I met Bob on a flight in 2015, he was so kind to everyone that approached him. He was sat next to two unaccompanied minors that were about 5 and 7. He sat and read a book with them and played games with them the whole flight. A genuine class act.
Bob must have loved that too! He usually doesn’t get the opportunity since the judge told him he has to stay 300 meters from any elementary school.

Absolutely from commercials to music videos. I think Tim was trying to say how much Doug’s editing was such a massive part to the aesthetic and I think to their percentage of hits over flops. Not just editing but writing and saving bits like “Ooo mama!” For example. Turning absolutely nothing into a memorable funny and ridiculous bit.

The bit at 1:26:00 or thereabouts, where they're talking about Vince naming his island - they're talking about calling it "Vince's Island," but then suddenly Tim and Doug realise that his surname is Gilligan and then watching Tim try to hint at him calling it Gilligan's Island without actually saying it is abso-lutely hysterical. The cheeky sparkle in his eyes is infectious.
Bob talking about his struggles really spoke to me today. I’ve been chasing my dream in music for 15 years…have gotten so close so many times, but ultimately had some huge failures. Sometimes I wonder why I can’t stop doing this, even though it’s really hard and doesn’t always work out. But it’s just in my blood, and hearing bob talk about how he worked equally as hard on things that didn’t work out for him gives me a lot of hope and inspiration. Never give up!
If youre happy and can feed yourself, keep going, but also be realistic and be able to shift & pivot into a new direction (without punishing yourself, that you maybe 'failed' your original 'plan')..

The real talk at the beginning was really refreshing in times of mostly being talked about instead of talking to each other.

Tim wouldn't let me speak to Bob
Bob calls it "luck" but it was a direct result of his hard work and the quality that he had produced. Vince Gilliigan was a fan of Mr. Show, he was similarly a fan of Wiseguy, and was stoked to find out that Jonathan Banks was auditioning for role of Mike.

Love bob odenkirk!! I have his memoir on audiobook - very humble, endearing guy can’t help but like him ! I have to say I was in the mood for a wackier type of episode because i like to have fun and i like to laugh of course, but it’s nice to have a long thoughtful, reflective interview style chat as well.
I understand all of the humor and jokes.
I’m ready to see Tim and Fred Armisen in a band that show Idea would be funny as hell
