Surely adding 2 out of practice trainers and linking their Pokémon's souls together will make it easier! ★ RULES ★
-Only one Pokémon can be caught per area, and we can only catch the first Pokémon we encounter in that area.
-Each encounter is paired with each other making them "soul linked"
-If one person fails to catch their encounter or knocks it out, the other person forfeits the encounter as well.
-Cannot catch a duplicate of any Pokémon.
(Dupes/Species clause)
-
If a Pokémon faints in battle it is classified as DEAD and must be boxed
for the remainder of the run.
-If one of our Pokémon fall in battle, it's linked partner will activate it's "Last stand clause" where it can fight as if it is still alive until the end of the battle, where it is then considered dead.
-
Will be limiting healing items to only 3 per fight.
(If one of us lose a Pokémon during battle, the 3 healing items will be refreshed)
-The battle mode is set to SET.
-My Pokémon's levels can not exceed the level of the next Gym leader’s
highest Pokémon.
-If I white out/black out, the run is OVER
-All wild Pokémon can call allies
-Can decide to take called ally for encounter
-Force fully evolved trainer Pokémon at lvl 35
-If one persons Pokémon in a soul link is put in the PC or knocked out than the other linked Pokémon must follow/share the same fate
-Randomized fossils can be used as an extra encounter in the route the 2nd fossil half was found (both players will need to find 1 fossil for this to come into effect)
Typing rules:
-No repeat of primary types across both parties (1 Pokémon pair may break this rule however)
-No pair may share the same primary typing
-Flying Pokémon may have either of their typing declared for their primary. (since every flying type Pokémon has flying as secondary rather than primary typing)

Hex has 65 power, which was doubled because of your paralysis, then doubled AGAIN because it was super effective, and Giratina wasn't at full health. 260 base power definitely kills there. The sad part is in your heart, you knew it. RiP Giratina

Joey, just for fun I ran the calc of a Hex coming from a neutral nature, 31 IV, 0 Special Attack EV lv45 Chandelure against a lv46 Giratina with 217 HP and 141 special defense. With the para doubling the power of Hex, it would do somewhere between 71.8% and 85.7%. You were at 76% health. So it’s possible it was a roll to kill, and under these circumstances the chances were exactly 75% of all damage rolls would kill.
HOWEVER, this is assuming that the chandelure has no EVs in special attack, no special attack boosting nature, no items that boost damage, and no ability that boosts damage. So honestly your damage calc wasn’t that far off because it only narrowly killed, but in this comment section, we worship the Blood God

EDIT: I also ran the calc for that Kyurem versus Skulls Rayquaza. Fun fact, the lowest damage roll with a neutral nature Kyurem is 180. The lowest damage of a special attack lowering nature is 160, which is what happened. Max roll was 192. Rayquaza had 174 health. So our Leviathan got very lucky that A: Kyurem had a special attacking lowering nature, B: Kyurem low rolled the damage, C: Kyurem had 0 EVs invested in special attack, and D: Skull gave him an assault vest
NEW ROADS. Our trainers are on the brink of the final island. With lots of fights still ahead will they make it through? A bad start on the episode with a pretty boring pair but then they snap back with NECROZMA and TORTERRA. And is you thought that was good… a kidnapper leads them too TWO LEGENDARIES. They decide to add their new pair along with Walrein and Nihelego. After a team show off the pick up their bags and take a deep breath before the challenges ahead. (Intense music starts). A quick two pop for Skull and before you know it his fight is over. On joeys side it was all looking good until… literally nothing he set up to death. Without a checkpoint?? Or there might be idk. The death on Brews was really telegraphed. As soon as Hau’s Garchomp never showed EQ, so the swap in was FryGuy (Metagross) to resist Slaking. Its Attack Stat is *so high* you need to respect it more than most things on the field.
What a episode can believe Rayquaza tanked that hit!

When it comes to ev training your mons, its better to focus on what they are good at rather than trying to go for a balance, The lower the base stat the worse the return. Its good to focus on 2 maybe 3 stats and ignore the weaker stats as they won't raise very much, if a mon already has a decent attack and good defense focus on maxing there defense, or work on being an attacker and there better defense for a good switch. It tends to lead to the question, Why not kill faster and heal less instead of healing more because you get hit more the longer the opponent is out.
Keep up the work, but it hurts to lose such an anchor mon the way it happened.

If you full restores Giratina might have lived, simply because hex does more damage to pokemon who have a status condition and full restore would have fixed that. Still would have been super effective though. Name: Reign (male) Rain (female) Hex (neutral)

With Giratina, wouldn't sucker punch have killed there against Chandelure? Ghost is weak to dark and sucker punch has priority against opposing attack moves, plus you were up attack from D dance. Strong chance to one shot there instead of losing the pair

There was ABSOLUTELY no way Giratina would ever live that hex.
You underestimate how strong Chandelure is. It has a base sp.atk of 145!!! And hex against a statused pokemon has a base power of 130!!!!!!!! With STAB that's basically a 195 power move. And with super effective it's essentially 390 base power.
So a 145 base sp.atk mon is using a STAB 130 base power which is super effective against you? Yeah that was so overkill that it probably would have killed even if Giratina had 3 times more health.

I think there should be a rule for toxic spikes, it's kinda op if you can set it up twice and just badly poison almost every pokemon that comes out. Like maybe the first set is okay but to earn the second set of toxic spikes you have to knock out a pokemon first.
