Mr. Schmidt it certainly was a surprise to find that wire?? You gave a good example how to check out the trans and maintain your self in adversity. Hopefully it will be a long while before anything else challenging occurs🙄🖐thanks for having us ride along.
The more I watch mr. Smith here the more I realize there's very few truckers left like him he's old-school down school and he knows what it's all about
There are three truck driver video makers who I have watched and you are my favorite. While the other two are nice, hard working people, you seem to keep your cool and knowyour stuff. Decades ago I hauled cars, got laid off, went back to college and kept going until i got an advanced degree, became a techy, and retired a few years ago. While I loved trucking, it was hard work, but I was young and stupid and could handle all the work I was given. Stay well
I enjoy your videos. I like seeing the Owner Operator side to Truck Driving. You are living the dream of alot of drivers out here with an awesome attitude.
I love your videos you said that you are not a good teacher but you just teach us How to look at a problem nice in calm and come out with a solution Thank you for your videos
I have to say Kurt im really impressed by your whole attitude to not just your family but your whole work ethos Im disabled and use a mobility scooter for out doors I spent £2000 on 4 knew puncture proof wheels and knew electrics throughout my scooter and knew front and rear lights fast forward 3 weeks the electrics short circuited the wheels blew out and the front and rear lights the bulb was the incorrect size
I'll give it to you for keeping calm on camera I seen the "look" just before you cut it off I'm with you take it back to that shop and have them make it right
Yep... I should've been a trucker. The printing trade consumed much of my work history. I recently retired from the newspaper publishing industry after 32 years of service. Our printing/ distribution facility was shut down and outsourced. Being cooped up in a building for 8-12 hour night shifts was agonizing. Lots of stress and headaches along the way, but it did pay the bills and put food on the table. As I see the hood view of the open road from your Kenny, I realize now... how I missed out. Opportunities were there, I just managed to get sidetracked along the way. That's life. Goin' forward, I'll enjoy your story and ride along through your lens. Stay safe!
Man all I can tell you is keep up the old school because that's what you're doing lost my wife about a week and a half ago thought about getting back into it but hell man I'm 59 now but that's reason why I came off the road was mama wanna be here every night raise the family so that's what I did and you're doing what you're supposed to do curious if you're related my brother-in-law because there's another Schmidt in the family but in a case I appreciate all you do you're one of those cool guys thank you
“Schmidt” The General Giant Trucker: Balling wire? For that much money, I’ll sell you the whole roll for $4,000! Damn brother, make sure they put the proper bracket back on there. Keep on trucking! Keep hydrated and stay safe!
That’s ur trans cooler , they are fun to change 😁 they updated the coolers with a larger in thicker foot to mount on top of the trans , The Old ones are just like a stamped piece of tin vibration breaks them
I love your pride, free spirit, and upbeat attitude. I wish more drivers had that old school approach to trucking. The new breed are all about themselves and could care less about their fellow drivers. Keep on trucking and God Bless!
Ohh and that tube on top of your trans is probably your oil cooler. Better be glad it didn't rupture on the inside. Mine did in Los Cruses Nm. Cost me about 18 hundred bucks to fix. It filled my oil pan full of Anti Freeze. Wonderful trip ... 😂😂😂
Mr. Schmidt, You are one of the most pleasant truck drivers I like to hear all of the time. May God Bless You and make things well and pleasant with you wherever you go and whatever you do.
I admire the way you kept your Cool and even made funnies while under so much pressure and getting injured, just gotta love you man, I'm not a trucker but my son-in-law is and I've always been partial to truckers anyhow, keep being you brother, thanks for keeping us supplied and fed stay safe and keep them videos coming, also say hi to Opie and the family.
Ur a calm brother under Pressure, u teach me a lot In my every day life encounters I used to drive a straight job Not any more but ur calmness and Attitude is something I definitely Can use in my day to day existence On this earth , keep up the good work Brother and keep on trucking
Nifty to be watching your various vid's and instantly recognize a local road clip on this one (32 from Whitestown to I-74 in west Indiana). Enjoy your vids!
If you haven't done one before, can you please do a video talking about what got you into trucking, and the path that you took to becoming an owner operator/getting your CDL. Love the videos!
Lets see, super wash job and two clamps, and hoses, when you get home. I want to be a fly on the wall, when you got to talk, to the shop, that did the trans job. Better yet, I want to sell tickets to the show. Best wishes, stay safe
I appreciate you you are still one of the very few old school truck drivers I started out that way over 35 years ago sold my truck to have family went to LTL I miss hearing that pretty cat and that Jake brake sometimes I wish I could be back out there again
Your vids rock man. While I’m still catching up, I’m watching every new video that you post. Despite what you say about teaching and advice and what not, I’m getting just as much out of it by just seeing your positive attitude and how you deal with everyday trucking situations. Heck, in such a short span, you’re already a contender for one of the top trucking TH-camr’s in my opinion.
I am new to your channel. I love the videos you make. I used to drive a 379 Pete. I loved that life. The only thing that kinda worried me was in the beginning of the video is that you rolled through two stop signs. If you go back and look you will see what I am saying. other than that I love the video. Keep on trucking and making videos.
Those pallets are going to Home Depot eventually it’s the pieces and hardware for the displays they setup throughout the store. I work there and I deal with those pallets every night 👍🏾
I found your channel couple weeks ago because I share you love for the w9s. Iv watched alot of your videos over the last two weeks, just Wanna say you seem like a great guy man. Keep up the good fight 🤙
Wow looking out over that hood brings back so many good memories of the road. I owned a 2000 model W900L. Such a beautiful rig. Thank you driver and take care out there .... Six Gun Willy an I'm back ouuuut ..
Well you're good brother! Is a hose. Not a major problem! Can limp it or get a hose made at a coming stop. Count your blessings! God bless Keep her shiny side up!
Praying for you brother that you finish the run and make it home. Take care of "FIRST CLASS" she won't let you down, and take care of yourself , because two belong together. Just keep on truck n 👍👌 it's always something. One thing I can say you always have a good spirit about life. IT'S GONNA BE OK big fella
I stumbled across a shop in your area that has done great work for me. I was a Chrysler Master Technician for years, but had too much on my plate to do so took my truck there and was very pleased with his service. Three Speed in Hornick, might give him a shout
That’s a real truck driver everyone he didn’t wait for the T.A .They shouldn’t give people a CDL without having some kind of mechanic skills it would save people a lot of money anyone else would have ruined that transmission thanks for sharing be safe .
My friend Good afternoon Hope you fix the hose problem when you arrive home. Regards Carlos Aguirre Quito Ecuador South America 3 September 2020 12:50 hours
How ya doing Mr. Schmidt, sorry to see the mechanical shenanigans you experienced, hopefully the shop that did the work will honor the repair work at no cost to you. God bless you and your family, stay safe and stay loaded.
Hey great video big guy love the truck and the upbeat attitude you carry want to tell you that old family freight liner from your older video is a beauty man keep rolling brother
I would love for you to have the double view of outlooking the road and watching you go through some gears...you got the dream truck...if you ever need something to talk about, I would like to hear the story of you buying the truck, what you expected buying it and other choices you considered, the story of having to go back through the truck, if not to personal how much some stuff cost. Great videos, keep it coming
Been Truckimg myself ...great to see your daily vlog 😀. I like your style of work and your business im Trucking ventures. As always Brother ; awesome 👌 vids
Hey, nice video. I keep a roll of this stuff called "rescue tape" in my truck. There are other brands as well. It's self fusing silicone tape you can stretch and wrap around a hole in a pressurized line and it will get you home. Too late if you don't have it in your truck, but buy a roll for next time. I always wrap a zip tie around the tape after to make sure it doesn't unroll.
Hi, I just found you on u tube a few minutes ago and I really enjoyed the two videos I watched,, so you now have a new subscriber, so I'll be looking forward to watching more of your videos.
You’re the only driver outside of my company, that I can honestly say you drive your truck VERY easy, and I love that. Just because you’ve got the muscle doesn’t mean you have to use it all the time, it’s nice to have when you need it, but why abuse’er all the time?
Trucking With Schmidt You’re very welcome! I’m driving an International (Intercraptional 🙄), IXS 13 (I wanna say?) Cummins with a 13 in it (I’m not sure about the gear ratio). It rides and drives like my 05 379 with the ACERT CAT in it. I’d chose my CAT any day of the week. 🤣
Bailing wire suppository to shop that did that half ass securing hose .. what other shortcut did they perform? Hope they make it good Be safe great video thank you 😊
If you got the twin turbo check the EGR cooler for coolant bypassing going into the engine very small amount and yes those radiators the cores do get clogged up with calcium white chalky substance Make sure your shroud is good your find hub is good. Best part about that radiator is you can replace upper and lower tank and you get money back when you send the core in.
Don’t worry Kurt things will get Better. 🙏 for u hope things get better Been broke down before not a fun feeling But I didn’t have pay for it . Looking out For u .
It's not bailing wire, it's mechanics wire. Ha. Sloppy work seems to be the norm. Pride in ones work is lacking. T/A or loves might can help with the hose leak. Like mentioned I would try radiator cap first. What are the coolant temperatures looking like?
The antifreeze blowing out the over flow I have a 2003 w900 doing the same thing and had the engine rebuilt because of a blown head gasket, "6nz c15" thinking it would fix the problem and it didn't, what happens is the the tabs on the cap vibrates and wears into the fill neck and it no longer seals, but I recently noticed a shiny spot on the cap so I looked on the inside of the hood and I can see a wear mark on the hood so basically when the hood is closed theres a clearance issue and it pushes the cap down ever so slightly and that's what creates my problem, check your cap the filler neck is easy to replace any rad shop can do it in the truck, I replace them myself there just soldered in good luck...
On the coolant loss have you renewed the radiator pressure cap? If the spring has gone weak it will allow coolant to escape and there did seem to be a few antifreeze crusts around the filler neck. Could be a cheap fix!
Hi! I had the same problem in my cat C15. It was the water pump, it was broken inside and it didn't make noise. I recommend you to check the water pump.
When you came out of love’s on N West Blvard in Iowa then went onto I-80 west I grew up in that area. I hunted as a kid everywhere the truck stops were. Then my family moved. I live in the are still it funny when you are driving over here in the eastern part of Iowa. Also I have a relative in Sioux City she owns a hair Solon. Lol
Mr. Schmidt it certainly was a surprise to find that wire?? You gave a good example how to check out the trans and maintain your self in adversity. Hopefully it will be a long while before anything else challenging occurs🙄🖐thanks for having us ride along.

Talking about construction, in Michigan, we have it ALL year long. We here in the great lakes state refer it to the 5th season.

Great intro to your video... I blushed when you said all those nice things about me. LOL
Lol
Lol
Dang that CAT just purrs away beautifully
Get a new radiator cap. It worked for me. Mine was pushing it out the overflow also
On the coolant loss have you renewed the radiator pressure cap? If the spring has gone weak it will allow coolant to escape and there did seem to be a few antifreeze crusts around the filler neck. Could be a cheap fix!
Hope everyone is well behaved on the road.
Hi! I had the same problem in my cat C15. It was the water pump, it was broken inside and it didn't make noise. I recommend you to check the water pump.
Will do. Did it leak out the pump at all? Truck doesn't get hot.
@@truckingwithschmidt7120 not leak and only running a little hot 195 to 200. The pump was broken in the chaft and not turning 100%.
I believe you said coolant was going out the overflow tube. Could be as simple as a radiator cap.
Could try that again, put one on a couple months back.
It don't take much once that oil gets hot it spreads. A little looks like a lot be careful
Keep doing a good job. Love your video

That glare when you discovered the bailing wire! I’ve done that my fair share of times, gotta love poor craftsmanship.
