The touch control is very hard to use, noise control does nothing, siri doesn't work... Another thing I noticed is on my genuine airpods, I can adjust the volume to as low as I want as long as it's not 0 then I still here the sound, for these fakes I have to reach a certain point, for example 10% to hear the sound. Got it as gift, haven't used it for long enough to spot anymore problems but feel so annoyed knowing it's fake.
I am so confused with mine: There are things to prove mine are real like the box, yet theres things like ear tips not changing, no noise cancellation. I'm convinced mine are fake but damn these companies ARE getting better.
Two key things you missed and should have included in your video. 1st, The charging cable on the real cable has small text/Apple branding on it, the fake will not have this. 2nd, All 6 ear tips if you turn them inside out they will have a S, M, or L on the inside, small, medium or large. Fake does not have this.
If mine are fake, they have the letter size in the inside. Time will tell if they’re real or not when I verify with a technician. The firmware version starts with 0 instead of 3 so I have my doubts even though the serial number checked out

The thing is... you never know how long the fake ones will last... you can probably imagine they don't have the same quality control... they are probably not water resistant either... no warranty...
I guess they could make the plastic wrap look the same the original one, but all we need is the feature and function is fully works and they did it better day by day as you said 👌🏼
One of the easiest ways to tell is at 4:53, look at the left side of the cases. The real has a rounder interior hole versus the fake (hopefully that makes sense)

Well, after seeing your last few videos, I’m confident mine are fakes. The sound quality is what tipped me off. The sound, while loud, just doesn’t seem very clean. The inner bit is plastic, the cable isn’t snug in the packaging, and the LED isn’t quite flush, thus looks darker, etc. They did get the outer package right though! The user guide has the correct pictures on the first page, but the over all print quality doesn’t seem right. Hey, I just bought a REAL MacBoom Air, so Apple already got plenty of my money. ha ha

Is it worth it for me to pay more than 100 € for an original charging case or is a fake charging case for 20 € enough ? Thank you, I just bought some from EBay for $85 and said the noise cancellation and transparency doesn’t work. The serial number on the R & L aren’t the same either. But everything else checks out, so I guess they just put the fake ones in a real box… no biggie, I live on a farm, so…still pisses me off.
Mine are fake but the only thing you were right with was the plastic charger holder instead of cardboard . Everything else was identical to the real ones .
They fixed a lot of these discrepancies on the fake ones now. I have some fake ones that show version 3 something and they also have the spatialize thing that he was talking about so be careful. They are getting better and better
My airpods pro set all have the same serial number printed on both earphones and the charging case but the number is different from the one printed on the box. Also the serial number that comes up on my phone when they're connected is different from what's print on the hardware. Firmware starts with 1A, the printing on the case lid is way different from what you showed, could that just be a regional difference? Mine do have the options for noise transparency and cancellation but idk about spacial sound because the firmware hasn't updated yet (I just started trying to update it). The earbuds do not come off and the led only flashes green for me or orange while charging.. the biggest thing for me is that when you connect them the image for the airpods and the case come up as it does for the real ones. So thats why I'm not sure whether they're real or fake.
Gooday sir.. I wanted buying form someone(used) i met him..but regected it 1. The led spot is whiteish and smooth.. 2. It has spatial sound Everything I checked was good as you said except A. The manual says” +IOS “ B. When i open close to my phone it shows “not your airpod” but after I connect it came normal “I wasn’t new so I wasn’t relly sure”.. Because of this I didn’t want to take any risk.. do you think it was a original??

Mine are fake but i knew that. I payed 50 bucks for them. They work quite well, I’ve been using them all day. The only problem is that sometimes the they disconnect. Network reset fixed it. Still using them now. Just to get by until the pro 2 comes out
I bought the fake ones they were really good but the only problem is the battery life It drains very quickly even when you’re not using them so I chucked it in the bin haha

I got a pair for my birthday mid November within 4 weeks they stopped working. I updated the firmware, reset my network setting, reset my phone settings, did a hard reset to the case and none of those solutions worked. Actually updating the firmware worked once but they stopped again after I put them in the case to charge. After talking with Apple Support I setup an appointment for Apple to look at my AirPods. Came in and within 15 seconds dude recognized off the packaging they were fake he didn’t even lift the lid of the charging case yet to check serial # and lettering (which was also off). He said majority of people that come in now with AirPods that stop working are because there are a lot of fakes being sold. Plus each counter had about 20 AirPod pros next to them ready to sell for anyone that came in with non-working fakes. It’s something that’s pretty common and popular. If buying the AirPods from a non apple store or apple supplier, don’t be fooled by the people that post the s AirPods that are still sealed in packaging. OfferUp/Facebook Marketplace a lot of people are putting “still sealed/unopened” in the descriptions and won’t show the serial # on the outside of the box but really they are hiding from showing more info if the AirPods are real or not. If you can ask for pics of the serial # under the lid of the AirPods case to see if the lettering is the same plus pic of each AirPod to see if those serial # are different. If the seller refuse to open the package to show you the serial # and lettering under the case lid they are most likely fake ear buds. Pay attention a lot of sellers aren’t showing pics underneath the charging case lid, it’s just unopened packages or pics without opening charger case because someone trying to get their money back because they got ripped off by someone else.

fake ones won't work if you also have an apple watch. You'll have to disconnect Bluetooth on your apple watch to use the fake air pods, then when you're finished with the air pods, you'll have to remember to reconnect the blue tooth on your apple watch, etc. It's a pain.

Mine are fake but I’m not really bothered because u said the sound and microphone quality is the same and it also has noise cancelling and same features. Mine passes 80% of the fake AirPods tests but it also has spatial audio and the plastic around the box is the same and the plastic wrap around them are the same as the real one. Wish I had seen this video sooner. Packaging and look is uncanny. I just bought 2 from OfferUp vendors, spent $100 each. The packaging was good, pull tab, serial all was good. Got home and thought they were the real deal. Turns out, the serial # on the two is the same although it looked like the "real" depiction and the C to ⚡ cable does not have any Apple branding (at least none I could see). The ear cups do have the lettering. If these are fakes, they're damn good fakes; so good in fact that it even fooled a techie / skeptic like me. Edit: It was the plastic tray that really made me double check them. Sure enough, hard plastic tray. Edit, edit: They weigh 57.2G. Now I'm confused.

get original because the fakes dont get the software updates and you already bought real ones so you might as well get the real case from apple so that you have full functionality
Mine had all the “real” characteristics except the plastic wrap on the box was the one he said was fake and the ear pieces are hard to take off. I got them from Walmart
@@houseofrae-vawn3875 Same here, I got almost all "real" charasteristics, but I realized that mine were fake becasue of the followings on this video: the inner plate of the box is plastic (should be carton), plastic bag was bad qualith, the manual corners are not rounded, both earbuds have same serial number as the box, and cancelation and transparency didnt work at all, but you have the same options and visual experience on the iphone like in 7:30 on the real one, but just that if you change the mode it do anything...

Im pretty sure I have a fake airpod but its actually improved compared to the one you showed in this video. Wow these fakes are getting better and better day by day. The battery lasts quite a while, the box looks improved, I can change the tips, the charging box looks like the original. The o ly thing I can't use is I cannot toggle anc. Maybe because I'm pairing it with android, that's why I cant change settings

With my fakes, I got the original packaging and new prompt, however all the other things were similar with fakes. I can’t update it though or actually hear noise cancellation. This is what I get when my parents don’t want to pay full price to get me a nice Christmas gift..

I would agree, except that it seems you haven't seen the new update of the firmware that allows the AirPods to have one of the greatest features in headphones ever. Spatial mode. That makes a big difference.
I bought “real” ones for my wife for over $100 while I paid $14 for fake ones for me. I say “real,” because the verdict is still out which I’ll check with an Apple specialist. Granted the fake case isn’t as flushed, little details on the “air pro 3’s” look a bit different than the airpods, and I don’t see the case battery or earbud batteries come up on the phone, the sound and bluetooth options all come up the same or very close... automatically syncs, can play/pause, power on/off, answer calls, skip next or go back, etc. the same way. The best $14 I’ve ever spent.
How sure are you about the serial number starting with GX in settings is fake? Everything you’ve said in your video matches to my airpods being real apart from my serial number which starts with GX in settings
does the hinge have the same clickiness and solidness on the fake because to test whether my friends have fakes I used to flap the lid a couple times, usually its not very solid like real airpods

I had this happen to me today. Walked to the store rep and they said the serial number is legit. I also looked up the green light. At least the older generation airpod cases had green light and that changes depending on what’s happening. Is it syncing, charging, etc. I wouldn’t disregard it’s authenticity by the light alone, but more so the overall product if there’s several things that seem out of place or different which this video definitely helps point out. Could be the airpods are real and case is fake or older generation or also vice versa that the airpods are fake and the case is real. Or they’re all real or fake

Mine are fake but i knew that. I payed 50 bucks for them. They work quite well, I’ve been using them all day. The only problem is that sometimes the they disconnect. Network reset fixed it. Still using them now. Just to get by until the pro 2 comes out
Everything on mine seems to check out but the ear cups on mine are difficult to get off. They do come off but not easily. Should I worry about this?

I got a pair for my birthday mid November within 4 weeks they stopped working. I updated the firmware, reset my network setting, reset my phone settings, did a hard reset to the case and none of those solutions worked. Actually updating the firmware worked once but they stopped again after I put them in the case to charge. After talking with Apple Support I setup an appointment for Apple to look at my AirPods. Came in and within 15 seconds dude recognized off the packaging they were fake he didn’t even lift the lid of the charging case yet to check serial # and lettering (which was also off). He said majority of people that come in now with AirPods that stop working are because there are a lot of fakes being sold. Plus each counter had about 20 AirPod pros next to them ready to sell for anyone that came in with non-working fakes. It’s something that’s pretty common and popular. If buying the AirPods from a non apple store or apple supplier, don’t be fooled by the people that post the s AirPods that are still sealed in packaging. OfferUp/Facebook Marketplace a lot of people are putting “still sealed/unopened” in the descriptions and won’t show the serial # on the outside of the box but really they are hiding from showing more info if the AirPods are real or not. If you can ask for pics of the serial # under the lid of the AirPods case to see if the lettering is the same plus pic of each AirPod to see if those serial # are different. If the seller refuse to open the package to show you the serial # and lettering under the case lid they are most likely fake ear buds. Pay attention a lot of sellers aren’t showing pics underneath the charging case lid, it’s just unopened packages or pics without opening charger case because someone trying to get their money back because they got ripped off by someone else.

fake ones won't work if you also have an apple watch. You'll have to disconnect Bluetooth on your apple watch to use the fake air pods, then when you're finished with the air pods, you'll have to remember to reconnect the blue tooth on your apple watch, etc. It's a pain.

Mine are fake but I’m not really bothered because u said the sound and microphone quality is the same and it also has noise cancelling and same features. Mine passes 80% of the fake AirPods tests but it also has spatial audio and the plastic around the box is the same and the plastic wrap around them are the same as the real one. Wish I had seen this video sooner. Packaging and look is uncanny. I just bought 2 from OfferUp vendors, spent $100 each. The packaging was good, pull tab, serial all was good. Got home and thought they were the real deal. Turns out, the serial # on the two is the same although it looked like the "real" depiction and the C to ⚡ cable does not have any Apple branding (at least none I could see). The ear cups do have the lettering. If these are fakes, they're damn good fakes; so good in fact that it even fooled a techie / skeptic like me.
Edit: It was the plastic tray that really made me double check them. Sure enough, hard plastic tray.
Edit, edit: They weigh 57.2G. Now I'm confused.

Mine had all the “real” characteristics except the plastic wrap on the box was the one he said was fake and the ear pieces are hard to take off. I got them from Walmart

@@houseofrae-vawn3875 Same here, I got almost all "real" charasteristics, but I realized that mine were fake becasue of the followings on this video: the inner plate of the box is plastic (should be carton), plastic bag was bad qualith, the manual corners are not rounded, both earbuds have same serial number as the box, and cancelation and transparency didnt work at all, but you have the same options and visual experience on the iphone like in 7:30 on the real one, but just that if you change the mode it do anything...

Im pretty sure I have a fake airpod but its actually improved compared to the one you showed in this video. Wow these fakes are getting better and better day by day. The battery lasts quite a while, the box looks improved, I can change the tips, the charging box looks like the original. The o ly thing I can't use is I cannot toggle anc. Maybe because I'm pairing it with android, that's why I cant change settings

I would agree, except that it seems you haven't seen the new update of the firmware that allows the AirPods to have one of the greatest features in headphones ever. Spatial mode. That makes a big difference.

I bought “real” ones for my wife for over $100 while I paid $14 for fake ones for me. I say “real,” because the verdict is still out which I’ll check with an Apple specialist. Granted the fake case isn’t as flushed, little details on the “air pro 3’s” look a bit different than the airpods, and I don’t see the case battery or earbud batteries come up on the phone, the sound and bluetooth options all come up the same or very close... automatically syncs, can play/pause, power on/off, answer calls, skip next or go back, etc. the same way. The best $14 I’ve ever spent.
Also the newer airpods pro from Apple are made in vietnam

I had this happen to me today. Walked to the store rep and they said the serial number is legit. I also looked up the green light. At least the older generation airpod cases had green light and that changes depending on what’s happening. Is it syncing, charging, etc. I wouldn’t disregard it’s authenticity by the light alone, but more so the overall product if there’s several things that seem out of place or different which this video definitely helps point out. Could be the airpods are real and case is fake or older generation or also vice versa that the airpods are fake and the case is real. Or they’re all real or fake
