I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.

About the dancers, he picked them. They're with him since mmmh and they're officially called "team Kai"
and they are just not mere dancers, they are also choreographers, no wonder they can keep up with kai's level of dancing! and they adore kai so much especially jrickbaek-one of the rover choreographers. #teamkai is the best!

Kai's body control, the fluidity and agility of his movements never fail to amaze me!
I don't think I'll ever get bored of watching Kai dance. Sinner is my favourite. I thought the desolation of the black sand was perfect, until I saw the opening here with a reflection. The look in his eyes staring at himself is everything.

He and Mihawk auditioned dancers for first album but from Peaches onwards he chose choreographers and dance instructors as Kai Team.

I've always said Kai protects us without us realizing it. In Tempo with the Bucket Hat he saved us from having a stroke by shielding his face... cause the reveal at the end when he takes it off is triggering. Imagine those moves with full facial expressions, we wouldn't live. Same goes for Bomba and the Safari Hat... he wants us to focus on just the movements cause if he gave the full package live we wouldn't make it. Large doses... so he can keep us alive for the Maximum.
Fun fact he actually held an audition for the dancer (with Mihawkback) for his 1st solo album "Kai".
Then some of them still continue with him till now, that's why they (the dancers) called TeamKai.
They named it themselves.

I know you said this is your longest video or one of them, but here I am watching your reaction again lol Rover era was so short that I am re-watching content related to it. I also wish for a fixed camera , but considering how they recorded this with an iphone and a normal camera handled just by Kai and the dancers themselves (plus, one of the people from team kai using the phone flash for lightning), I can't complain. Now that I watched the behind the scenes of film: kai rover dances practices, I love his film even more, I feel that we can see even more details there. For example, the vibration he does with his legs during Black mirror when he makes that "ugh" sound (part of it is visible on the film and dance practice, but they mostly zoom in his upper body, so we cannot see it on its fullest) or how he changed the transition in Sinner. Also, thanks to the choreographer's draft version of his songs uploaded on smpfloor, we can see how the original choreo of Sinner doesn't have the turn Kai does when the dancers "fly" in the air and how Kai wasn't supposed to do the "fitness"/running move, which means those things were probably discussed and added with Kai. I love to know those details and to see parts of the process in maikng such performances. That's also why I like your reactions, because you like to disect every step. At the end of the day, Kai is art and he never disappoints with his work, so his performances deserve this kind of analysis and appreciation

I really can't find words to describe how proud I am of Kim Jongin. I've been his fan since pre debut so to see Kai in 2023 doing ART makes me so emotional.
Love hearing you break down the choreo as always! I like the dance practice but you can tell he's a bit tired - it was filmed on sunday after he'd both performed on and been the guest mc for inkigayo (not to mention the 3 days of performances before that)

You're absolutely right with camera didn't translate real dancing skills. In real life Kai looks so stunning. You 100% will blow by his stage presence and charisma. His dancing really on another level. I've seen many idols but he's just different
Kai knows how to take advantage of every part of his body and I love that, he really tries new types of music and genres and I feel that when you listen to everything you don't get bored because no sound is repeated, blue is nothing like any Rover song and slidin does not enter Kai or amnesia, or hello stranger, just as I can't imagine to be honest on this album

i love that you picked up on how black mirror is suited for street man fighter because one of the choreographers for black mirror was on the show as part of the YGX team. even some of his back up dancers were on the show too
I love Sinner. Did u see how his dancers were like suspended in the air at the beginning?😮 Black Mirror has to do with the effects of technology or social media or something to that effect. Slidin with a book represents Jongin spending his time reading at the library since he's an introvert. He's a bookworm actually.
