      K M Give it time, I was Catholic for42 years, and now I am 55. It took years to find a church that was not a religion (The devils playground) but now, I actually have a relationship with Christ. Never could say that as a Catholic. Well, I guess I may have said it, but did not really understand it. Now I do.

      K M ...please know that you’re being prayed for! It took me a long time to figure out who I was after leaving the Catholic Church. I knew I was saved, but Protestants spoke a completely different language than I was used to. BUT....just stay in God’s Word. He will lead you & direct you. Plus, worship isn’t irrelevant, it’s just different in Protestant churches. In time, you will feel more comfortable, so hang in there. And know that people are praying. Blessings.....

      Leaving Gods Holy Catholic Church is to withdraw from Jesus ..... The first church-its growth, doctrine, and practices-were recorded for us in the New Testament. Jesus, as well as His apostles, foretold that false teachers would arise, and indeed it is apparent from some of the New Testament epistles that these apostles had to fight against false teachers early on. Having a pedigree of apostolic succession or being able to trace a church’s roots back to the "first church" is important to show true consistency for being the true church. What is given is repeated comparisons between what false teachers teach and what the first church taught, as recorded in Scripture. Whether a church is the "true church" or not is also determined by comparing its teachings and practices to that of the New Testament church, as recorded in Scripture.
      For instance, in Acts 20:17-38, the Apostle Paul has an opportunity to talk to the church leaders in the large city of Ephesus one last time face to face. In that passage, he tells them that false teachers will not only come among them but will come FROM them (vv. 29-30). Paul commits them to the safekeeping of "God and to the word of His grace" (v. 32). Thus, truth could also be determined by depending upon God and "the word of His grace" (i.e., Scripture, see John 10:35). So we have the prediction that the protestant Churches would come from within .... the Catholic Church (at the reformation )

      Stop LYING!!! The Catholic's pagan offerings to Nimrod, Semiramis, and Tammuz, is the Eucharist ritual that they do every SUNday. Just look at the Monstrous, its Baal (another name for Nimrod) Pagan Sun worship, as the Sun shaped host is placed in the Crescent Moon (Semiramis, Ashtoreth, Astarte, etc), symbolizing the ancient Pagan Sex Act bringing forth the crowned and conquering new Sun (Tammuz), with the union of the Sun and the Moon deities. This is nothing more than RENAMED Babylonian Paganism. There is a massive Pagan Obelisk in the center of Vatican Square, which the big circle is a Pagan Solar Sun Wheel.

    • @pkat
      @pkat 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Actually Mike Gendron is absolutely correct, Jesus made the offering, Jesus laid down his life, not you not some priest, Jesus. It says nineteen times the Catechism says that the catholic church is offering up Jesus as a sacrifice. In John 6:44-66 the Jews are talking about bread and wine made of wheat and grapes, while Jesus is talking about bread and wine made of the Holy Spirit. Communion is a commemoration of the offering He made for our sins, eucharist is an unbiblical invention of the Council of Trent in 1545 and it says so in the catechism paragraphs 1376 and 1413
      The whole of Christianity is summed up in John 6:40 which you have ignored
      For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

      Look, dude, sorry if I know more about your religion than you do, I've been blessed with an inquiring mind and a Catholic upbringing and education. And I truly forgive you for your false accusations (you know, calling me a liar for presenting you with honest, documented facts), you were probably speaking from the heart and as a man of the bible you know what Jesus said about the heart: ""For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders." (Matthew 15:19)
      As for the Catechism having over 1,000 bible references - so what? In Matthew 4:6 Satan attempted to tempt Christ and quoted the bible twice. (For your edification it was Psalm 91:11-12) If you noticed, the Catechism also quotes the Council of Trent quite often. The council of Trent is most famous for contradicting the bible and handing down anathema which only God can do. (Canons 9, 12, 13, 14, 23, 24, 30, and 33)
      As for your ignorance of what what the Catechism says, look up Paragraph 1330, 1350, 1359, 1360, 1361, 1362, 1364,1365, 1366 (especially), 1367 (even more so)
      Let me offer you some advice out of love - do what I did, sit down and read the bible, the whole bible, cover to cover, verse by verse "and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." (John 8:32)

      Preaching from Christian radio programs and also reading the scripture on my own helped break my programming. Just comparing the difference from "Catholic radio" which had no bible and very little preaching versus The Christian radio stations which would have numerous, world renowned preachers, preaching from the bible was a profound awakening for me. I even talked with other ex-Catholics one which said in regard to this comparison "with the Catholic station it is a BIG NOTHING!" Yes, that is one great way to deprogram and it takes time, but the "born again" process will carry one through.

It is laughable to suggest there is brainwashing from which you need to be deprogrammed!! Hilarious!! When you say you were raised a Catholic, I presume you were from a nominal Catholic background where your family were not committed Catholics who read their scripture and attended Church. Or maybe they were very religious Catholics who did the weird so-called Catholic things that are not in fact Catholic or Christian.

      Patrick Runcie, Ex-Catholics like they never really practiced their faith enough to know sound Catholic teaching. They become ex-Catholics for emotional or social reasons, or refuse to accept 2000 year old moral teachings on Matrimony and the evil consequences of the cotraceptive mentality. They may have an authentic encounter with Christ at another church, and make the false conclusion that Jesus is not in the Church they grew up in. They become influenced by slick sounding ministers who have no qualms about LYING about what Catholics really believe, or read books by hate cultists who distort the facts of history and breed contempt and intolerance. Or they come across "Christian" web sites that gives them the same adrenaline rush as Chick Publications or Dave Hunt. It's a form of spiritual pornography and these bigots are the crack dealers of anti-Catholic bigoty, selling their "religion" in the slums of fear and ignorance, on the look out for weak ignorant Catholics to exploit. When a Protestant converts to Catholicism, he/she may revere their former church, and even attend. Animousity is rare. But when a Catholic turns his back on the Eucharist, he beomes an anti-Catholic. And the real reasons are never about theology. If that were the case, why are so many Protestant Bible scholars and ministers converting to Catholicism? I have a list. Starting with the President of the Evangelical Society who returned to the Church just last year: Franscis Beckwith... and then there is Robert Koons...professor of philosophy at U. of Texas...and .... Richard & Danielle Borgman: Evangelicals , Dr.Scott Hahn , Former United Methodist - Marcus Grodi, Tim Staples: Former Assemblies of God Youth Minister , Kristine Franklin & Rosalind Moss: Former Evangelical & Jewish Convert .

      aughalough 1- I never questioned my Catholic faith but when I read the history of the Popes I was deeply saddened and disgusted. Their degenerate behaviour and persecution throughout the centuries towards people who simply wanted to read the Bible in their own language started me on a long and painful journey away from Catholicism. When Pope Francis was elected, I read the Jesuit Oath and was shocked once more. I do miss the Eucharist. I will agree with you on that but even today, with countless new clerical sex abuse scandals coming to light (40% of Priests in one Australian order) I can no longer be part of this corrupt entity called The Catholic Church. Indeed, I agree with Pope Paul VI, who stated back in 1972 that 'the smoke of Satan had entered the Church'. The Bible is now my guide - especially John 3.16 which has helped me heal and place my trust in Christ alone.

However, you still as a Catholic have to believe in Adam and Eve under the pain of Mortal sIn. Meaning if you don't believe in Adam and Eve you will in fact go to hell according to the popes who used the keys of David to bind these laws on earth and Jesus has bond in heaven. Without Adam and Eve there is no Jesus and therefore no Catholic mass and bible. As the science shows us that we did in fact come from one man scientific Adam and one woman Mitochondrial Eve. But the the evolution part is still a theory as pope John Paul the great pointed out it is a theory bec it has a probability rate. Pope Benedict pointed out that the probability rate for evolution is less than 1%.

      Found this article by Bob Sullivan
      Mike Gendron says he is a former Catholic who has been saved by the Bible. He travels the United States whenever he can, in search of Catholics who will buy his books, tracts and his version of Scripture. He also publishes a lot of misinformation on the internet. His entire mission is to convince Catholics that they need to separate themselves from the Catholic Church if they want to end up in Heaven someday. There is a lot of dishonesty in Mike’s approach to his “ministry”, but the one consistent truth behind everything he does is this: Mike is allergic to facts. He sees things his way and his way only. If you present a simple fact to him that runs contrary to his personal interpretation, he stomps off like an angry child. I know because this is exactly how he behaved when I showed up at one of his “Bible Conferences” with one of my buddies. To see what I’m talking about, you can read here, I think you will find it very entertaining.
      The events leading up to that article are kind of interesting as well, as are some things that occured after Mr. Gendron visited Nebraska on that occasion.
      Several months prior to my meeting with Mr. Gendron, I wrote a letter to a local church, correcting the minister on numerous misunderstandings his particular church apparently held regarding the Catholic Church. The minister did not appreciate the information I provided him, but he did pass my letter off to a group of guys who had a solution in mind and that solution was that hey would hire Mike Gendron to come to Lincoln, Nebraska, to debate me. On Mike Gendrons website I discovered that he was going to put on a little “Bible Conference” in Central City, Nebraska. I decided to attend some of his event in order to see how he behaved during his “conference”. That is how the Catholic Answers article came about.
      After my visit with Mr. Gendron, I let a few weeks pass before I contacted the group of Christians in Lincoln, regarding the upcoming debate. At that point, Mr. Ball informed me that they had cancelled the debate. I had hoped that Mr. Gendron would not have gotten cold feet after our brief encounter in Central City, but alas, he must have decided he would be better off avoiding the debate.
      It is evident that the pastor of the little church in Central City caught a significant amount of criticism for the way he handled the situation when I had Mr. Gendron backed into a corner at the end of the second night of his “Bible Conference”. A few weeks later, he posted his sermon, justifying his unchristian behavior toward me. . In a nutshell, the pastor explained that he had to treat me uncharitably in order to protect them from the information I was offering them. I’ve since reached out to Pastor Prettyman, but he has not accepted my offer to sit down for a private discussion.
      A few months ago, I joined one of Mike’s facebook pages and at one point, he engaged me in a brief discussion after one of this blatantly false posts. When I provided Scripture passages and historical facts to show how incorrect he was, he blocked me. I then emailed him and offered to debate him at an upcoming event of his in northern Kansas.
      The point of all of this is to show several things about Mike Gendron:
      He is dishonest;
      His information is indefensible when his Scripture, Catechism and historical references are placed in context and he appears to realize this weakness;
      He relies heavily on people to protect him from situations in which his claims are about to be proven false;
      He does not actually practice what he preaches; He does not engage in honest dialogue regarding Scripture or the actual teachings of the Catholic Church.

    so he claimed that he opened the bible for the first timer at 34 years of age But he previously said he had been a devout Catholic attending Mass and altar boy etc In the Mass we have 3 bible readings on weekdays and four on Sunday (counting the psalms) the main prayer is in accordance with John 6 The Body and blood of Christ (with direct quotes) This man contradicts himself often and mis represents Catholicism ... The reason why the reformation was successful was because Kings and Princes in Europe wanted the lands and wealth of the Church and in England Henry VIII wanted a divorce from his wife of 20 + years ... People did not decide for themselves ... But when Protestantism got a foothold the Catholic Church needed to explain about the truth of Christ and counter the lies told about Catholicism -- the Gendron repeats often like --- Catholics believe that have Mary as an alternative to Jesus --- Catholic Catechism "" Mary has the role of leading us to Christ" and "Worship is reserved for the Godhead alone (Father Son and Holy Spirit)" All Catholic sacraments are directly to God (Mary does not even get a mention in most sacraments)

    "And what I was being taught as a Catholic was diametrically opposed to what the bible was teaching me in regards to salvation". Then he states that ""I read that we are saved by grace apart from merit; by faith apart from works; that Jesus was my all sufficient saviour; to repent of all the things I was doing to help Him save me etc., etc." It is strange that the "first" time he begins reading a bible he goes to all the Protestant strap lines, taken out of context as they inevitably are. We Catholics believe, as per scripture and Church teaching throughout the ages, that we are saved entirely by having faith in Jesus Christ, as Romans 10:9 says, "If anyone believes in their heart that Jesus is Lord, and confesses with their lips that He was raised from the dead, they will be saved." Also, in Ephesians 2 from verse 8, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9 not by works, so that no one can boast." But what no Protestant ever goes on to quote is verse 10, "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do". Of course we are saved by the grace and work of God through Jesus; that's what all Christians have believed for 2000 years! But unless we have works to demonstrate that we are saved, then I am sorry, scripture says we are NOT saved. Remember the parable of the goats and the sheep. The goats were damned because they believed in God but did not demonstrate that their faith was true. The Catholic position on this is fully thought out, complete and is not a sound-bite. It is proper theology and doctrine which should not be dismissed or denigrated.
    The interviewer then goes on to share that he has encountered Catholics who don't read the bible and when they do they realise that the bible and Church teachings are opposed. So much to comment on!! Firstly, many Catholics are Catholic in name only and are ripe for conversion and in need of salvation - so please, please share your faith with any Catholic who has not been evangelised and send them back to their roots in the Catholic Church where they will be nurtured and brought up in the faith and presented to God, chaste and holy.
    There are 1.3 billion Catholics worldwide, buy you can be sure than many of them, maybe the majority are not committed Catholics who have been evangelised properly and of course will not be reading scripture regularly. I have encountered many Protestants who are in the same boat i.e. who are nominal Protestants who also do not read or know scripture. Because those Catholics do not have a grounding in the faith, they won't actually know what true Church teaching is.
    Regarding Church teachings being opposed to biblical truth, that is simply not true - what else can I say. And no, I will not respond to requests to answer a thousand questions about specific teachings as in my experience we just go down multiple rabbit holes to no avail. If people are genuinely interested in what the Church truly teaches then I am happy to engage.

      you are welcome .... I found the truth in HIS Catholic Church...
So we have the prediction that the protestant Churches would come from within .... the Catholic Church (at the reformation ) As the bible was not compiled until 390's at the Council of Rome and Synod of Hippo we also know it must not be scripture alone for out of Catholicism we got the compilation of the Bible !!!

    Four cardinals have made a request to Pope Francis to clarify grave errors in his apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia. Some of the errors they cited Pope Francis as making include the following:
    • No one is condemned to hell
    • The divorced and civilly remarried are not in a state of serious sin, and they can receive sanctifying grace and grow in charity.
    • A Catholic can have full knowledge of the law and voluntarily choose to break it in a serious matter, but not be in a state of mortal sin.
    • A person with full knowledge of a divine law can sin by choosing to obey that law.
    • One’s conscience can judge that sexual sins can sometimes be morally right or requested or commanded by God.
    • Jesus wills that the Church abandon her discipline of refusing the Eucharist to the divorced and remarried and of refusing absolution to the divorced and remarried who do not express contrition.
    Cardinal Burke says if Pope Francis won’t clarify these “serious errors,” the Cardinals must make a “formal act of correction.”
    Just in case you didn't know, Mr. AJA "Deacon" these Cardinals are following proper canonical process. This step of making a 'Formal act of correction' is, according to RCC discipline, the first step in declaring someone - anyone including the pope - a formal heretic. According to Cardinal Burk "There is, in the Tradition of the Church, the practice of correction of the Roman Pontiff. It is something that is clearly quite rare. But if there is no response to these questions, then it would be a question of taking a formal act of correction of a serious error.”

    A Catholic for 37 years? How on earth did he not encounter Jesus during all that time? I don’t think it was the Church’s fault that he neglected the most important aspects of being a Catholic - to know, love and serve God. I simply do not recognise this man’s understanding of Catholicism.
    The Catholic Church is the Church called by Jesus, appointed by Him with leaders called and anointed by Him to lead it forward with the grace and power of the Holy Spirit. I can’t believe he designates early apostates as being the ancestors of Catholics today is simply mind-boggling and requires doing violence to the Word of God. When you state something like this as being the "truth", how are people who do not know better going to handle it, except to accept it as the truth? The truth is that the Church has been attacked by so many men like this for 2000 years; it shouldn't be a surprise to me as the Lord promised that this would be the case. It still shocks me though, when it comes from people who you would think should know better.
    I am a Catholic Christian, and very proud to be so. I encountered Jesus through the action of the Holy Spirit when I was 17 and have found in the Catholic Church - it’s teachings, its ministers, its art, it’s wonderful Christ-centre liturgies - an absolute treasure. On top of that we have long list of holy men and women going back to Jesus, who have brought the scriptures to us, and who constantly bring life to the Body of Christ. Why on earth would I or anyone else, give that up?
    Mr Gendron says he was the first person to bring scripture study to a Catholic Church in Dallas. What he does not make clear is the context. The context is that every single day each Mass throughout the world has three to four readings from scripture, which is proclaimed in the sermon of the priest. Also, each priest, nun, and serious lay person reads the Office of the Catholic Church multiple times per day. The Office is a series of hymns, psalms, scripture readings, prayers and inspiring words. It was wonderful that Mr Gendron shared a bible study in a Catholic Church, but please do not mislead the listeners that Catholicism is devoid of Scriptural knowledge or experience.
    I have only watched 1.5 minutes of this interview and it is so far from any truth that I will take a break and may come back to it, to give the man a chance to speak some truth.

      I found the truth in HIS Catholic Church...
So we have the prediction that the protestant Churches would come from within .... the Catholic Church (at the reformation ) As the bible was not compiled until 390's at the Council of Rome and Synod of Hippo we also know it must not be scripture alone for out of Catholicism we got the compilation of the Bible !!!

      What propaganda Matthew? Quit drinking the protestant kool aid and investigate the true Church of Jesus Christ. Read the Bible and see that Peter was in fact designated the leader of HIS Church by Jesus Christ himself. Of course Jesus is the cornerstone of our faith, but Jesus needed a leader with the Authority to decide matters of faith and morals once Jesus ascended. Jesus KNEW what he was doing. and he spent 3 years with his Apostles teaching them and leading by his example. After he left, he empowered the 12 with the Holy Spirit and the Church grew like wildfire. The Apostles HAD NO BIBLES. Repeat, the APOSTLES HAD NO BIBLES. So how did the early Christians worship and spread the faith? By word of mouth, by the oral tradition. The first Bible was not compiled until long after the last Apostle breathed his last. Yet the Church continued to grow even in the face of persecution and numerous heresies against the faith (Arianism, Donatism, Gnosticism, etc) which were all defeated by the Holy Spirit. Look at history for yourself and see the truth. Yes Jesus used flawed men to grow his Church. Peter denied him three times; Thomas doubted; Paul persecuted the early Christians. Yet Jesus used these flawed men and made them great Saints. The Catholic Church has the Authority of the Pope, while protestants have NOTHING. When protestors argue, they just start a new church. How convenient. How sinful. How arrogant that any man thinks he knows better than Christ Jesus.

    Where did the Bible come from? Who do you think put the Old Testament and New Testament together and gave the world the first Bible?
    It was the Catholic Church, and Saint Jerome in particular around trhe year 400 AD. Before that, no Bible. Does that mean there was no faith?

    Martin Luther to Pope Leo X, January 6, 1519 “I never approved of a schism, nor will I approve of it for all eternity. . . . That the Roman Church is more honored by God than all others is not to be doubted. St, Peter and St. Paul, forty-six Popes, some hundreds of thousands of martyrs, have laid down their lives in its communion, having overcome Hell and the world; so that the eyes of God rest on the Roman church with special favor. Though nowadays everything is in a wretched state, it is no ground for separating from the Church. On the contrary, the worse things are going, the more should we hold close to her, for it is not by separating from the Church that we can make her better. We must not separate from God on account of any work of the devil, nor cease to have fellowship with the children of God who are still abiding in the pale of Rome on account of the multitude of the ungodly. There is no sin, no amount of evil, which should be permitted to dissolve the bond of charity or break the bond of unity of the body. For love can do all things, and nothing is difficult to those who are united". -

    Where did Jesus say faith alone without works will lead you to salvation. St Paul also teaches only what he got from the gospels and he did not say faith alone. Paul wrote it to jews which mean what they believe was they need circumcision and need to observe laws of Torah in order to be saved (GOOD WORKS which you called it MERITS) but no he taught baptism through Christ and keeping the faith saves them. Epistle of James quotes "Faith alone without works is dead".

    • @joanhermoso8116
      @joanhermoso8116 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rangsil Momin "Faith alone without works is dead" True. Let's take this man's life for example. He has faith in Jesus, he's had that both whilst he was still a Catholic and businessman, and when he left the church; he, on both times had faith in Jesus.
      However, when he was still catholic, whilst he had "faith", did he do good works for God's kingdom? According to him he had all the riches anyone could enjoy in the world. He never mentioned doing anything with the wealth he had to help others, or to share God's truth to others, or use what he's got for God's glory.
      Now, when he finally truly came to know Jesus, and ACCEPTED Him into his life, truly repented of all his sins, only then did his life changed, and transformation happened. He GAVE UP his business pursuits to know more about Jesus, and to share the truth of the Gospel to others who do not know it. Now, that is GOOD WORKS with FAITH.
      So, what's different? The difference is, when he accepted Jesus as His Lord and Saviour, Jesus sent his Holy Spirit (the Life that Jesus talks about in the bible, that will save people from death) into this man's life, and changed him to be more Christ like. That change that Christians talk about, is not a conscious decision people make to turn their life around. It is impossible to do that, without relapsing. This, my friend, is the work of the Holy Spirit in this man's life. The "good works" he does now, by leaving his business pursuits to follow Jesus, use their home to share the truth of the gospel, are the fruits of the Holy Spirit in his life. -----
      "Faith alone without works is dead" EXACTLY. He had faith before as a Catholic yet did not do good works. He still has faith, even more faith actually, now that He has left the church and found Jesus, and hence came after BECAUSE of that encounter - his good works.
      This is the evidence of what being truly saved looks like.
      Good works comes as a result of Faith! True transformative Faith in Jesus Christ alone

    • @rangsilandrew3542
      @rangsilandrew3542 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joanhermoso8116 If you meant Good works done (not comes) motivated by your faith then you have ally in me. It is called living faith. Otherwise we'd be just preaching without practicing like phareesees.
      But Why Christ alone?
      Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is the word of God and He is the way to Our Father. The way is to do the will of the Father by immitating how Jesus showed to us. Notice that everytime people praised our Lord, He always deflects the attention towards the Father.
      So the truth is We have to do the Will of the Father, the way Jesus taught us and follow Him faithfull in all situations (not lukewarm) and to accomplish it, the Father sends us Holy Spirit through Baptism (not born again of flesh like what nicodemus understood but born newly of Spirit) and the Son Jesus sends us the Helper (Holy Spirit).

  • @kkdoc7864

    I too left Catholicism after 12 years in their educational system. I must tell you that when I was a little girl, I had such an amazing love for Jesus. He was God, part of the trinity, who died for my sins and was resurrected now sitting in heaven having become the final sacrifice for my salvation. I was able to separate the problems with catholic doctrine from the truth of scripture once I started reading the Bible until the differences could not justify staying. Initially I was angry, but that faith brought me Jesus and the Niceness Creed which is their core belief definitely agrees with the Bible. Be careful when you accuse Catholics of following a TOTALLY false gospel. They got into trouble because of the popes and tradition.
    Catholic communion as I learned it was not sacrificing Jesus over and over again at all. It is their understanding that when Jesus said “This is my body and this is my blood,” that you should eat and drink of him, and “do this in memory of me,” was a literal translation to be followed.
    I have a problem with the following issues, which is why I left: 1) purgatory which minimizes Christ’s sacrifice 2) papal infallibility that opposes biblical truth 3). Indulgences or pass cards to get out of purgatory 4) priests being able to call down the Creator to be in a “host” 5) confessions heard by priests when Christ is our only mediator. (Priesthood really should have ended the moment the temple veil was torn in two 6) infant baptism 7) devotion to Mary saying she was born without sin and was assumed into heaven making her almost an equal with the Godhead. (calling Mary the “mother of God” in the rosary for eg 8) praying to saints instead of Christ. 9) their claim that it’s the only true church 10). Church rules, sacraments, feast days that do not agree with scripture.
    I think you are being too harsh, though, generalizing that Catholics are going to hell following a “false gospel”. If you ask most of them, Jesus is the center of everything and they disagree with lots of things about the tradition teachings of the church especially since bible studies are common now. I think it’s great that Francis is screwing up cause it is opening the eyes of Catholics who believe in infallibility.

I won't waste any more time on someone who is so obviously ignorant of the Bible. If he really would read the Bible with an unbiased mind he would see it confirms the Catholic Church. "Faith without works is dead." That itself eliminate most if not all Protestant religions. St. Peter was the rock upon which Jesus built His Church and given the keys to heaven. If you believe Jesus do what He commands. He commanded works on many occasions. Works are a response to faith and grace. They are not a way to earn heaven. Works without faith, if that is possible, would also be dead.

      This is false. This is what you have been taught to believe but not supported biblically. The rock that Jesus spoke of was Peter's confession of faith as to the identity of who Jesus was. The catholic church's interpretation of Matthew is nothing more than an overreach of men who wanted to place themselves between you and God so they could peddle salvation. Religions are what Satan uses to separate us from God.

      @@rickdavis2235 "Thou art Cephas and upon Cephas I will build My Church." Aramaic only has one word for rock. That was the language of Jesus and the apostles. It can't be any simpler or more concrete than that. Jesus built His Church on Peter and his current successor is Pope Francis. Matthew 16:19 "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven,[a] and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Do you believe Jesus? John 20:23 "Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.”
      Jesus promised to sent the Holy Spirit to be with His Church and guide it to the end of time. Simple and straight forward. Read the Church fathers who learned from the apostles such as John teaching Ignatius of Antioch teaching Polycarp and on. The early Church which began being called Catholic in about 100 AD taught the same gospel, worshiped with the same Mass, had the same sacraments as the Catholic Church has today.
      1500 years after Christ, a gap of 1500 years, a bunch of people suddenly thought they knew more than the early Church fathers, who learned from the apostles, did and in heresy changed Church teachings. Had some in the Church gotten off the path and living sinful lives including selling indulgences? Yes. Did that change any doctrine from Jesus, the doctrines of the Catholic Church? No. but unfortunately some were not following them. Did Jesus have sinful apostles? Yes. Judas conspired to murder Jesus. Peter denied Jesus 3 times. The other apostles ran away in fear. Lots of sinners in that bunch. I would say all were just as we all are. That doesn't change anything that Jesus taught.

      I found the truth in HIS Catholic Church...
So we have the prediction that the protestant Churches would come from within .... the Catholic Church (at the reformation ) As the bible was not compiled until 390's at the Council of Rome and Synod of Hippo we also know it must not be scripture alone for out of Catholicism we got the compilation of the Bible !!!

    Why do these people have to tear down fellow Christians to "proclaim Christ"? Mike Gendron is NOT an expert on Catholicism. He gets many teachings totally wrong. Please assess Catholicism on its teachings, which can be found easily in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Each page of the Catechism is filled with the Bible, which by the way, was put together by the Church following many years of oral tradition. Some errors in this presentation: the Pope is not infallible in ALL he says -- it is a very rare occurrence when the Pope speaks infallibly and I don't believe Pope Francis has ever spoken infallibly. I do agree that his comments carry much weight and have been confusing at times. Also at each Mass, Catholics follow Jesus' command to "do this in memory of me." We believe in Christ as the "once and for all sacrifice" that exists eternally--we do not practice repeated sacrifices; we recall and celebrate Christ's eternal and complete sacrifice at every Mass. In fact, we cling to faith in Christ through that eternal sacrifice as the only way to be saved. The Mass re-presents this sacrifice and by the power of this one, eternal sacrifice, offers us the real body and blood of Christ, in accordance with Jesus' command and with the bread of life discourses in John 6.

So we have the prediction that the protestant Churches would come from within .... the Catholic Church (at the reformation ) As the bible was not compiled until 390's at the Council of Rome and Synod of Hippo we also know it must not be scripture alone for out of Catholicism we got the compilation of the Bible !!!

      The Catechism is a separate and unbiblical document/doctrine, which should be a huge red flag to you from the get-go. Many years of oral tradition (man-made and deceptive teachings).

      Yes, repentance is not a work of man, but a grace of God, as Romans 2:4 say, "Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?"

      Vicki,
      But an individual man has to decide if he is going to repent or not. Taking that action is doing a work. And when Jesus invitied us to follow him he told us to pick up our crosses. That involves many works and sacrifices.

      Repentance in greek is "metanoia" meaning a change of mind. It doesn't seem to be a work. More a response by faith.

      In the Bible, Romans 10:9-10 tells us, "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
      But, like any free gift, it must be accepted. God promises that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved (Acts 2:21). To grab hold of God’s promise, pray right now: “Dear Jesus, forgive me of my sins. Be my Savior.” Jesus in turn will remove your guilt and make you a brand new person inside, and when you die, He promises you will live forever with Him (John 10:28-29). The relationship with God is restored. You are a new creation, and considered a child of God (John 1:12).
      By belief in God's Son Jesus you no longer stand condemned in God's eyes for your sin, as Romans 8:1-2 tells us, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death."
      Once saved, you are a whole new creation, as 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!"

      Can you watch this with your parents and ask them? I’m only 11 minutes in but the quote he used from the Pope is out of context. I am a former Protestant in the process of becoming a Catholic. There is no way he was a Catholic snd never read the Bible, Catholics read more of the Bible in one church service than Protestants do in a month.

      No one is born Catholic...you weren't born believing this stuff, your family taught it to you. Jesus says in John 3:3, 'You must be born again.'

    • @RS54321
      @RS54321 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@happydaymakers3269 That is an anecdotal claim that you made (Catholics read more of the Bible in one church service than Protestants do in a month (I'm assuming you also mean in church service...if so, you certainly haven't been to every Christian church to even make this claim!)). Also, someone could read through the whole Bible (or read more of it in a church service than another church) and it won't make a world of difference if they aren't putting their faith in Jesus and putting the Word into practice. James 1:22-25
      You reference the Bible as though it's of importance but say you are becoming a Catholic, which has extra doctrines. Do you not believe the Bible is the infallible word of God (which makes zero reference to Mary worship/prayer, praying to saints, doing rosary, purgatory, confessing to priests, etc.?)?

      Mr Gendron said he WAS Catholic.
      IF that was a lie, someone would have exposed him long before now. There’s no good reason for you to accuse him.
      Catholics read/study The Bible more than all others ?
      I live in an area with lots & Lots of X-Catholics. In conversations with them, NONE said anything about
      Bible reading/studying EXCEPT
      that once they did so, they left
      Catholicism.

    I don't like the papacy and pray for catholics. they claim Peter was the FIRST pope, right? One, Peter was the main teacher to the Jews and the RCC are gentiles so why do they say Peter was a "pope?" Second, aren't popes "supposed" to be celibate? Unmarried? According to God's Word, Peter was married. Oh, and another issue I have is they are LOVED by the world,even non-catholics but Jesus said we would be HATED and PERSECUTED by the world because they first hated Him. THAT should stand out to Christians right off the bat that the RCC is a "false and worldly" church system. God bless and keep spreading the truth.
