My wife and I won the sidecar class on out Triumph Thunderbird/Wessex touring outfit back in the last century. Burnt the clutch out on that last climb but managed to limp into Newquay for the finish. Amazingly, I managed to acquire a new set of plates and fit them for the 300 mile ride home :)
Good to see the MCC is still going strong - unlike us in our 80s.

Great vid. I love the variety of Bikes. I would like to come down to spectate at Blue Hills next year. What is the best time to get there to see the Bikes?Or are they going up the hill all day? I'm not really interested in the cars.( sorry😢).
Also can anyone tell me what model of Bike lady rider no.5 was riding @3.54? Cheers.

Ed. Glad you liked the video. According to the Entry List Suzanna (No.5) was riding a Scorpa TY125 (125cc). She was good.
Normally the motorcycles begin filtering through Blue Hills about 11:30 to 12:00. There were 150 bikes entered, they leave the Bridgewater start at 1 minute intervals (first away at 16:01 Friday). They tackle 20 sections. By the time they get to the 2 final sections at Blue Hills the timing can get a little sporadic! Although I must say the organisers do well to keep the event running smoothly. A total of 350+ competitors takes some controlling!

@@denzel240 Thanks very much for your reply. That's really helpful. I will try to get down there next year. I'll have to Google the Scorpa, I don't know anything about them but Suzanna rode it well. And yes, it looks as though the organizers and marshall's do an excellent job. Cheers.

Blue hills is deceptive, but after riding all night,by the time you get there your clutch and throttle coordination is shot to bits, I got a silver many years ago on a DR 400 back in the days before they had a gate across it,for sidebars its quite hard as you only have one line and the shale does you no favors at all

Triumph T100 498cc. I hope I'm right in saying these bikes were produced between 1959 and 1974. This gentleman has entered this bike for many years. Exceptional rider.

2 problems with a trials bike, small fuel capacity and low top speed. The start was some 22 hours previously in a town 130 miles away by highway, their route is even longer.

@@russcattell955i I believe that a pilot on Sammy Miller's Ariel Gov 132, or similar myth, even one of the first Bultaco 250, with one or two 10 liter cans of petrol, can do it.
Use this tip as a "challenge" for next year...
      A pilot might try...
