The polestar staff at my local polestar ‘shop’ was so good they weren’t pushy and were very informative. After sitting in the car I ended up testing driving one and it felt amazing and it’s now top of the list!
Great review! As a Polestar 2 owner, I can vouch for its remarkable driving experience. I also have a Tesla Model Y - while innovative, it's let down by build quality and driving dynamics. The Rivian R1S, on the other hand, is truly the best electric SUV out there. But the Polestar 2, with its unique design and commitment to sustainability, truly stands out for me. Thanks for the insights!

@@robc7563I got the Tesla 3 but upgrading myself to a polestar 2 in coming weeks. Can’t wait for the P2. Then upgrading to P4 when it comes. Already order done for that also

I found when test driving the car, that the grey box around the car on the 360 camera was really useful, because it seems to perfectly account for where the car sticks out either side. So basically, when reversing into a bay, so long as you get that grey box perfectly lined up with the front and back of the bay, you know that the car is positioned right and not sticking out at all

What they’re doing is turning off the limiter and allowing you to use the full potential of the dual engines. That’s what your performance upgrade is. Don’t drink the marketing sauce.

On the subject of brakes with an EV you hardly have to ever touch the breaks as regen braking does 99% of your breaking; SO much greener than a dirty ICE vehicle.

The Polestar 2 BST edition 230 has even more driver focus. The Polestar 3 has air suspension and has even more boot space. They had a big stand at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Polestar 6 looks fantastic. The Rolls Royce Spectre (which was also at Goodwood FOS) has a massive bonnet and NO frunk! What a waste of space!

You mentioned feeling sick in EV cars. I test drove a Kia ev6 and felt a bit queasy. Is this a thing? I thought it was just the Kia handling.

Worse than 19. Worse lateral grip, worse ride, worse range. That is literally any car with poser wheels.
Hilarious review but good and honest . . . those factoids at the end aren't true though. Yes, the biggest source of material pollution from a car are things like brakes and tires but CO2 is easily the big, planet changing problem (EV's are very very light on their brakes but about the same as a heavy truck on their tires) As far as the environmental impact of manufacturing, if you take into account that that the lithium and other precious metals can be recycled into newer vehicles then that makes the environmental impact of one EV's manufacturing MUCH less.
Same as a heavy truck on their tires???? Mate, trucks are about 15x heavier than a polestar 2! How on earth are they gonna have similar tire wear?
@@yesyesyesman757 I'm Canadian, mate. Us and the Usa have a ton of trucks on the road. FYI, Ford F-150 truck weighs between 4 and 5.5k pounds while a Polestar 2 (2022) weight around 4.7k pounds.
Almost bought this car but the cup design in middle is bad
This is the only factor putting me off also and wondering whether to wait for 2025 when they might get rid of it. Also, why cant they put the gear stick on the steering wheel and use the space for cup holders and storage ...
That last comment was pointless, you hardly use brakes … you regen brake, brakes of EV’s hardly needs to be replaced. Tires on the other hand … so if you wanted to make an eco remark you should have played it on the tires.
