- Today I queued 2s with my GC1 friend to see how he could compete in top level pro SSL lobbies. We ran into Firstkiller, AlphaKep, and more. Here's how it went.
I am a professional Rocket League player competing in the RLCS with Gen.G Mobil1 Racing.

There are so many good player at GC1. The biggest problem is one, playing with random mate can't make you move up the ranks. Most of CG1 player are good in defense and rotation but they lack in attack. Which is why they managed to win 3 games. In summary a GC1 is a player unable to win a game alone with a random partner who does not know how to play because he does not yet have the qualities to be able to score alone and boost the partner.

If you read everything i wrote, without contextualizing the sentence, you would understand that I am referring to those who are unable to boost the random mate. There are exceptions like it can be your friend, but it's 0.1% of players.@@yuqumi
I have this problem but I'm good on defense and offense I just can't stand peoples brains below high gc3, my play style is based off predictions and I'm really good at it but gc2 is rough when you're tm8s and opponents don't know what they're doing themselves

Enemy had a bounce for an air dribble, he tried to prejump that
Definitely prevented the defense from jumping earlier. If he hadn’t pre jumped that, the shot would’ve come from farther away and been harder to save.

Being hard stuck really just has to do with consistency and or teaming up with someone at your skill level regularly
Rl is about opportunities when you get to gc. I could play with higher level people without a doubt but without exposure to those lobbies I'll never have the chance. You can't just rise through the ranks with straight mechs. At least I can't. But as a gc1 I think I could play in gc3 no problem after a few games to get used to it.

Can i get some tips for 2v2 solo q, ive been mid-high gc2 around 1650 for about 3 seasons ina row and last season i was hardstuck mid gc1, i find it hard to read gc1s so much more than gc2 since theyre so much more inconsistent and i feel like that is what is keeping me from getting my rank back. Idk just thought id ask
you have to be the best and fastest in the lobby because gc1-low gc2 sucks ass and they think theyre good, work on consistency and not leaving your teammate alone by going for more ground plays

I think you'd be surprised how many of us in GC are held back by teammates. When I do occasionally team with an SSL we pop off. But then going back to GC1 some of the players are so inconsistent and bad that the "playing conservative in solo queue" effect limits our potential lol
When u play with ssls they are thinking the samething about you. They are forced to play conservative. The only difference is that they are good enough to make up for ypur mistakes. Thats why u "pop off".
Yeah you gotta realize playing with somebody better let's the worse person play at their full potential. But not the other way around. At most the carry will be pleasantly surprised when you do something, it's not like they are gonna peak in any of the matches you play together though

this doesnt get talked about enough. a 100% solo que champ one player is a gc1. the solo que life is so funky one game to the next. one game you get musty the next you get a blind 75 year old. you win 50% of the games all the time because you tm8. it is imposible to move.

@@tomtomsen9492 GC MMR is like 1400. Pro SSL MMR is more than 2200, at the top pros even reach 2400 so these guys are in an entire different level
