I remember when i saw some reactors who did not even do much Exo reactions and seeing these films they said "Naaahhhh this is not kpop, this is something else" and one japanese said "South korea is too small stage for an artist like Kai" and he was officilly called 'Asia's first love' In japan. I found Exo through solo stuffs of dofferent members. And I was shocked to see Kai. This dude is a walking ART. He is so expressive, Graceful and powerful dancer that i had never seen in kpop. I just cant focus on anything when he is on the screen. Thats how powerful his aura is. (A walking sex appeal title wont be wrong for him)

Kai's "Film: Kai," as you discovered, is a sort of teaser/sample of all the songs on Kai's solo self-titled debut album Kai, which came out at the end of 2020. (Yes, Kai's Peaches album also has a video like these that is a sample of all his songs on his Peaches album, it's called "Peaches Prologue Film." It doesn't have a ton of crazy choreography, but it was shot like an art film, just like all his other film videos.) Fun fact: Highlight medleys for SM artist's solo albums first became a thing with Taemin's "Press It highlight melody" video in 2016, which was a video showing Taemin performing a snippet of every song on his Press It album. (Like everything SHINee does, Taemin was the first to promote his album giving people a sample of every song on the album, kicking off a trend.) You could also say it's similar to NCT's track videos that they have been releasing with their albums more recently. Kai had a hand in writing and composing all of these songs and he spent more than a year working on his solo debut Kai album, which he did all while also promoting nonstop as a member of EXO and SuperM. They are essentially mini-MVs to set the mood for every song. He also wanted to make a one for his 2nd album, Peaches, but unfortunately he was too busy at that time; plus I imagine it would have been difficult to make such a complex film in 2021 (that requires multiple sets & extras/dancers) so soon after the whole pandemic/lockdown situation. However, he *did* release a video called "KAI 카이 'Peaches' Prologue Film" instead to represent that 2nd album. Since he was unable to make a video to showcase each song off of the "Peaches" album, he made a short clip to highlight & visualize one song, namely "Vanilla". I highly recommend you all to check that out please. It's short but worth watching and actually showed up during your search. So, to sum up, KAI released FILM:KAI for his 1st mini-album (2020), a Vanilla Prologue for the 2nd one (2021) & FILM:KAI #Rover for the 3rd mini-album (2023). Also, your assumption of SM putting a lot of budget into KAI is very wrong. SM often seems to do the bare minimum when it comes to their artists unfortunately from what I hear. *KAI* is the one who increased the budget for his albums. He clearly stated that he personally invested his own money into his projects like these FILMs, especially for his 1st mini-album, as what SM provided was not enough for what he wanted portrayed. KAI was a huge influence on how his MVs and FILMs came out; he provided his own ideas & artistic influence about how he wanted every aspect to be - including the story-telling, sets, his dancers, fashion/clothing & even the editing. He even had the Peaches MV edited multiple times (I don't recall the exact number now, but it was over 10 times). You will also notice a lot of Gucci clothing/items in KAI's things as he is their global brand ambassador. KAI is a perfectionist who cares about every single aspect of the art he creates. He had a specific vision for his solo debut (& subsequent albums) and got the people around him to help bring it to life, even if he had to finance it himself. The last thing I'll mention is this: KAI hand-picked all his dancers before his solo debut. He and their EXO choreographer friend held auditions for his back-up dancers in all his MVs & stage/concert performances. The dancers he picked to support him are all either well-respected choreographers or professional dancers in their own right (like Bada Lee for example. She was in his FILM:KAI, is often in his stage/concert performances as a backup dancer and has even helped choreograph some of KAI's routines. The same is true for some other dancers). There is huge respect between KAI and his fellow dancers and it's great fun to see how much they enjoy dancing/performing together. Anyway, I think this is more than long enough. I love these films. The three albums are so good. I can't pick a favorite because the songs are all amazing. I also loved the Peaches MV. Loved the traditional play motif used for the sets and costumes was beautiful as was his voice. Kai actually performed several of the songs from the first and second albums at the Hallyu Pop Fest in Sydney and London 2022. He usually does a set of 6 songs. Thanks for reacting to these films.
You guys should definitely check out the full dance practice for Reason and Peaches and his other solo work. He has a dance practice for all the choreo on the Rover Film peices. It's truly amazing. Each song is not just audio or dance or aesthetics to Kai- it is a full performance and film experience. He has such vision. x
KAI did several concerts and was planning to do his latest series of concerts with Rover album but was called to mandatory service. Looking forward to 2025 when he finishes mandatory service. KAI is an artist

Peaches was his 2nd mini album and because he didn't have enough time he only did a small snippet of one track(Vanilla) of it called KAI PEACHES: THE PROLOGUE. when you guys were scrolling looking for the 2nd one the video was shown on the list at the bottom at 8:50 .

Kai used every bit of his own connections to get things ready for his debut. The film, photoshoots, etc. the photographers, directors. Those were from fashion industry and people he got close to over the years.

Film: Kai consists of teasers for each song in one (mini) album. Unfortunately, Film: Kai for the second album (Peaches) is not available, due to tight production time. From his three albums, not only as a great dancer, but the quality of Kai's voice is also very visible and developed, especially with the choice of songs that really match with his vocal range. The first Film: Kai is really artistic (art needs Kai 😅), even though Peaches doesn't have it, but the MV is really beautiful with a comfortable color selection. Peaches's dance practice is also very sophisticated. Thanks me later, it's not a loss to buy or at least listen to Kai's entire albums. 16:37: And hell no 🙄 SM didnt do anything about Film: Kai. KAI is a perfectionist who cares about every single aspect of the art he creates. He had a specific vision for his solo debut (& subsequent albums) and got the people around him to help bring it to life, even if he had to finance it himself. The last thing I'll mention is this: KAI hand-picked all his dancers before his solo debut. He and their EXO choreographer friend held auditions for his back-up dancers in all his MVs & stage/concert performances. The dancers he picked to support him are all either well-respected choreographers or professional dancers in their own right (like Bada Lee for example. She was in his FILM:KAI, is often in his stage/concert performances as a backup dancer and has even helped choreograph some of KAI's routines. The same is true for some other dancers). There is huge respect between KAI and his fellow dancers and it's great fun to see how much they enjoy dancing/performing together.

I love these films. The three albums are so good. I can't pick a favorite because the songs are all amazing. I also loved the Peaches MV. Loved the traditional play motif used for the sets and costumes was beautiful as was his voice. Kai actually performed several of the songs from the first and second albums at the Hallyu Pop Fest in Sydney and London 2022. He usually does a set of 6 songs. Thanks for reacting to these films.

You guys should definitely check out the full dance practice for Reason and Peaches and his other solo work. He has a dance practice for all the choreo on the Rover Film peices. It's truly amazing.

Peaches was his 2nd mini album and because he didn't have enough time he only did a small snippet of one track(Vanilla) of it called KAI PEACHES: THE PROLOGUE. when you guys were scrolling looking for the 2nd one the video was shown on the list at the bottom at 8:50 .

Kai used every bit of his own connections to get things ready for his debut. The film, photoshoots, etc. the photographers, directors. Those were from fashion industry and people he got close to over the years.
It wasn’t SM that spent money on these but Kai, Same with Lay's stuff when he was still in SM, they just profited of him while it was him who inverted money on his mvs and content

Film: Kai consists of teasers for each song in one (mini) album. Unfortunately, Film: Kai for the second album (Peaches) is not available, due to tight production time.
From his three albums, not only as a great dancer, but the quality of Kai's voice is also very visible and developed, especially with the choice of songs that really match with his vocal range.
The first Film: Kai is really artistic (art needs Kai 😅), even though Peaches doesn't have it, but the MV is really beautiful with a comfortable color selection. Peaches's dance practice is also very sophisticated. Thanks me later, it's not a loss to buy or at least listen to Kai's entire albums.
