words! Personally, I'd say the M15 is worth holding for. In order of preference:
      G8+ > M15 > M05 > AoBing . The one thing that could make the AoBing take more space for you is the 3.5mm but you sacrifice rumble in the mix. Also when talking rumble, the M05 has shown to not have as great compatibility as the M15, don't know why. Ultimately, the M15 is a superior experience, especially if you play first-person shooter games. It can also poll higher and while it may not have as many options as the G8+, it's still extremely close for what it does, the G8+ just ultimately does more.
      If you have no intentions of plucking the controller on a tablet, the M15 is putting you very close without charging you the uplift in price. I hope this helps, cheers!

    Firstly, this is "the" list and your work on telescopic controllers is the best in TH-cam. I want to ask, for bluetooth controllers. How long can a phone go before charging it when it is connected with bluetooth. I will decide according to that info to buy a controller with a bluetooth or only usb-c connection.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Way to boost my ego!! Thank you so very much for the kind words wow!
      It would heavily depend on the game but I would say most modern flagship phones would be able to give you at least 5 hours on a full charge and with a healthy battery, and if not more. And that's when playing "more demanding" games on the App Store / Play Store, there are probably a few exceptions out there like say RE Village on iPhones but if we're talking proper "mobile" games, it'd be a safe bet.
      On less demanding games, it can be much much more!
      Edit: I should also add that phones usually have a much better "fast charging" solution than most so you can also get 50% within 15-30mins of charging on most flagships for another 2-3 hours of gaming.

      Retro gaming is notoriously challenging because emulators have inputs on top of the controllers themselves. Yes but it's a different protocol. Other devices that have both bluetooth and wired don't do that.
      I explain it a bit more into the AoBing review but quite frankly, I would recommend to not put too much thought into it, it's gonna be a useless feature for 99.9% of people to be honest. It was just surprising to see on a controller.

    Does the G8+ support phones with large camera modules? Because I see it listed as S tier almost everywhere I check but they don't mention that aspect....although I think I saw somewhere that when they put a samsung s24 ultra in it it didn't fit properly due to the thickness of the camera module. Could you confirm this?

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes and no, no because I don't have the S24 Ultra but I do have a Galaxy Z Fold 4 that has a very similar array of camera placement. When you crack it open, the cameras will not all fit into the cove that gets created by stretching the controller, so you would need to remove the little tab and with that removed, you're good to go. With that said, because the G8+ has complete case compatibility, my preferred approach (and what I do with my phone) is that I have a case that makes the camera module flush to the case. It's very common to prevent the cameras from being damaged from a fall or something.
      With that on, you never have to worry about the tab, I like that approach best personally.

    • @GameTechTalk

      Technically, based off of what I recall from the software, there is no "power only" mode meaning that by playing wired, which you can do btw, the controller will be powered by the phone, but would technically also charge the battery at the same time, based off of how much power is being sent from your phone.
      So the result is more dependant on the phone/tablet than anything else as not every device output the same power from their port. And yes, $40 for a G8+ is a steal!

  • @flyaway6671
    @flyaway6671 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have to disagree with the BSP D8 Pro being S tier, it's still a good controller for the money but there are some key issues.
    The main being the ergonomics and button placements which in general just cause me to lag when playing more action intensive games, I just can't move freely and am distracted by how it's just that much un free flowing when it comes to moving your fingers around and pressing buttons.
    To be specific, the grip is an issue. My hands aren't locked in like holding most controllers/portables, my little fingers are not locked so that means a loose uncomfortable grip.
    Best way to test grip is just to hold the controller with 1 hand and you will feel that you cannot manage the weight of the tablet, even a phone will slide out of your grip.
    I have an old, pretty basic cheap controller and I put in my biggest heaviest tablet and I can still maintain grip due to the shape of the controller.
    Also the Switch can pop out slightly with 1 hand as the controller doesn't lock onto it with enough of the plastic lip so if you don't notice it, the Switch can fall out and hit the floor.
    Due to the shape and grip, it is also very hard to use the D-pad as the main input, I'm forced to use the stick to play platformers as the Dpad feels awkward to use, I can only use it as option buttons in other games.
    Moving the D-pad very quickly left and right is also awkward feeling, a bit too loud and harsh metal on plastic feedback that takes you out of the game.
    The analog sticks are too small but tbh it's easily solvable with buying thumb covers for the Switch, not a perfect fit but improves the control to a point it's not an issue but it still counts against the product as it comes.
    Not even taking into account the small quality control issues (inconsistent feel on buttons) and general noob friendliness outside the box (eg. bad instructions, have to research how to turn off terribly distracting RGB, ABXY buttons are reversed on Switch out of the box and you need to learn how to change that instead of it doing it automatically.)
    Ultimately, with the thumbstick mod I would class this as a B tier overall for Switch, maybe it will feel better on a phone but the ergonomic feel is just not good enough to be A or better.

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Your comment is a perfect reflection of the plight of a reviewer. I get your stance, I sincerely do. I have to remind myself that I'm not only making these videos for people that value stick quality, that's why the D8 Pro is S-tier in the list, because it will achieve so much for so many people that simply do not care for what many of the better options have over the D8 Pro.
      The D8 Pro can still be used on tablets, on phones, with Switch, on PC, you can use gyro, have rumble, there's so little that this controller cannot do but I agree that what it does, it certainly doesn't do as good as the S-tiers in the list, that's where each product has their strength but I can't deny the D8 Pro of it's greatest assets, it's value and the versatility that it provides for it.
      Thanks for your inputs, I really enjoyed reading your perspective. Cheers!

    I hope someone can release a controller for big camera bumps. I've tried almost everything and still can't find one that fits my phone snug without popping out

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  หลายเดือนก่อน

      What phone do you have? Also, if your phone has accessories that can even out the camera bump, that fixes the issue for most controllers that have a flexible connector like the GameSir ones and EasySMX ones. That or a BSP which is so deep (they are designed to work with Switch too) completely cancels out the issue.

      @@GameTechTalk I got the honor magic 6 pro. The camera just doesn't fit in that gap. I tried every gamesir. I thought the x3 pro would work with the movable cooler, even that don't. Same with the M15. I guess I have to try the BSP. Hopefully that will work since it's deep.

      It's a steal for $20! That's the one thing with the EasySMX, they list it at 60 but everyone I hear about paid considerably less. But they list it at 60 so that's what I have to refer to. @ $20 regular, that would've been a S for sure ahahahaah!

    Hey, the x2s is a b while x2s bluethooth is a c, in the review you say it's practically the same, so the tier difference is due to BT's price?

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a mix of many things, one aspect is how the X2s BT is in a sub-section that has seen alternatives since, such as the JK02 that pushes its perceived value down.
      Conversely, the X2s USB-C, often being shown for less in cost than BT, retains all of what makes it great, on top of having overall better performance due to being an immediate connection. I think the performance element could've been mitigated if the X2s BT had been BT 5.2 or 5.3, I don't think GameSir confirms that information as I remember looking for it but I'm pretty sure it's a 5.0 protocol which is from an era where Bluetooth wasn't too focused on latency.

      @azzzzuuuu หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow, great explanation! you really are a true expert in that matter. Thanks, im on the fence with this one, the market is really bad in my country so for now I'll get either the x2s or x2s bt na then after some time I'll check what's best, maybe the g8+'s price will be acceptable

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@azzzzuuuu My best advice would be, if you have an iPhone, go X2s BT, because the USB-C model can't be configured on iOS.
      If you have an android and don't care for Bluetooth, go the USB-C model, it's better in latency and overall reliability, plus no need to charge it.
      The X2s BT's biggest advantage over USB-C is that it looks so much better! 🤣

      If you got the monnies for it, all good, that's really the one major gripe with it, the rest is just preferences or competition coming up with more features over time, etc. I'm excited for the S9 to ship!

    Abxylute S9 for £65 or Gamsir G8 Plus for £62? Android phone, but I have a Tab S7 Plus that I might want to use (either in desktop mode or in the controller)

      @GameTechTalk  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If for you being connected at all times and a 3.5mm jack are important, Abxylute S9 would be the ideal pick. On the other hand, the G8Plus feels as good, and can better fit multiple devices including the Switch. It also provides a better tethered and untethered approach overall.

    Help me out as I'm abit confused. Androiid mobile user, enjoy fortnite and have gamepas, and rumble and cooling would be nice. D8 Pro, D10s, MO5, M15 or JK02? What would you be recommending??

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well I would want to ask you how much heat throttling is a problem for you? Because if it's only a little, I'd say go M15. If it's a lot, I'd say that the JK02 is probably your best bet but the sticks are quite aggressive in their curve, you should watch the review I made of it, you'll see what I mean by the sticks being aggressive. Cheers!

      Finally how does m15 stack against memo s3?

    • @GameTechTalk
      @GameTechTalk  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@alexgroves91 Well if you compare M15 vs Memo S3 phone edition, it's literally the exact same controller. If you compare M15 to Memo S3 tablet, it's exactly the same controller except that the Tablet edition supports wider devices and can still work with phone (albeit not as comfortably as the phone edition).
      They are both great products with the tablet edition just being slightly more versatile but potentially less compatible with a handful of phones.
