Question - from my understanding space marines start of as scouts and then are promoted to full space marine stats, but then why is ultramarine sergeant telion a scout, he’s a named character so shouldn’t he be badass enough to be promoted to proper space marine?
One full space marine stays in the scouts to train the newbies up while they get used to their new bodies and gear. They have all the implants and do have a full set of power armour and everything els a normal space marine has. They just mainly keep scout armour and gear just cause its quieter and more scouty.
Except in 40k, fortunately is too small a word. You figure prisoners will be viewed as literal human garbage ignored in the eyes of the god emperor, but the chance to serve mankind and "redeem" themselves would mean it would be viewed as a chance at redemption and once again being seen as human and of worth in the eyes of the god emperor. Once who is abandoned from the protection of the god emperor at the end would probably mean they'd just end up as food, or a plaything for some demon of chaos which is about the worst fate possible in 40k.
Top 2 faction for me, Astra Militarum, Adeptus Mechanicus, probably followed by Tyranids and WE for me, but I have more AdMech mini's than any other faction and it's not terribly close lol
I fully expect 40k to slowly become less and less grimdark as time passes grimdark was fine for the super hardcore 40k fan but GW wants to make bank as more and more space opens up to grow
@@OneMindSyndicate Athough i could be mistaken. I might just be thinking of the Gretchin Revolution Committee. But i swore i saw something somewhere about a Special Gretchin Task Force that were tortured and trained by the inquisition to use against Orks.
The game Mechanicus taps into the Xenarites. I'd be interested in learning more lore about them.

You can't use petty thieves, not violent enough, besides if you servitorize all the petty thieves Primarchs won't have anyone to flay alive.

There will always be room for grim darkness within the codex lore and RPGs
If it isnt Grimdark it isn't canon, thus it is HERESY and it will be LIT AFLAME and then SPAT UPON.
