    Hey guys, I have a question about your camera tests. First off, I very much appreciate the work you’ve done over the years, protecting us from exaggerated or outright false manufacturer claims.
    My question is: what’s stopping you from shooting a large batch of camera tests all at once? I’m always excited when I see a new lab test pop up on the website, but they’re few and far between. Why not shoot them all in one day and evaluate the results at your leisure? I’d love to see some older cameras get tested as well. It would be fascinating to see how well a Red MX or Dragon or even a 5D mkII holds up against modern sensors!
    Thanks again for all your hard work

      Hi frannyfranman, we appreciate your comments and thanks for the suggestion - it is indeed a good one.
      The way it is now, we actually often do measure several cameras in one day, but it's the actual evaluation that takes a lot of time and effort to get right. Approximately 24 hours in total for one Lab Test. There are a lot of pitfalls that are easy to fall into, which is why we have to take extra care. And in the end, it's also a matter of availability of the team members who are regularly involved in performing those tests, and it's not always easy to carve out enough time for all the tests we need to do.
      Having said that, we are aware of the problem and are currently evaluating a way to put our entire Lab Test and Databases section on a more long-term viable basis. Meaning: We are working on a way to build an inexpensive subscription around a Pro version of the CineD Databases, which would hopefully generate the funds to permanently employ someone to take on more tests on a much more consistent basis. But this will take time to plan and build up.

      @@CineD Wow I had no idea it took 24 hours of work to evaluate a single camera! 🥵
      I look forward to future developments. In fact I’ve been saying for a while that I’d happily pay for CineD’s hard work, whether that took the form of a subscription, crowdfunding, etc. The camera database is such an invaluable resource, people would be crazy to not want to contribute. A native iPhone and Android app would be incredible 😉

    I am a long time user of movies on iphone and even used it to shoot comercial with it. Started editing on ipad which I love with Luma fusion (great) and them moved to Resolve which is our company main editing software. To shoot we use Blackmagic camera and with no complaints as the BM eco system works reat. I love apple FCP but I quit Adobe due to the subscription policy and I am not starting it with Apple. The frist reason is because we already paid Apple for the phone (s) the Ipad (s) and I am not willing to pay monthly for the FCP for ipad. The most I will do is to pay a one time fee. This product is aiming at amateur or semi-pro market (at max) and the advantages that it would have are KILLED by the monthly subscrition. One thing is to pay a lifetime license another to pay for some product to be developed (not even ready yet) to work with Apple phones and ipads. Sorry Apple not like that. Thank you for your review and let´s hope Apple works it out.

    I’ve been editing with LumaFusion for several years now and they got multi cam editing in the last big update. FCP is late to the party in that regard lol. I also can edit right from the SSD on my iPad Pro too. Should be interesting to see how the FCP2 for iPad works out.

    1:09 Maybe a silly question but…what happens if someone calls?

    • @CineD
      @CineD  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually the question is not so silly... a call will show up on top but won't interrupt the recording anymore, as it used to be the case with older versions of iOS.

    Can you record locally via ssd and then bring over the footage from each angle on ssds or via iCloud? If everyone uses their phone cool, but what about not wanting to wait for transfers? Can you edit the timeline created in FCP desktop?

    • @CineD
      @CineD  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't think it's possible to manually transfer footage for the multicam

    So it's great if you are sitting on a bunch of iPhones? Can no other cameras be plugged in too?

    • @JoeOberster
      @JoeOberster 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There's a device called an Accsoon Seemo, you can use that to send the camera image to your iPhone. But either way, if you're putting together a multicam small studio situation that will get used a lot, $1000 for a camera with three lenses that does all of this is a STEAL. If you ask me, say you need a three camera setup, spending $3,000 on three cameras of this quality is not crazy at all.

    • @j2640-q4t
      @j2640-q4t 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JoeOberster That could be a solution but I am in South Africa and iPhones are very pricey here ($2000) and to have an extra iPhone wouldn't make sense if you need versatility. Would be great if you could patch in a DSLR camera/action cam/webcam as well as many have this as their photo/video kit already.

    Really? The recording of the live cut is a basic multicam feature. You can fix any mistake or better angles later because their linked but not nbeing ablew to create a live cut is weird. Final Cut is a weird program. Premiere or Avid please.
