Once upon a time.... award nights were exciting and we clammered to watch the beautiful dresses, the gorgeous fabric (some people who were good at sewing, would try and create the dress for themselves) gorgeous hairstyles, sparkling jewellery, perfect make-up and the posh, unreal fairytale atmosphere.... now, I rent a movie if there's going to be award night on TV, as I can't stand the hideous crap they stagger out in...looking like death warmed up and bits we really don't want to see, hanging out of holes and gaps!!! Hollywood has gone down the drain and it is dragging style and glamour with it!!!😢😢😢😢
Most of the gowns they wore reminds me of the Hunger Games acting as if they are living in District 1, and it really highlights they have a similar vanity mindset.
I like the Angelina dress, but always thought that sticking her leg out of the slit in every picture took away from the class and elegance of it. The pose is exaggerated and deliberate; it took a perfectly effortless look and made it try too hard, IMHO.
@JF-up9jn While yes the dress look beautiful without the leg pose, HOWEVER the leg pose is for the drama/shock value (and the right amount of it). And it's a great thing. Many people love it, many people hate it. BUT people will talk about it and remember it. There are tons of other elegant dress, but after we are like "it's beautiful", we will unlikely remember them. BUT people still remember that moment of Angelina dress with that dramatic leg pose.
Because at least Diana was willing to learn, and did respect the rules and she genuinely loved the Queen..... MM only loves herself and money and tries to piss everyone off (which she's usually pretty successful at!!)
@@keithgiblin2636Diana's wedding dress was a ridiculous Holly Hobby mess that completely swallowed her! She would've looked so much better in a classic style gown. Thankfully she listened & learned quickly from her style experts.
@@cathyrowe594 wdym We *all* dressed dramatically in the '80s - think Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson, Bowie... . Diana was a girl marrying the heir to the throne. She captured the mood of the decade, and every bride wanted to *be* her for the next 20 years.
People choose to forget that Diana held her "pity me" interview without protecting her children. She "shyly" confessed her multiple affairs (omit the marriage she broke up) BUT blamed others for her behaviour. William was at boarding school and became aware of it only when his fellow students did. Imagine their gossiping and side glances. Imagine his pain and discomfort. Then she flounced off in her FU dress and the press and other women/mums! praised her for it. It's nasty stuff. I see that Diana in H's manoeuvers.
Diana was barely out of her teens when she married Charles, who was on the phone with Camilla every day while on their honeymoon. If he'd pulled that stunt on an American woman he probably wouldn't have made it back alive. Diana showed way too much restraint.
I really wish the designers would stop trying to seem so brilliant as their results are an abomination. What is the matter with these people? Why, as a designer, would you allow any human being to leave your establishment looking worse than a dog’s regurgitated dinner. Yikes 😳🤢!
Fun Fact. I remember reading that the designer was commissioned and delivered The Revenge Dress a full year and a half before it’s debut so it appears that Diana was waiting for the most opportune time to unveil her little black dress. 🙂
Great selection. Have to say the worst 1,2,3 looks are incomprehensible. Lady Di's revenge dress is still a knockout today. What I remember from that period is that she finally dropped the 80s looks & however styled her new sophisticated (almost french) look was a genius. It screams confidence.
No, it wasn’t. Charles entered the marriage honestly (we barely know each other but from what I’ve seen, we have enough to build on), Diana did not. Diana misrepresented who she was to Charles (I love all the stuff you love! and though we barely know each other I feel only the very deepest love for you!), and her family hid their knowledge of her instability. Charles’ romantic relationship with Camilla was over and he was ready to build a relationship with Diana, only to marry her and find out on the honeymoon that she was not the person he thought she was. Mountbatten’s “play the field advice” was not helpful to Charles. By the time he was 30, he was getting pressure from all quarters to marry and did not take the time to really get to know Diana; they only met about 15 times before the engagement. Charles didn’t get the opportunity to see that Diana actually hated all his interests and had some significant mental health issues. Diana would have had a more difficult time keeping up the facade over 2-3 years. Maybe a few of her bunny-boiling tendencies would have made their way to the media given more time.
Billie Eilish should've given the money spent on her dress to charity and worn a duvet for comfort. I admire your positive help Beebs but nothing would've made that dress look better. The #4 and #5 bad dresses look appropriate for the "best porn actress" awards.
I recall that the Revenge Dress was actually a long dress, and the designer and she decided to shorten it in response to Charles's interview. She definitely rocked it!
@@esterbengoa6077no the dress wasn't altered. She was unable to wear it before because was too small. She has been on Anorix Bing to fit in it. she looked amazing. The thing people forget is Charlrs told her he didn't love her. His grandmother was accustom to Royal marriages of convinces. Diana kbewvery well what she was signing up for Charles really tried and didn't speak with Camilla until after Harry was born. It needs to be said Diaba was first one to physically cheat not Charles
@ironbutterfly6835 exactly. The media always made it look like Diana was blameless and faultless. Charles took all the brunt of the demise of their marriage. Diana wasn't smart and maybe Charles had a hard time connecting with her.
I remember this ‘Revenge’ dress. I thought then and I think now that there was far too much going on. A straight longer skirt or getting rid of the drape would have sharpened the look.
I don’t agree about Angelina. She would have looked so much better if she hadn’t stuck her pale, white leg out through the slit in the dress. The dress itself didn’t need that.
I remember the newscasters making fun of her for that after the awards were over. Others now pose like that when wearing similar dress slits and they look just as bad.
I remember the side by side of the interview with Charles admitting to cheating on his wife and then the picture of Diana in ‘that’ dress plus high, high heels, that she had avoided due to hubby’s hurty feelings over her height. She looked breathtaking AND happy, it was a definite win for her.💕
The dress was a knockout alright but my reaction was that she looked very downmarket and was trying way too hard. Shock value rather than admiration. It's rather annoying when people are put on pedestals and deemed beyond reproach. Diana had excellent qualities but also faults, she was a human being like everyone else and not some goddess. I liked her but I didn't idolize her. I admired her more for touching a sick person in hospital rather than for how much trouble she took getting tarted up.
Angelina Jolie, totally agree Beebs, she IS stunning. The Princess of Wales gown was spectacular, again fitted impeccably. She just can't do any wrong in my books.
I used to work for a jewelry designer and for the most part he had a great sense of style. From time to time he would get all excited and come out to the floor to show us something new and exciting. He'd say "You have to see this, it's great, no one has ever done this before" and he'd show us some really weird combo that made no sense. We'd all look at each other as if to say "there's a reason no one has done that before". We never told him. He was so excited, we didn't want to burst his bubble. I feel like that's what happened with the "avant garde" dress. Someone should have told him. Or at least told her. What a travesty.
Hi Beebs sending my love from 🇿🇦 I love these fashion conversations thank you very much About Diana’s so called revenge dress personally I hope she was sending a message to herself rather than to the then Prince Charles because I believe he knew exactly what he was missing and wasn’t bothered one bit For me he and the current queen have proven that true love is real ❤
I looked at the "revenge dress" as a declaration of independence. Diana could never wear a dress like that as a Royal. Too revealing on the leg as well as shoulders (though obviously not tasteless). It looked mature (versus early royal fashion choices especially). I don't doubt it was appropriate for the occasion but had just enough edge or non-royalness to be a statement that she's her own woman and looks good as it.
The ruffled disaster on Billie Eilish was something that no one could put on and have it look anything other than the mess of over abundant cloth that it is. How could you, with a straight face, try to suggest anything that could have improved it.
The most iconic for me was Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. You would still look stylish if you wore that today. But I agree Julia's dress deserved mentioned.
I remember the Diana LBD moment when it happened. It was the equivalent to a very elegant middle finger raised in the general direction of her ex-hubby, lol. She was beautiful, knew it, and strutted her stuff in the face of what could have been a very public humiliation. My past self got the message immediately.
It's also important to remember that clothes aside, Charles and Diana did reconcile to an extent. They were ill matched as marriage partners but that they managed to interact on good terms eventually says a lot.
She was saying... I'm gorgeous, look at me and what you're missing... but sadly, his heart was given away years ago and love sees that person as the most beautiful.... even though we think she was much more beautiful than Camilla... but if her mental health is what Harry has inherited, what went on behind closed doors may have made him see her as unattractive in the end 😢
Love this black dress video!🖤 I choose Audrey Hepburn as the LBD legend. The dress in Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sabrina, and there are more to talk about! Yeah those are costumes for movies so it might be different category, but actually Audrey was choosing her own costume quite often. She understood her body type and knew what to wear. Hope you would give a chance to one of her style if you make next black dress video🥰
Sorry Beebs, but I have to disagree with you on Zendaya's mermaid dress. The neckline is too low. It looks like it's about to fall off and tan lines are visible. Her eye makeup is too harsh. She usually looks absolutely amazing, for me this was not one of her best looks. On the other hand, the strapless ball gown is gorgeous! I do agree that the look is a little "old" for her, but I think that's due to the bouffant hair, and not the dress itself which is giving me Audrey Hepburn vibes.
@@mortimerbrewster3671 true. She made a point. And the point was she was now a celebrity with a " sexy" dress... how original, how liberating! She was once again after the flashes and the newspapers front pages.
I kinda love Tilda Swinton’s dress! I think it suits her perfectly, but I agree that the sleeve could have been done in a way that is more cohesive to the dress.
Regarding the Revenge Dress which was worn by Diana, Princess of Wales - I remember this time well. It was a stressful time for the Royal Family. Everyone seemed to be upsetting the apple cart and airing their dirty linens in public, with divorce and difficulty everywhere. The shimmer of the Royal Family had been dimmed a bit during this time, but certainly not for the first time (Duke of Windsor scandal). I think of this iconic dress as a symbol of liberation and new beginnings for Diana. Which makes her untimely death a few short years later, all the more tragic. Diana also wore red nail polish on her manicured hands - no ladies in the Royal Family were permitted to have longer nails or nails other than nude. But the Princess of Wales was leaving behind the old rules of royalty for a new life. Diana had also always been a nail-biter, so I felt that the new nails were also symbolic of conquering outdated habits and her body was now healthy and strong. That and her body language showed her new-found confidence in herself and in her abilities. (I don’t actually like this dress) but it certainly caused a stir, and reminded everyone what the Prince of Wales had given-up. In hindsight, I think that the Prince of Wales had simply chosen to be with the love of his life. Many things can be said about this timeframe and about the behaviour of the participants in this real-life drama, but no one can now doubt the love that the King has for the Queen.
So many thoughts re the Diana 'revenge' dress! She looks fabulous, as she always did. Extra fabulous. And I hope it made her feel great that night. It was certainly a grab for the headlines - a reminder to Charles that she could always get the attention no matter what he was doing. Also of course a kind of 'look what you're missing' kind of dress. But at the same time, sad, to me - because yes you're so beautiful and you can wear a fabulous dress but it isn't those things that make someone in love with you or make your marriage work.
Charles’ interview was a mistake, but after reading The Real Diana, I can see how he got there-Diana just played the game better. Diana was sure that she would marry Prince Andrew when she grew up. Her family took to calling her Dutch because they were also sure she would marry Andrew and become a Duchess. Once Diana realized that she could actually catch Charles, the chase was on and facilitated by her family. Diana feigned interest in Charles’ interests and hobbies (Balmoral, fishing hunting, etc.)-basically, she pretended to be who Camilla is, a hunting, shooting, fishing, reading country girl. Then as soon as they were on their honeymoon (most of which was at Balmoral), Diana declared each of his interests as borrrring. When the honeymoon moved on to Balmoral she would have have fits of screaming and crying when he wouldn’t do what she wanted when she wanted him to do it (the court was at Balmoral for the summer so there was official business going on and many witnesses). After the honeymoon she proceeded to, one by one, separate him from his friends (he would give in to avoid conflict with her), then his staff (who would quit because she would not look at or speak to those she wanted to leave. In her mind, she loved him, but then attempted to change everything about him, and if he wanted any kind of peace, he would comply. Diana and her family, particularly the Spencers, were very ambitious and misrepresented who she was to the RF, particularly regarding her emotional health & stability. The Spencer’s actually had a bit of a reputation for unstable men (Diana’s mom cited abuse in the divorce), but the RF didn’t think the mental issues affect the Spencer women. Diana actually refused to cooperate with mental health professionals provided by the RF when they realized how unstable she was, and wouldn’t accept mental health help for years (yes, the RF tried to get her professional help) until a friend threatened to out her bulimia to the press because she was afraid it would kill her. And that is just how she treated Charles. As a grown woman she held hostility towards her mother for leaving her abusive father (she took Diana & her brother with her but lost custody), pushed her stepmother down the stairs (long after Diana married btw), threw her stepmother’s things out the window in trash bags after her father died, fired one staff for claiming expenses with the palace for some trips with Diana (completely legitimate expenses), and the staff who was the currier who delivered tapes to Andrew Morten for her for accepting reimbursement from the publishing company. The virginal “Shy Di” persona was completely a creation of a press. A bit like the common impression that the Queen Mother “sweet ol’granny.”
The family misrepresented her reminds me of Jane Eyre and the wife in the attic. It's a shame people choosing ambition over what is best for the individual. That route rarely leads to happiness.
I think a lot of what you said is true..although I think she was a bit of a shy Di at 19, she also wanted to marry Charles and be royalty, for sure... and although she bragged she "brought good looks to the family" (bit of an insult there, as the Queen herself was a beauty), I think Diana also brought poor mental health to the family (as very evident in Harry).... thank God William got mums good looks and the Queen/daddy's brains... and married such a grounded, intelligent and stunning woman as Catherine, to give us all hope for a more sound royal family in the future.
@@lynettefinnigan9540Prince Philip was a stunner. One of the most handsome men of his time, so for Di to say she brought good looks into the family is an insult, even William couldn't match Prince Philip in the looks department.
I was alive when all this drama was going on in the RF. Chas was doing the Demby interview when Diana was wearing the Revenge Dress. Charles was hanging around with Mrs. CPB who was a bit matronly in comparison to the glamourous Diana. Accordingto those who knew her, it was totally meant to say, How can you leave the beautify Di for this older matronly girlfriend? I sometimes wonder whether Diana knew that she was praised for her appearnce, not her mind or charcter.
Your part about Diana’s “revenge” dress was a light bulb moment, that’s what Meghan was trying to emulate at Katy Perry concert! When has she ever wore stockings, like EVER! And she had in the little black mini dress! She was cosplaying Princess Diana yet again!!
You look fab in this one, Beebs! Red is a great color for you. As far as Diana's reasons....all of the above, lol. I actually love the Zendaya peplum dress on her. She looks really lovely and classy in it. Her hair is styled perfectly.
Yes, more please. I absolutely loved Zendaya (sorry I'm not familiar with her) in that first black dress. Gorgeous. If I i could have a 40 year do over, I would be in that dress. You look beautiful in red Beebs!
Yes, please, do more analysis of classic, beautiful black dresses, along with comments on hair and jewelry. Definitely show the appalling for emphasis... but then let us enjoy and revel in BEAUTIFUL dress design. Thanks!
I kinda like the revenge dress. I personally would not wear it because I don't like dresses that don't have a shoulder part. I'd always be afraid it might slip down, even if it'd be a perfect fit. That's just me. Dianas confidence made it a wow dress. She liked wearing it. She knew she looked great. And that was what made a great dress a really iconic moment. She said "I'm here, I feel sexy and I love it!" without saying a word.
Wonderful video - especially the spectacular black dresses that were badly needed after seeing the awful worst ones - your fashion sense is impeccable! You're looking fabulous in red today - you're really rocking that beautiful colour!
Sorry Beebs, Diana's 'revenge' dress and Angelina's leg on display like that were two few fashion choices which *really* did not work for me at the time they were worn - and they still *really* don't!
Simply Breathtakingly Beautiful - describes how both Princess Diana and Princess Catherine look while walking along or in a still photo - both equally wonderful looks. Both of them just glide along with such grace nothing faults their presence whatsoever in my view or observations. Both of them are absolutely fashion icons of the times. Who wouldn’t want to have such elegance and grace as that. With some other styles in a black dress on some other peoole, i just leave it at the question mark - ? Why? What? How? did anyone dream up an outfit like that. Costume party maybe? 😂
Angelina is just drop dead gorgeous. When she took that stance I remember her she slamming that leg out of that slit! Now you see everyone trying to pull of that stance and fall way short. She is confident in her own skin. I love her!
Zendaya’s 2nd dress is exquisite 😍The black ball gown was beautiful, but the bodice looks a bit too short. A choker, or necklace would’ve been a nice addition, & perhaps some opera gloves, but she still looked great 😊
Thanks for pointing out some truly beautiful dresses here, Beebs. They tend to get so overshadowed by the attention grabbers--Bjork's swan, JLo's HiLo, and Lady Gaga's meat, just to name a few. But real style and glamor will ALWAYS take the day. To your list I have to add the Valentino dress that Julia Roberts wore to the 2001 Oscars. Dropdead GORGEOUS! And yes, pleeeeeeease do more of these beautiful gowns. Enough Met Gala shock--bring on the beauty!
Beebs...your gorgeous self gets prettier every week. I love the color-themed dress designs. I read an article about Billie Eilish and her baggy clothes. While I don't care for her dress at all, it seems to be an elegant version of her baggy clothes lifestyle. It sets it apart because it says that she had input into the design of that dress. She wanted it HUGE! Please do the whole rainbo!
Love this video, yes I want to see more! 🖤 still on a mission to find THE perfect LBD for my body that would work for lots of occasions P.s. I really like how you switch between worst and best looks throughout the video
The second gown you showed Zendaya in was perfection. The slicked back hair, the jewellery all well done. As for Diana’s LBD or revenge dress moment: she had to be convinced to wear that. She thought it was the wrong choice. But everyone told her to go for it, and she DID! WOW! She made Charles look like an absolute @ss . His interview he gave that night was supposed to be so groundbreaking, but nobody cared they all talked about HER! She was all over the papers the next morning! All over talk tv, the news, everywhere. She didn’t want to put it on but afterwards; afterwards she was pleased as punch. It always galled Charles that she, the shy 19 year old kindergarten teacher, got so much more attention than him; the heir to the throne. But there it was. The thing I love about William and Catherine is that crowds are equally glad to see either of them but Catherine always, always defers to William. Something that the meg would never do. I would love to see more black dress looks.
People would groan in disappointment when they got Charles, when C&D made a joint appearance and split up to work the crowds. Of course, because Diana was new on the scene, she was young and pretty, and everyone wanted to see what she was wearing.
@@fibanocci314 I’ve been a follower of the Royal family for about 40-45 years. Before the internet, I read plenty of books. It doesn’t give me actual face to face conversations with people, but I guess it gives you some insight. And when the internet and tv coverage of the Royal Family started in earnest, you could see it with your own eyes. Charles has had a destiny since the day he was born. It’s a destiny that only few people can truly share. And that is a special, unique group of people. When Charles married Diana, he brought her into that fold, that family. And as soon as she became part of the family people were mesmerised by her. They called out for her on walk abouts. They wanted her on their side of the street. You could see in Charles’ face that it upset him because the cameras showed it. I was there twice for walk abouts in person. The night Charles gave his interview on television was groundbreaking. There had never been a Royal on television talking about actual feelings before. At that time, and I suppose a this time, it’s wasn’t/isn’t supposed to be about the person but the service, the leadership, the gentle guidance that they could give to the nation. But on this particular occasion, no one was talking about Charles. Anyone and everyone was was talking about her, and her dress. And her attitude that night. Her smile, her face. And the day following, and the weeks and the years that have gone by, people still talk about Diana and how remarkable she looked. How she was able to get dressed, go out, and smile while her husband was sharing on television deep secrets about their marriage. So maybe I don’t have face to face knowledge of Charles’ feelings, but it was reported by who did know him face to face. I guess that’s how I can say “it galled him”. And if you don’t like that particular word, it certainly bothered him deeply. When Diana became part of the family, coverage of the family exploded. Blew up. When so many people are saying the same thing, there usually is a bit of the truth in there somewhere. To make this more modern, I suppose you could look at the younger generation of the Windsor family. Current things we can see with our own eyes. Recent photos show Prince Harry scowling. When you see someone scowling, you can infer they’re upset by something just by the look on their face. In the days after the black dress, Charles was pictured with a similar look to his face.
DiANA wore it for all those reasons . On Catherine, when you defer to your spouse, in reality it makes you look more grand and superior in a non bragging way Humility is elevating.
I'm not sure how I ended up here or why your video is recommended to me. That stated I did give this a go. Not knowing zip about fashion this was interesting. Also you talk about the 5 worst dresses but you offer suggestions as to how the look could have been softened. Also, and this is phenomenally important, you did not attack the women but the choice of dress or its shape or cut. It is refreshing to hear a woman of fashion support and care for other women even if the look didn't quite work. This is the kind of support teenagers need to hear and see. I wish you must success in the future. I may pop in to check out other videos in the future. Kudos.💐💐💐💐
CoCo Chanel once gave her most sage advice for wearing accessories and knowing how much to wear. She said that as you're walking out the front door look in the hallway mirror and take off one piece off. Just one. If that's how CoCo rolled then who am I to question? Her advice has served me well.
I thought #3 was horrid enough - that dress SWALLOWED that poor girl, but #2 - AAAAGGGGHHH!!! And I'm sorry, but #1 should not have been in the "dress " category - that was some sort of shorts/ rags combo. 😂😂😂 And YES, PLEASE, MORE black dress looks!!!❤❤❤
I enjoyed your sassy attitude today. I mostly watch for the fashion but I had to keep rewinding to look at the dresses because I was enjoying the commentary so much! ESP the worst ones!!
The “ revenge dress” was black, which she felt was okay for her to wear as she was no longer royalty. (Her HRH title was removed upon her divorce.) As an ex-Royal, she was no longer obliged to promote British designers, hence she was free to wear Versace.
Technically she was a royal at the time but she attended a function that wasn’t a royal event (notice Catherine wearing the black dress for a film premiere.) Diana wore the dress right after Charle’s interview came out around 1994 where he confirmed their relationship was broken and that he admitted to having an affair many had speculated was with Camilla. Diana apparently declined going to this event originally, it was a gallery for the Variety Magazine, but she decided after watching Charle’s interview to make arrangements the next day to attend the function and arrived in the dress. In 1992 she was the source to Andrew Morton’s book that released the details of the marital affairs that led her into a separation from Charles. Her interview with Panorama was in 1995 that resulted in the late Queen demanding the two get a divorce, they finalized the divorce in 1996, then she died the next year.
I absolutely LOOOOOVE the POW's gown. It was so refreshing to see her in (what to me look like) such "matronly" dress. She looked like a million diamonds tiara and yet it was achieved, like you said, with simplicity and editing. Simply perfection.
Don't be sad to critique people's dresses. Women, thin, fat or curvy, could be dressed horribly. You saying you don't want to "body shame" focus on you mentioning the size. Don't worry about being misinterpreted, we follow you because you are FAIR. Do not change, please ❤❤
About the ugly dresses: I kept thinking "Nothing can top this!", but nooo, there was something worse yet again! Angelina Jolie's dress: IMO, it was ruined by the absurd look-at-my-leg pose. That's all I can see. I liked the first Vandea (? never heard of her) dress. The other dress had that dropped strap/band/sleeve around the upper arm that looks like it would constrict movement and that I dislike on _any_ dress, even Catherine's. Finally, about Tilda Swinton's first dress: I agree with Beebs that she can get away with it, except for the one-sleeve business which is another one of my bugbears. No sleeves, or two sleeves: pick one, please!

Great selection. Have to say the worst 1,2,3 looks are incomprehensible. Lady Di's revenge dress is still a knockout today. What I remember from that period is that she finally dropped the 80s looks & however styled her new sophisticated (almost french) look was a genius. It screams confidence.
The look on your face after “butt cheeks” made me laugh so hard my kids had to check on me!!! I’m so glad I found your channel you are just lovely.
Diana was hitting the gym during this time, and she was proud of the results. The Revenge Dress looks great!

I have never liked the dress. I looks so tight it's going to split or fall. She looks so cheap it's sad
It was in her closet for two years before she wore it
@@esterbengoa6077no the dress wasn't altered.
@@ironbutterfly6835If you don't think phoning your mistress while on your honeymoon is cheating, you seriously need to look up the word FIDELITY!
I agree. Just the ankle out to show off the pretty shoe was all that was needed.
It seemed weird for her to stick her leg out every time she stopped to stand. Lol
Angelina has really bony shoulders too. I think she would look better if she covered them
So many experts here, I see
"I don't care what anyone says".. Diana Rocked that dress & did it in an AMAZING way ❤
I remember the side by side of the interview with Charles admitting to cheating on his wife and then the picture of Diana in ‘that’ dress plus high, high heels, that she had avoided due to hubby’s hurty feelings over her height. She looked breathtaking AND happy, it was a definite win for her.💕
Those were high for the day but i consider 5" heels going into the high high range. Regardless she was breathtakingly beautiful
I hate the dress. It made her look cheap, no classy. If it wasn't because she wore it when she did...
OK.
Angelina Jolie, totally agree Beebs, she IS stunning. The Princess of Wales gown was spectacular, again fitted impeccably. She just can't do any wrong in my books.
She was letting the world know she was not going away! She is strong, she is still her!
The bum cheek cutout’s & horse tail dress is especially awful. Just, why?🙈
I do get tired of her being put on a pedestal. Neither one of them were perfect
Hi Beebs sending my love from 🇿🇦 I love these fashion conversations thank you very much
About Diana’s so called revenge dress personally I hope she was sending a message to herself rather than to the then Prince Charles because I believe he knew exactly what he was missing and wasn’t bothered one bit
For me he and the current queen have proven that true love is real ❤
💛💛
I love Anjelina, Zendaya and Catherine's black dresses, all different but great all the same.
Princess Kate looks so gorgeous....always ❣️
The ruffled disaster on Billie Eilish was something that no one could put on and have it look anything other than the mess of over abundant cloth that it is. How could you, with a straight face, try to suggest anything that could have improved it.
It made the poor girl look like a mountain
She looked like Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
Great video again. I also thought that Julia Robert’s vintage Valentino Oscar dress was a big fashion win.
The most iconic for me was Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. You would still look stylish if you wore that today. But I agree Julia's dress deserved mentioned.
Zen days and Princess Catherine can wear anything and it looks good. I think they have similar builds. Great video!
Diana and Catherine are pure class and elegance.
Yes true, proves you can acquire class & elegance with the "right" attitude...
Diana was looking gooood in that black dress. You’re right, we’ll never know what she was thinking but we will always remember.
Diana’s little black dress was a “ look what you will miss” statement.
I would love another "black dress" video. I've learned so much about what will work for my shape, since following you. Great video as always, Beebs!
Diana's was stunning in that dress. I think it was a statement of freedom.
Angelina, Catherine and Zendaya are on par with Diana ❤
And of course, yes, do more black dresses!!
I love seeing the fashions.
I remember the Diana LBD moment when it happened. It was the equivalent to a very elegant middle finger raised in the general direction of her ex-hubby, lol. She was beautiful, knew it, and strutted her stuff in the face of what could have been a very public humiliation. My past self got the message immediately.
Very well said friend
It's also important to remember that clothes aside, Charles and Diana did reconcile to an extent.
They were ill matched as marriage partners but that they managed to interact on good terms eventually says a lot.
She was saying... I'm gorgeous, look at me and what you're missing... but sadly, his heart was given away years ago and love sees that person as the most beautiful.... even though we think she was much more beautiful than Camilla... but if her mental health is what Harry has inherited, what went on behind closed doors may have made him see her as unattractive in the end 😢
Elegant??
Love this black dress video!🖤
I choose Audrey Hepburn as the LBD legend.
The butt cheek cutout dress reminds me of that scene in Mean Girls where they do those cutouts on Regina's Tshirt and starts a trend😂
Yes please, more black dress videos! My favourite was Princess Diana's revenge dress 🖤🖤🖤
Beebs, you superstar, another fab video that makes so much sense xxxx
I audibly gasped when i saw the dress with the tail and but cut outs. It‘s a nightmare 😅
Diana, of course, beautifully wore the Revenge dress. But i personally find it too revealing and lacking the elegance and poise of a royal.
Yes I agree 100%. The bare shoulders AND the ruched up hemline was too much exposure.
So glad someone else feels the same. I think it was just the shock factor at the time and ensuing hype afterwords that influenced people's viewpoint
@@annatjienilsen539 Yep
That was kinda the point. She had lost her HRH title so she was no longer a royal when she wore it.
Yes, more black dress videos, please! More any fashion videos. :-)
Thank you for saying that you don't like the dress. I didn't either. It was a bit TOO over-the-top.
Well said.
Diana gave her interview first and Charle's documentary was in response.
I adore Billie but I truly don't think that dress would do anyone any favors.
Queen Elizabeth was stunning when she was younger! @@lynettefinnigan9540
When I was young I wanted to open a specialty boutique called LBD with only black dresses and accesories.❤😊
Your part about Diana’s “revenge” dress was a light bulb moment, that’s what Meghan was trying to emulate at Katy Perry concert! When has she ever wore stockings, like EVER! And she had in the little black mini dress! She was cosplaying Princess Diana yet again!!
"Notice, no tail!" You are genius.
Do you think some of the folks who dress these ladies don't like them??because some of those dresses are just mean to the wearer
You know . . . I think you're on to something here.
Diana’s “ revenge “ dress has always been interpreted by me as “ Look what you are missing, and I’m not missing you!”
Personally I don't like Dianas dress. I would probably like it more if she didn't have black nylons on and the hemline was straight
Yes; she was intentionally showing the world her rebellious side ( - and her thigh!)

@@keithgiblin2636 She could have done that with a better dress
It’s the rights!! I dislike black low denier tights…. No matter who wears them they will always look a little bit trashy

Thank you Beebs. I would LOVE more black dress looks as well as what works best on a different or challenging silhouette! ❤🇦🇺❤️
I love her!
Thank you Beebs .I really enjoyed the video and yes please, more LBD videos would be great.
I adore Tilda Swinton. She pushes the envelope.
She was telling Charles ,you can't touch this ever again.
Would love to see more black dresses ❤
You are kind. Think I’ve commented about this before but it’s worth mentioning again. Constructive, never cruel… that’s why I love your channel.
Thanks! 💛
One of those "I can't believe it needs to be said" moments!
Angelina wasn’t always stylish. But she improved a lot and simplified her style.
Bulls eye! 🎯 I so enjoy your perspective…thank you!
Thank you Beebs, loving the black dress series, keep it coming - as with all you do so well!
Oh thank you! & that does make sense!
Whatever she was thinking with the LBD, you can bet she knew what she was doing!
Love this video, yes I want to see more! 🖤 still on a mission to find THE perfect LBD for my body that would work for lots of occasions
How do you know that it galled Charles? Genuine question.
Kudos.💐💐💐💐
Thank you 💛💛
I like the black dress looks. ZENDAYA always looks gorgeous but I do like your number 1 choice best.
CoCo Chanel once gave her most sage advice for wearing accessories and knowing how much to wear. She said that as you're walking out the front door look in the hallway mirror and take off one piece off. Just one. If that's how CoCo rolled then who am I to question? Her advice has served me well.
I love the last one with mermaid bottom. Beautiful!!
I love both Zendaya black dresses! Thé full skirted one is gorgeous and classic and I love the pockets. The fishtail is slightly more perfect for her.
Those first three dresses I said trash bag before you said it. 10:57 My eyes don't know where to go! Great video Beebs.
Oh thank you! 💛
The mermaid dress is scrumptious

Aha! Mandela effect or something! I stand corrected. Thanks for writing.
I would love to have more of these type videos. You have a definite way of explaining things that just draws me in.
Yep I've always thought the black dress looked like the hem rode up.
Love the iconic dresses best and worst! Would love to see you feature the Blake Lively green/gold dress from the Met Gala.
More please. You know your stuff! Loved this video❤❤❤
Thank you for discussing Diana this time! She looked fantastic! Her and Katherine are the same height and look great in anything.
