I must say that according to Turkish resourses the positions of the opponents is different than shown in this video. Hunyadi's forces' position is right but Turkish Army took the positions in the south of Hunyadi's front. Besides; there were cavalary forces hiddenly deployed in open flanks which flanked the Hunyadi's forces. this the very simple implementation of "steps tactics" which can be summarized as "fake attacks from flanks by cavalary-fake withdrawal when the enemy's attacks start-draw the enemy to the killing zone (in front of center forces and artillery)- attack from wide flanks by fresh forces (light cavalary)-attack from rear side by withdrawn heavy cavalary forces which widely flanked the enemy forces and destroy enemy forces by center forces- chase the enemy. I pray for all the soldiers fought and died in this war.
Yes, there are many interpretations. I chose this version because most sources agree that 1.) the Ottomans came from the same direction as the Hungarians, 2.) that the Ottomans occupied the place where the Hungarians were originally encamped. Now the battle map is almost a 1 to 1 copy of the Google map (I do this as often as possible) and based on the map this version seems the most rational... But as you wrote there is also a version where the Ottomans come from the S-W (cutting Hunyadi off from the Albanians), and Hunyadi comes down from the hill to attack them... There is very little precise information, so it could have happened like that.
5:50 Its said that Brankovic stopped Skenderbeg from joining Hunyadi due to him being a ottoman vassal. Skenderbeg order his troops than to damaged villages in brankovic realm. Its a shame serbs stop the Albanians and Hungarians to join forces.
Great video. I waited for it so much! A minor correction: not Skanderberg but Skanderbeg. From the name Iskender beg, which he received when he was raised by the Turks.
Not really raised because he was like 10 I think than he was send to the ottomans. He showed himselfs to be a very good stratigic military commandeur. Than he got the name Iskender Beg (Skenderbeu).
Iskender is the turkish version for alexander. They named him after alexander the great due to his cavalry and overall military skills. These are very important features for the men among the turks.
Imagine if Brankovic either joined or shut his mouth and Hunyadi and Skanderbeg had marched together against the ottomans. That would have changed history.
Imagine if hungarians joined serbs during first battle of kosovo or image not to burn land of your ally if they think that your play is stupaid withc it is.

When Albanians were trying to protect Kosovo & The Balkans, the Serbian rulers were busy preventing Albanians and their allies (such as the Hungarians) from defeating the Ottomans.
Nicely produced. The Ottoman army rounding the bend after following the Hungarians, and the cavalry scramble to occupy the hill is high drama.. Very well conveyed, cavalry squares, horse's hooves sounds and all!
It would be excellent if this series would continues with Hunyadi's son, Mátyás's rule, how he tried to acquire Sultan Dzsem, but he was betrayed by the pope and France, and how did he tried to create European unity against the Ottomans, but being left alone, how he tried to become Holy Roman Emperor, and in this way to lead an united European army against the Ottomans. Because even his Western Wars were triggered by his anti-Ottoman efforts.
