Incredible the cars that the 465hp Grand Sport beat at Big Willow. Beat the Ferrari 488, AMG GTS, 991 911 turbo S, Mclaren 570S, 991 911 GT3...it only went .26 seconds slower than the GenIV ACR (SRT10) and that car had serious downforce and 608hp to go with it. C7 Grand Sport is the C7 to start with if you're a track guy. Then build into it, upgrade the engine, then maybe parts bin dive for ZR1 aero later.
+Sasa Susnjara No, why not? Because the old guys that buy corvettes take extremely good care of them? Keep them immaculate, well maintained, everything recorded, and only drive them at hiway speeds on sunny days? I'd never buy an evo or sti used. But a corvette? I'd happily buy my next one used. Bought my c5 used with zero regrets.
+Sasa Susnjara I bought my c5 corvette used with full maintenance records and in great shape. The only thing I've had to do with it is maintenance. That and since I modify everything as things wear out I am perpetually upgrading the car. A check engine light wouldn't bother me. I'd just run the code and upgrade whatever needed replacing. Corvette is usually one of the safest cars to buy used. Can find one an older guy babied for 3 or 4 years before selling it because it's to hard to get in and out of. A check engine light isn't scary, it's an opportunity for increasing performance.
+Sasa Susnjara 2 of my friends have gt-r's. Not terribly fun cars to drive. The viper is cool, fast, and the best it's ever been... but it's a torture machine vs being comfortable like in the grandsport. I've also had a Porsche, and 2 toyota mr2's. Bang for the buck is hard to beat with the corvette. I am interested in the new zl1 camaro though.
That was the initial Z06 time but they had rear caster issues at that test. When GM recalibrated the mag ride and aligned the car properly, like stated above it went 1:25's.
@@Fat-bananas even more nuts is they just did the ZR1 and that ran a 1:23.70. So you will pay double the cost of a C7 GS for 3 seconds. Now you could upgrade to a Mclaren 720s and get 2 seconds off of the ZR1 time and that car is in the 250-300k range. So for the price of a nice house and the GS you can get 5 more seconds off your track time.
GM should've of at least bumped the power up to 500-505. Make it that much more special than the Stingray. I'm seeing a lot of potential buyers just opt for the Z06 due to the closeness of the prices. I honestly feel like the Corvette team should follow the Porsche GT4 and GT3 in those respects and MAKE IT SPECIAL! Some of us don't need the craziness of the Z06 and prefer the precision the GS brings. #StillOnTheFence #Undecided
Chevy could make the GRAND SPORT even better if they had a unique engine. suggestion- updated, more power with an LS-7, NATURALLY ASPIRATED OHV 427CID & then Chevy CAN INSTALL the TALL REAR SPOILER. It will WORK.
Bought a 2019 Corvette Grand Sport with a MANUAL TRANSMISSION, and it's great fun. Buy one. Life is a limited time offer.
So's the 2019 Corvette Grand Sport.

Yes that’s the one we’re talking about. Great sports car. Enjoy it even more than my NSX.

A heads cam package on this car would be nasty. Z06 power while being a couple hundred pounds lighter and less heatsoak. That's what I would want.
Randy makes it so easy to make any car go fast!!
Best C7 Ever! Will be missed!
Im sold! wish he would have opened it up more
4:10 Randy is not thrilled with this tire dude
Can't wait to buy a lightly used GS in about 3 years.

+Sasa Susnjara What's scary? I plan on heavily modding it like my c5 is. Why spend a ton of money for a warranty that is useless to me.

+Sasa Susnjara Base they start at 79k. It could be a high miles base z06 or it was mildly wrecked.
Seems like once traction lost in older Vettes, there's no correcting. This GS seems more forgiving, more correctible than Vettes past. True?
100%
I know my Corvette C7 Grand Sport is very predictable and reasonable (while still being crazy fun).
Is the Grand Sport more capable then the ZL1 1LE? Asking for a friend.
depending for sraihht line speed i would just barely say zl1 but for basically anything else the grandsport for sure
Great video.
wow even faster than the Z06 lap time 1:27.10sec at the same race track.
Rex Marcellana no it's in the low 1:25s

@@KnightDriveTV so you get a second for that additional 190 hp.
@@kabloosh699 exactly what I'm thinking right? the GS seems to be the best performance value out of the C7 lineup

Earlando Johnson Just mod it and have fun with it ;)
LG Headers will get you to that power level.
I’m lucky enough to own a Corvette C7 Grand Sport with a Manual Transmission, and it genuinely has all the power it needs. It’s perfect.
Sounds like zr1 to me :-)
Only problem is its not. ZR1 is still the KING
Randy! Wrong camera!
Zain Lolololololololol Just saw it.
No no he just turned his eyes to the camera ......lol :-)
