- AMAZING VIDEO TAKEN 25 JUNE 07 IN SHEFFIELD. Places filmed include Ecclesfield, Chapletown, Meadowhall, Thorncliffe Industrial Estate and the last part of the video is Brightside Lane just off Upwell Street. The water on Brightside lane was around Six foot deep at the height of the flooding. The Police, who were stood behind me, had a call saying that a driver was still trapped in his car! The tractor went to look!
When you hear real music and it's magical thanks buddy
The day that i moved into my home in Sheffield.
The first thing i saw when i had plumbed me TV in, was calendar news video of a rescue helicopter above the wicker. Young lad died up millhouses way.
What an awful day.
I love the plant that keeps coming back!
Turns out it was Attenborough's plant cam
Never seen this footage until tonight , looks like it is happening again 2019 . Jesus watching that is scary didn't realise it got that bad , top bloke the lad in the JCB
I know the meadow hall bridge has already overflown let’s just hope it doesn’t it’s like the 2007 flood ...
@@N0t_R1l3Y Could be as bad , the rain hasn't stopped all night and still pissing down now . and when it does stop it can still be running down off the hills for days after so tomorrow will be a shock .
What happened today is nothing comparable to that of 2007... It was national... I was caught up in Gloucestershire first, and then again in Sheffield!

I lived at Ladys Bridge on the Wicker at the time. I remember this like it was yesterday.
Anyone notice Sheffields famous pair of cooling towers?? They're not there any more, been demolished:(
@2:00 is that the cooling towers that used to be at the side of the Tinsley viaduct in the background?
1:25 that’s Forgemasters
I worked at forgemasters when this happened.that bloke in the jcb was my boss at the time.i had to get back home to jordanthorpe that day.
Thats me, i sailed home that day in the blue bin
I was in Lloyd's Gym that day. We heard an almighty racket, stepped out to see sea rescue chopper hovering over some industrial units, rescuing people. Carlisle St was gridlocked which is unusual because through traffic usually uses Brightside Lane. But that day Brightside Lane was a river.
I was working on my own at a house on East Bank Rd I had to get home to High Green I went wrong way down one way streets ran red lights etc ended up at Thorpe hesley ditched my 2002 focus estate then walked almost waist deep along cowley Lane to get home
Watching this shows me how dangerous 3 days of rain can be...
So sad that the bloke who drove the JCB and rescued those people is no longer alive.
He was only about 43 years old at the time.
Committed suicide over a silly misunderstanding with some family members.
That is so sad x
3:21 bin boat/ 2:00 tree having a swim
Arthur Neemes tbh if I was older in 2007 I'd use it as a boat
Haha
This is like one of those “ I put happy music over a disaster” videos
This is one of my earlier memories, I was at holiday in the summer in 2007 and the rain was the worst I had ever seen. We just stayed in the tents constantly.
2:00 - Palm tree is having a right day out!!!
Ha

Is the flooding still a problem? Any more floods after that day?
Yes November 2019 some people were trapped and had to spend the night in meadowhall.

great footage dude
I worked that day on Brightside Lane it was certainly different
Fantastic video
Perfect song for the video .
I remember this day like it was yesterday. I didn't have College that day so I was home luckily, my bro had gone to school and my mom was at work. My bro got let out at 2 because school was flooding and mom finished work at 3. They both had to walk home, my brother looked like he'd been bloody swimming. I made him strip his clothes off on the doorstep and put everything he was wearing in the bin. not washing stuff that were soaked in mucky Don water and the converse I'd bought him for his birthday two weeks before were ruined, made him get straight in bath then my mom did the same when she got home.

Part of this footage was used on Calendar, I was also interviewed. ITN News used parts for a news special on Tuesday 26th june 2007. Repeats have been showed very recently.
It's on TH-cam. You've got a great Yorkshire accent
Paul F I worked at forgemasters and my gaffer was on calendar too.he was in the jcb
It did seem that in may 2007 that we had a positive AO, but when our AAM dropped we knew by that time we would get extensive moments of HLB. Our easterly QBO was partly responsible for our summer washout in 2007 along with negative zonal winds across the troposphere aligning with the weak sea ice, the flip from el niño to la niña like we had in 1998 and 1988 meant that our chances of a good summer were screwed and we had very low solar activity at the time as well.
Nifty bit of reversing at 3 minute mark!
I remember walking from Mosborough In rotherham were the new build were. All the way to Longley park to get home. Shit nearly killed me.

This is what you get when the councils don’t clean the drains. To save a bit of money then ends. Costing a twenty Million
um the flooding was a 1 in 400 year event so i doubt cleaning the drains would've helped much.
I was born in 2007
1:17 i lived so close to that i was so scared :) lol
I can understand the choice of song due to its title, but it's bloody dreadful.

from my starting said of swimming was there a very stupid cop i have ever seen

selfishly he took out he’s gun and targeted me
he shouted if don’t get back to him he will shots me i refused first so we was shouting at each other then the camera man was there he called me please come back here he will shot you i advice you to do what he wants
all that happened within i’m still in that trouble water with shaking all my body

he will definitely gonna shots me
unfortunately decided to go back all the way rather than be shot .
he could play all that stupid with me because i was migrant
