Loved it! I think this has to be my favorite of your limited palette challenges yet. Those skin tones are gorgeous.
I think in a way by choosing the complementaries its like you are doing CMY mixing but you've combined two of the primaries into one secondary - in this case cyan and yellow into a premixed hookers green. This makes for a fun challenge to see what you can do with magenta, white and black!

What a great result! I was looking for scheme for my Acolytes a few months ago before forgetting, methinks I could give this a try!

So with a cooler green you could get a slightly bluish grey for steel vs the more bronze feel you got on the metallic with or oranges and greens.

That's almost certainly what you'd get!

Impressive end result over all but for me the shield was the surprise. Early stages I couldn't see where you were going with that but it all tied together nicely and the finished shield is really interesting. Purple and green are classic comic villain colours that can look extremely garish if overdone but you nailed it. I would definitely have been tempted to work some green into the mask though as a nod to Green Goblin!

Thanks! Yeah, the shield was really fun to do -- trying to keep in that yellow zone. Generally my take this time was to try and get surprising results for the palette, since I feel like so many of the colours it makes are unexpected

Wait... why did you start with 4 paints that don't match your finished mdoel 4 color pallet? That kinda seems like a waste of those 4 paints(Unless those were all you could afford/had on hand/were cheap.) and like you were showing off your mixing skills like your were saying hey look at me as a make these 4 colors into another 4 colors! A much better challenged I think in the same sprit would be. To use just flat medium Red, Yellow, Blue, white and black aka just the primary colors and hues and you must never use them straight up they must be mixed somehow.

The challenge is about colour mixing, yes. And there is much more to primary colours than just Red, Blue and Yellow!
I'd recommend watching his other videos in this series and other videos on colour theory to get the idea behind it.
In this case Magenta is a primary (from the CMY primary system) with the green being a two pigment secondary color - cyan+yellow.
You definitely can paint with the Red Blue Yellow primary system btw - just you will have a different gamut of achievable colours you can reach depending on what you use. Contrary to popular belief you *can't* mix all possible colours from just red, blue and yellow!
