I want a reel to reel tape recorder. I remember a neighbour had one in 1975, I was ten years old just appreciating sound quality, he played some Soul music he’d recorded from his vinyl collection like David Ruffin, Eddie Kendrick running at 15ips. It was good mate I’ll never forget those old VU’s bouncing around on his Sony 👍😎
TEAC's quadraphonic units are fantastic. I have an A-3340S that has barely been used, almost the same as this one but with a cue lever for the pinch roller. I use it to record instruments live and send tracks through for that classic tape sound.
I have one of these and absolutely love it’s sound. 70’s vibes! One quick question? I know this is a possible known issue with these transports, but, when I go from fast wind or rewind to stop or play the tape tends to stretch and twist into a thread or it breaks. Happens the most with small reels. Also noticed the tension when tape is threaded is very very taught. Hard to manually advance the tape. I am thinking maybe the breaks and possible back tension are too tight? Any possible ideas or thoughts?
when you record on this unit, are you able to monitor the recorded tape at the same time? Or are you only monitoring the input? I noticed when you changed the tape speed it sped up momentarily, but then leveled out to the normal speed.
Bigg Matt let me know how we can set something up. I mainly want to run my pro tools mixes through the unit to print but would love to pay for a tutorial all together.
I'm lovin all that 'old school' analog equipment in the background. Analog didn't die, it's just taking a brief nap. ANALOG FOREVER!
I agree Chuck. Do you have reel to reel equipment?

Why would some models of 3340s have a cue lever but not another? Was that an option?
@@alanrussell6678 I believe that only the A-3340S has the cue lever

One of my favorite groups of the era
Back in the 70s I was going to buy one of these. Kinda wish I had.
I just pitched up one of these and a non-functioning 3340 (that can go for parts on the 3340s if need be down the road) love it

Yes, you can simultaneously monitor recordings on this deck.

Hi Saif, Please send me a short video. I don't understand buzzed Lou.
I just picked this up and wondering if you offer a paid consultation service? I want to use mine to print my mixes through, etc.
I'll gladly share what I know.
