    Think of it as a Backwards hike. People think its a easy hike because you start by hiking down. Then you start hiking up but they have those massive steps for the Mules

    I’m 63 and don’t press my luck any longer with the heat or excessive exertion. And I like to learn my lessons the easy way, by reading stories in books such as the excellent ‘Death in Big Bend’ that describe hiking, climbing and camping incidents. I hope the man didn’t suffer. A sad story.

      Not sure what killed the man. Lack of water or some electrolyte, over exertion, or older age or just his time to die.

    RIP and that but at this point if you're hiking the grand when it's 110 and higher you're asking for it. 365 days a year and you hike it during the hottest months available. STAY INSIDE, it's too hot. The canyon isn't gonna get less canyony.
