I miss the 80s ❤️
i miss a lot of lost opportunities and miss not knowing how to avoid making mistakes back then.
We all do but you carry it with you ✌️
@@dampergoldenrod4156 I know what you mean wish we can start over again with what we know how
Legend has it, Nathan Jones still hasn't returned. I heard a rumour, Robert Di Nero had been waiting for him too
Very clever comment 👍🏼
Robert Di Nero was Kissing Valentino by a crystal blue Italian Stream.
Brill..
Nathan Jones managed Luton Town FC from Jan 2016 - Jan 2019.
He signed again for Luton in May 2020.
That's right
I remember hearing this song on the radio back in late 1988 in Orlando, Florida. Thanks for the memories. I wanna go back to the 1980s. Who's with me?
Jose Figueroa Jr. Same. Let's go!😊
Lx Beltran Sure thing. Shall we build a bitching time machine?
Be With you😀
This song appears in Rain Man oddly enough, when Raymond is rocking back and forth in Charlies loungeroom to music it's this playing on the stereo as Charlie watches him. Why they picked this song isn't totally clear but maybe cos its a parallel of how Raymond just vanished without saying bye cos he's autistic and how Charlie should take him home.
I'm with you on that
GODDESSES Bananarama ♥️♥️♥️
What a great tune. Just want to dance. Thanks for uploading
Blast from the past 1987 who's here 2024
how I love this video and how beautiful they look bananarama forever.
REVISIT 1971, THE SUPREMES HIT!! THE ORIGINAL! 💋
Even if I was born in 2011, this still makes me wanna go back to the 80s
Nine year olds stanning bananarama I know dats right
Have been thinking past few days that if I could go back to any decade it would be the 80s (I was 11 in 1989)
I was just born, and I'm already a Banananana fan.
@@Caroline-bg6fn I was 10 in 1989 :)
I was lucky I was there and young and the 70s vagile remember the 60s as well it was great 70s and 80a the 90s was OK but it was beginning to lean towards the bull shits of today, you got Meggie Thatcher to thank for how shit it is today but at the time nobody would Liston
The underrated song ever created
How did I miss this?!? Amazing re-recording!
Jackuie is a beautiful lady still to this day absolutely stunning
Take me back to 1987 when I was just 13. Loved this tune and them, rebellious
We were a very lucky generation to have lived such times as school kids IMO.
I was 23!😊
I was 32 🤭.
And I still loved the music!
In fact, I'd been in love with rock, pop, and whatever else since the late 50s...I know, I started young 😉.
Thank you
The 1980s was a excellent decade for music and film's
60s and 70s too
This guy sounds pretty cool.
ikr
The most beautiful song of Bananarama!!!!
0:29 1:09 2:28 Jacquie's beautiful smile in this video
He is back and do we like that! ⚽️🎩
Bananarama are Amazing, beautiful singers and 100% true stunners , absolutely love them all .
bananarama are so amazing
I bet Nathan jones has heard this song non stop
As an IRL Nathan Jones I'd like to express empathy with all other Nathan Joneses who might be reading and have had to put up with occasionally being told they have been gone too long.
this song is a real hit
Fantastic song!I love it.
I loved this version they gave different approach .
They pull off the Suprimes brilliantly
Fanstastic song!I,m shanking of myself through those sounds....
Listening since 1989...
バナナラマ最高😃⤴️⤴️
This version of the song was in the movie "Rain Man" with Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman..
That's where I heard this version, but I remember the original from my college years.
What's weird is that I had this sountrack on cassette, played it constantly, but don't remember this song at all.
I remember that, Raymond he was kind off dancing to it whilst holding a watchman tv where it was being played from
I have the "Rain Man" soundtrack on vinyl, and it doesn't include this version, but the "Wow!" album version, much better than this.
I love this song
Welcome to Southampton
Charlton now
Just realised how vaporwave this video is with all the statues Greek columns and fruit, blue pink neon skies
Korg SG-1D doing piano duties here? The M1 hadn't been released when the album came out but it used an edited version of the SG-1D piano. World's first use of the legendary piano sound on this track?
Keren is a dead ringer for Isabella Rossellini here. Stunning
If you're talking about the brunette doll with the short bob - You're right!
I so had the hots for her in the 80s, that short bob looked so sexy on her ....
@@k.hendrickson8735 you both need glasses
Still Brilliant!💝
Class act from the hit factory.
Great cover version...
I DIG THIS VERSION ABD THE ORIGINAL VERSION WHAT A SUPER COOL SONG !!!
Yes. I have also sorted by recent for the comments.
As always loved this!
I like the original Supremes version and this one too. They are both very different: this is typical late 1980s Brit-pop dance music by legendary producers Stock, Aitken and Waterman. The music video is highly creative and the girls are vogueing years before Madonna.
To me, this, while sounding good, totally misses the message of heartbreak, despair, and overcoming that the song is about. As usual, sensationalism takes center stage on this version…
@@lfbeam I totally agree that the original has much more soul whilst this version has been processed through the SAW pop production factory and come out as a dance number. But imo there is room for both versions 😊
@@lfbeam Many pop songs, especially British ones, set sad lyrics to upbeat tunes to create a musical counterpoint. I read once it dates back to a theatrical tradition (can't think of the proper term at the moment).
Over the past few decades, there has been a shift in transforming dance pop songs from a victim sentiment into anthems about overcoming adversity (like Cher's "Believe").
Hardly Years before Madonna. This was released Nov '89. Vogue was released just 5 months later. One of Bananaramas' worst S.A.W songs.
@@craiggie1628 that’s true and I can’t remember the technical term either (“irony” maybe?) It’s not just Brit songs. The best example of this technique that I can think of is American: “Stoney End”, written by Laura Nyro, most famously sung by Barbra Streisand, a song with an upbeat melody but extremely depressing lyrics (worth a listen because the arrangement is so good and, of course, Streisand’s voice is superlative)…
Love original version by The Supremes (1971) and later versions by the Former Ladies of the Supremes (The Flos) and Bananarama.
The opening number in Bananarama's current tour!
Wow, they have a current tour 😮?
Love the song but who is nathen Jones
Manager of Southampton
I always thought it was an interesting choice since the original by the Supremes was their release after Diana Ross left and this version was after Siobhan left.
Bear Aspirin well Siobhan did record a version of this song for the Wow album. This is just the re-recorded version with Jacquie.
2019 n m still listening to my favorite 80s band
I love this song Susan

Wow very sweet 👍🌹👍🌹👍🌹💕💕💕💕💕
Great cover
The Nana's vogueing before Madonna?!!... say it ain't so :) Great song, fun video
EXCELENTE GRUPO OCHENTERO. 😍😍😍😍
..The 'Nana's 'touch up' their 5th top ten HIT, from "WOW"!! ...here, they did a 7" 'single remix' with new Vocals & production, featuring Jacquie, and debuting softer, highlighted Hairstyles; Keren's 'bob was the BEST 'do she had at the time, and Jacquie is more relaxed in her placing with the group (at the time)....time has passed, and Jacq's time with the Group SHOULD be respected, by now, who's WITH ME!???
Yes totally agree 💯
Yep she was the perfect addition. I think people look back now and really see it.
This may be way off track but could this song be about a soldier who hasn't returned from the war at all? I noticed poppies continually appear through the video in the flowers, just a thought.
My cure for earworms! 🐛 🌹⭐️❤️ But seriously in my top 5 Bananarama songs.
Bonita canción de Bananarama. La coreografia es fantástica y divertida con los bailarines y las componentes del grupo.Genial.
Suena como soft (1987) desconocía que existía esos sonidos modernos.
I grew up listening to bananarama in my mum's car she constantly played it on tape lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's a good momma!
This really is a great track.
No it isn’t
The Supremes did it better!
@@kevinlongman007 much better.
@@nathankail6428 yes it is.
What a great hook.
Nathan Jones you don't win too much
nice fun and bubbly song, i like it
Can’t wait for Southampton FC ⚽️ to adopt and adapt this for their new manager 😁
We're on it...
@@TheRedStripez "Nathan Jones, you'll be gone before long....."
Nathan Jones out
one of my favourites!!
Why?
I don't know why I love 80s music so much. It has a certain je ne sais qua (I don't know what).
"je ne sais quoi" ;-)
Pretty good song
To Nathan if you're ever lost someday when I'm gone I love you see you later in heaven son love mum xxxx
Knockout trio 🤩
No group could ever top the Supremes version which is light years away from this version ...
I agree but I think that they never intended to. This is a fantastic cover and is ultimately paying respects to post Ross supremes who deserve it way more than they ever got
Very good i love is song
The first 2 bars recall "Hard to Handle" by Otis Redding. There the similarity ends! I'd rather listen to this.
You packed your bags as I recall
And you walked slowly down the hall
You said you had to get away to ease your mind
And all you needed was a just little of time
Oh winter's passed, spring and fall
You never wrote me, you never called
Nathan Jones you've been gone too long
Gone too long...
If a woman could die of tears
Nathan Jones, well, I wouldn't be here
The key that you're holding won't fit my door
And there's no room in my heart for you no more
'Cause, winter's passed, spring and fall
you never wrote me, you never called
Nathan Jones you've been gone too long
Gone too long
Nathan Jones, Nathan Jones...
Nathan Jones, ooh..
Winter's passed, spring and fall
You never wrote me, you never called
Nathan Jones you've been gone too long
Gone too long
Nathan Jones you've been gone too long
...gone too long
Nathan Jones you've been gone too long
...gone too long
Nathan jones you've been gonne too long
... gone too long...
ty used it
Another 80s hatchet job on a stone cold soul classic.
Keren was my first music crush. 30 years on she still is.
Love it 😁
Great video
Luton fans
Don`t know Rob Edwards is doing ok.
The Supremes did the original i belive..but who is Nathan Jones??!!

These boys look a little young for our girls! Good dancers though 🕺 💃
SIOBHAN sang this on Wow. Was Jacquie's voice "over-dubbed" in?🧐
NATHAN JONES RED ARMY 🔴⚪️⚽️🗡️
Yes mate love it
Heard on Rainman
Brutal.
The Psycho Mix of this song is far better than the original recording.
It's weird because the original 70s version came on the radio the other day, and even though I'd never heard it before, it still seemed familiar.
So I Googled it, and it seems, it must be this version I remember. I was a little kid in 89 and it must have been lurking somewhere in the back of my subconscious memory
The original is from 1984
Richard Wernsing
The original was released in 1971. Where did you get 1984 from?
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nathan_Jones_(song)
Yet another song I didn't realise was a cover, off I go music hunting again....
Original sung by the Supremes after Diana left the group.
I like both versions they're both good
Cut Nathan Jones some slack. He's been busy making action movies.
Thanks Siobhan Fahey.
Martin Gahan what are you talking about?
Its siobhans voice on this track
But on this version of the song Jackie is singing not Siobhan. Siobhan sang the song on the WOW's version.
Jacquies version is better more pop.
so did i...but they have reuinited!
Jacquie was The perfection on This video
Jacquie is not in this video.... she left in 1992
Lol this vídeo was recorded in 1988 :)
One can barely see her. Woodward and Dallin were bitches to give her like 3 seconds of screen time. If Banarama would have been Charlies Angels, Jacquie would have been their Shelley Hack.
サラかっこいい!
I love the ladies the best girl band in world Sara and Kelen are beautiful ladies and the the song is a is great song X X X X X X
Great
Ayyyy song named after me
Nathan Jones yoo same
@@njonesyauto Which one of you manages the mighty Hatters though? COYH
Nathan Jones where have you been ???
I just listened to the Supremes and this version is so much better!
Please tell me you’re joking.
I love that Ray is dancing to this
I believe Texas took a closer look at this song while creating „Mr. Haze“
❤
The prototype was a hit for SUPREMES, back in 1971. If someone , hasn't here it in prototype, it's a pitty.
The usual 'talk singing' by Banaramarama
