    The best Trophy to Racket back scratch ever.
    Knowing what to do makes it easier to develop the flowing and continuous motion of the modern serve. Love his relaxed teaching method.

    Very interesting! What I love the most is the spirit. It is a good way to have kids enjoying their learning. It is relaxed, no pressure. That is a very nice model on how to teach a kid without being too pushy and destructive. When i got kid myself, i will go back to your video to teach him or her cause it is not easy to stay relax.

    I have subscribed to a few of Cosmin's courses over the past years because they are different in many ways. Of course they offer excellent tennis techniques, as always, broken down into simple steps, but they are also so warm, friendly, natural and informal, with just the right dose of spontaneity and imperfection. For example, I just love the way Bianca shies away from Cosmin as he demonstrates the swing at the beginning the video. Throughout the video, she steps back as soon as Cosmin starts a move (;--)) I have become accustomed to hear the dog's barks and the rooster's loud protests over the years. Don't change anything Cosmin. Your videos are informative, AND entertaining. Friendly suggestion : put a lap mic on the child so we can hear her clearly. Her reactions will certainly as ingenuous as can be.

    Great drill that I'll definitely use. Might be important to note that in the 2 live serves that she hits at the end, she still has her racket face open on the take back. I'm sure she picked it up with a few more serves!

      Yet, she still got it into a good position before the upswing - and hit a nice, spin serve. www.flickr.com/photos/mentalblock/30971468381/in/datetaken-public/

    when you serve you should feel like weeping the Ball To the side of your body thats why pros lean back when tossing the ball and then lean forward at contact because we can't weep strongly upside our head without injuring shoulder ...

  • @tehatte
    @tehatte 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    My son has the same problem. Thanks for this trick! You should however stand in front of her when doing side by side so you could see her because she was still hitting the fence but you didn't see that.

    If you watch very carefully in slow motion videos of federer serving you'll see that he actually DOESN'T drop the racquet with the edge. His strings do open up on the racquet drop. Personally I always lead with the edge of the racquet, but the way the girl was doing it was also correct.

    Can u tell me how many times I should repeat a lesson from your site, with my kids who are beginners?

    • @webtennis24
      @webtennis24  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a tough question... there is no certain set number of times you should apply a lesson with your students. You, as a coach, should see the interest and enthusiasm level as well as how fast your students learn the skills.
      Just don't make it boring by repeating the same drills every time. Be creative...
      Good luck!

    that's a good trick if the head of the racket is too open, but many times it's a wrong grip, too much to the western side with beginning servers... she is too tiny to learn all those details, perhaps the throw up and one swingmotion is more important...

    Not a fan of this approach. I think it creates a Hitch in the service motion which may be difficult to smooth out in the future. I will be interested to see how things work out. Keep it up.

  • @dons718
    @dons718 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I am not a fan of the "scratch your back" approach to the serve. Vic Braden, who was the first to do high speed photography of tennis players, was also not a fan. The "trophy position" is NOT the be all and end all of an effective serve, and may in fact be counter-productive. If you watch the best pro servers in slow motion, you will see that there is not any back scratching going on. From that position about all you have to propel the ball is arm extension, which is just not enough.

    • @crazytony20
      @crazytony20 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To me, its not about the trophy pose, its more about how to create a proper racquet drop, which this video explains quite well. its good to not open your racquet as it will create inconsistent force applied to the ball. His main focus did not seem to be about the trophy position.
