She's one of the most versatile singers from India singing peppy songs, cabaret songs, ghazals, romantic songs and other types. She is also a restaurateur and still works with the chefs at the restaurants to create her own signature recipes.

Romantic ones - Abhi na Jao Chod Kar is one of my all time favourites. Another one would be Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dilko.
For ghazals, I adore the ones from Umrao Jaan. Dil Cheez Kya Hai and In Ankhon ki Masti are the most popular ones. However, I find Ye Kya Jagah Hai Doston a bit more melancholic and touching

Whenver Asha ji about to hit those higher notes he always paused it and break the flow of the song.. That came 3times in whole song and he paused exact 3times there and broke the transition from lower notes to higher notes.. That was so irritating 😑

Yes the incredible Asha ji. The best singer for me with Sunidhi. Queens of Vocal expressions. They both have such a way with lyrics. That quality makes them difficult to copy. But anyway do react to Sunidhi Chauhan at Hum Awards please.

Her voice is like honey and it sounds very real. And the other feeling you get is what you said effortless. It does not have the synthetic feel that we hear in some singers. She is the most versatile singer in the Indian film industry. Classical, disco, ghazals you name it she has sung. There is a sensuality in her voice that makes you want to sway to her songs. In aankhon ke masti mein from Umrao Jaan,( the original starring Rekha), piya tu ab to aaja, pyaar karne waale,jawaani jaaneman and the iconic dum maaro dum are few of the vast repertoire of songs that cements her status as one of the greatest playback singers in the Indian film industry.

The first word that comes to my mind is "Nightingale".
Both lata and her sang lot of beautiful songs. And they had a very female high sporano type voices. Obviously these live performances by them is of their old age so the voice is little loose. You should react to their live old performances( rare).
Otherwise obviously recorded or film songs and videos are always there to listen to. Even in their 40s would do. You will enjoy them a lot.

The woman has been singing for 80 years now. 12000+ recorded songs on her name.. I don't think anyone else can even come close to those records. Asha and Lata are just born once in many centuries kind of artists.
Asha Bhosle has a completely versatile voice quality, unlike her melodious elder sister Lata Mangeshkar. There was no kind of song that didn't suit her voice....a beautiful & almost mischievous tone....very charming. You need to listen to more of her to truly appreciate her versatility
