    • @mapleleafesl6162
      @mapleleafesl6162  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, both are correct. The phrasal verb 'take back' can be separated (take something back) or not (take back something). Just remember that when you use a pronoun (it, them, him...) you should put it in the middle (take it back), and not after (take back it

    • @ZOTANx
      @ZOTANx 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This rule about (it, them, him..) putting them in the middle, does it work for all phrasal verbs?

    • @mapleleafesl6162
      @mapleleafesl6162  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it is generally true for all phrasal verbs that are separable. Some phrasal verbs like get off, drop out, look into and so on are NOT separable and so therefore this would not be true for those ones.

    Dr teacher i have a question that is not related to phrasel verb but related to ''TAKE''.
    what we mean when we say
    take tea,
    take coffee,
    and take +food
    take meal,
    take pitza.
    in which sense we use it by ''take tea'' we mean to grab tea or drink tea...
    is there any rule for this and is take pitza makes a sense.thanks

    • @mapleleafesl6162
      @mapleleafesl6162  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Take tea and take coffee both sound British to me, though I'm not completely certain. The other three don't really make sense to me. Take OUT some food or pizza would mean to take it home from a restaurant rather than eat it there. Or take some pizza WITH me would mean to bring it with me. But alone it is poor and unnatural English.

    • @tabishkhan9843
      @tabishkhan9843 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dr teacher you are absolutely right before i was little bit confuse but now from your explaination i got a clue.
      According to what i have learnt if we talk about TAKE
      Actually we dont TAKE A COFFEE unless there are bunches of coffees and you go over and actually physically take the coffee.
      And when we talk about going somewhere for coffee we dont use verb take like TAKE A COFFEE.
      But instead to make it more emphatic i mean better we will say
      HAVE A COFFEE.
      OR
      GET A COFFEE.
      and i think get a coffee sounds more natural though have a coffee is ok too.
      We can also say.
      SIP A COFFEE
      ALSO
      DRINK A COFFEE
      but it is very strange.
      Also
      Dr teacher as TAKE A COFFEE is a collocation i think its not a good combination of Verb+Noun in driniking sense.
      It is like pickle + honey combination .lol
      Same story for take pitza.
      GET A COFFEE is like
      Cherry + honey.
      Which is a good combination.
      Dr techer one thing i explained just to clear myself not to teach you.
      So pls guide and pls correct my mistakes.
      Thanks teacher.

    • @mapleleafesl6162

    Sir "take to" it means to start something as a habit or start enjoying something or like someone so can i say I never take to cooking. Is it correct?

      @mapleleafesl6162  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that's right, though it should be in the past tense or perfect tense: I never took/I've never taken to cooking.

      This sentence would be better used in the progressive: I'm taking to my new job.
