Love this car I think GT7 did a good job with it. I honestly thought it would be difficult to handle but it drives quite nicely. I’m currently using it for the Sardegna race 800 it works really well. The price was definitely higher than I’d of liked. 1.6 to 3m is more acceptable than 6m.
I too am using it for Sardegna 800. I love it for that race.
Same, have it for just under a week now and already did 1.600km on it. Sardegna is a one stopper for me on Race Hard, medium does not scale due lower power setting for me.
My spec gives a 800,00 performance score. I run 86% power, 7kg ballast and I believe it was a +5 offset in placement. Power limiter 100% cause that thing just sucks rectum on pretty much all NA engines.
On turbo engines with 6+ cylinders, with way wider powerbands there is less setback in drive ability.

I love the clk lm it handles AWESOMELY around sardegna but yes it's well over priced but you cant put a limit on an AWESOME beast of a vehicle which is every racers dream because I remember it in earlier gran turismo's and seeing on the news at le mans and thought it was a gorgeous looking car compared to some of the other car competing
I'm a huge fan of the CLK racing cars.
The CLK LM is a GT1 machine with superpowers, or a prototype trying very hard to fool you into thinking its in the GT classes.
Once I accepted that it isn't quite a prototype like the Sauber C9 and 787b, I was able to race to the car's strengths.
"Very low effort, super smooth, very forgiving, very easy to drive" on long distance
That is exactly why I love this car
CLK-LM did not shine in Le Mans, however it is the winner of the GT1 race in 1998 as a successor for the CLK-GTR, I think you should mentioned it. This car has a massive fan base along with the CLK-GTR and the CLR. And IMHO this car worth every penny of its price. Simply put this car is iconic.

@@eobardthawne324 No the 1998 Le mans 24 was won by Porsche with the 911 GT1-98 the Mercedes retire early on in the race due to the rushed development of the long distance engines.
This is IRL an exceptional car on both road and track. Its rarity factor fuels the price and onward and upward it is guaranteed to soar. I’ve just paid 8.5 at Hagerty and it is worth every penny, or every hour of grinding, on every level.💯
The CLK GTR with the V12 and the CLK LM with V8, that was the weight savings to what it is in GT7. 940kg
The "Potatoe Cam Days", I remember! It had its charm & coziness though.
I wish they had brought back the Toyota GT-One such a great car, especially for Le Mans

It might not be the best option for specific PP Races but it's definitely one of the quickest Gr.2 cars in the game!
I still can remember grinding 2 days for this car back in the nerfed payout days and it was definitely worth it!
The price has raised by 500.000cr since then so better get it now before it gets even more expensive!
This is my first gran turismo game and I still bought it because I thought it was unique and cool 🤷🏼♂️ I’d agree on your assessment of driving it. A pleasure to handle and a great car to use for grinding endurance races. Good thing, too, because I need to grind a lot to recoup the cost. I don’t consider it an investment though because this is the kind of thing I’ve been saving for - a cool legendary car that I’ll actually spend a lot of time driving.
This was one of my favorite cars in the older games.
Grinding on Sardegna with the CLK was fun, with the right -800 tune, it's quite easy to handle. Before that i used to drive the SC430 turbo Lexus that gave me around 1:34ish. But with a NA CLK, it was able to reach 1:34ish with more fuel to spare. Plus it sounds cool👍

This is what I always wanted....I like the GTR more than the LM. But I think they wouldn't due to it's too similar with the LM and I red it somewhere that there is some sponsorship issue.
They could but ultimately the CLK GTR would be slower than the LM if specs were accurate to real life.

The LM would definitely win at straights due to it basically being a low drag version of the GTR, though.
@@mahiru20ten The V8 of the LM was a lighter engine than the V12 of the CLK GTR the LM also had improved aero and more downforce this meant it was around 3 seconds per lap quicker than the GTR. If you watch the footage 1998 FIA GT Championship on TH-cam the CLK LM is superior to the GTR.
Now they have increased the price to 8.5 m. I just hate how they are so committed to microtransaction. I really wanted this car in my collection.
I enjoyed this car for Sardegna and Spa 1hr, just felt incredibly stable, forgiving and consistent. However it gets boring in comparison to the 787, which is a lot more fun to push. I'd love to see you do a video on the Porsche 962!
Drove it for the first time today at Spa 1 hour and Sardegna twice.. I loved it once I got used to exiting corners. It just like you said, fine going in & around, just seems to understeer when powering out.
I think this car was in “test drive Le Mans” in my old Dreamcast.I used to drive it all the time in that game.In this game I find it fun but not as effective as far as credit building.I have a blast setting up custom races and racing it.
Now its 8.5M!! damn!!
I was wondering on how this car was going to be received, given the nostalgia. This was by far one of my prized cars in GT4 (ironically for my money exploit). At first it seemed to be uncontrollable but then at that time my skill level wasn’t as developed. I’m still going to have a go at it and the way you’ve tested cars isn’t too far from how I’d view them. As to a ups and downs but the car is what it is imperfect perfection. Quite interested on that blasted Grand Vitara to show up in GT7 but I think, nostalgia aside, it may not live up to the hype. Unless it gaps a Tomahawk.

lol. You took out that longtail. Agree with you though. Car is too expensive for what you actually get. People who love this car will gladly pay it.
Luckily for me this car first appeared in the Legendary dealership just after the update that added the gold bonus payouts for Circuit Experience when I had a lot of money piling up so the price didn't seem quite so bad at the time. Although I wish I didn't have to spend a such huge chunk of it.
I then used it at a reduced power level for the final Championship which ended up a much better alternative than using a Gr. 3. I actually didn't mind the handling, can't say I specifically felt the understeer problem but then I haven't played much of the game since and haven't really tried out any of the top tier prototypes so didn't have those to compare it to. I actually preferred it to the GT500s, I've never been a huge fan of how they feel, although it's definitely not 13x better as the price suggests.

When I bought GT7 this was my 2nd must buy car (right after 911 GT1 Strassenversion) & it was no disappointment - joy to drive, good performance & handling + great feeling/looks of the best era of Le Mans history. Insta-buy this1.
It has always been a favourite of mine. Maybe it simply complimented my lack of skill level (covered it up). Example the McLaren 650s gives me good test track times but I simply do not like the driving it. I will buy the CLK, if only to complete my line up and hopefully use it. A nostalgic moment.
To echo my thoughts on your last vid I like this car enough to spend the deep pockets on it. But it would be awesome if we got the Panoz Esperante GTR-1 next. Gran turismo just needs to give us the LMP 1 roadster.

I got 7 dream cars left to get.The 5 80s Nissan Mazda Porsche 962c sauber Jaguar and a Shelby cobra66 and 55 spyder Porsche.
PD has to fix the legendary car prices (as well as other things). I respect the auto brands history reflecing Hagerty’s real world prices, but at the end of the day...it’s still a video game and we should all be able to drive all the cars we can’t in the real world. Just not at that “virtual credits” price tag.

Gt7 is missing on soo much ! So many new cars are not there. Many iconic legends are missing. Long term playability missing.
This is supposed to be a pretty good car to use to grind Sardines.
I have the same roll over understeer with the Lambo V12 Vision GT
Haggarty seems to restrict GT7 in an enjoyment aspect like the FIA restricted GT Sport, but makes it way too hard to access every car instead of a deep focus on competitive online racing

I thought these cars were not very successful; that's when I only looked at leMans cars' performances at leMans *only. Afterwards, I had to revise a bit my views... this is the car that killed GT1. GT1 which gave (look-wise) the most extreme (and unparalleled to this day) metamorphosis of street cars. Just the fact that most of those GT1 cars were complete revisions of some street cars (in model and proportions) is something in itself. They are not base models with tacked-on aero which make them look more like rally cars (though my favourites), they are something else altogether.

Was there a GTR earlier at the Haggarty store? That was like 2.5 M? and I missed it, had just bought the game at the time. Was really hoping to get a generic set up as well, I liked the car stock but not as much as the Gr.2 Nissans tbh.
I am saving up for the Toyota gt one (when it gets added to the game) but might have a very long wait at this rate, I might have to bite the bullet on the clk or sauber🤷🏼♂️🤔

At that price tag there are other cars that deserve also a chance.
If it was perfect in handling i would have considered it.

More successful groub c cars? Well there isnt really a more successful GT1 car than the CLK LM, it won every single race in FIA GT 1998. At Lemans both cars retired (and no they didnt fly...) with oil pump issues but the version in GT games is the high downforce sprint version used in FIA GT.
