I have one and love it ...never had any mechanical issues ..usual wear . tires , starter , brake and belts where changed.. one of my top 3 favorites ever !!

My father's es300 get only 59000 miles on it but had some issues and we fixed a couple times.

It sounds like the 3.3L that was offered after 2002, since the 3.0L was a 1 year carryover from the outgoing model. But I don't care lol; both are excellent engines.

I just bough the same car with 84K miles. For a peace of mind, I had the timing belt/water pump, brakes and all fluids replaced. Car runs so smooth and very quiet. I wished it has some storage space at the center console, and suspension just a tad stiffer. Only thing that I found wrong with this 19 yr old car is the CD player with Error 03. The rest is perfect. I also have a BMW 335i, but it seems like to take the key of the Lexus more often than the BMW. I know the Lexus will take me places reliably, and the BMW stranded me two times already...DO NOT buy used BMW vehicles guys...just a money pit. Note: The reason I got this car because I do not trust the BMW for any distance more than 50 miles away from home. So unreliable!

I'd buy this as an extra car
My mother has this car and she's willing to let me have it. It has only 88,000 miles on it, but I drive a 2011 Mazda 3, 2.5 Liter with 81,000 miles on it. Not sure if I should sell mine and take hers or sell hers and keep mine. My car is easier to park and maneuver, but hers is more comfortable and probably better built. Everyone tells her, her car is very well made.
i would just sell off the mazda as this lexus es300 is easy to maintain and runs forever with proper maintenance.
Definetly get the Lexus. No question if you like comfort and a georgeous interior. The new lexus interiors aren't made as good as these old ones. I have an 04 es and can attest to that.

The Canadian TV show Canada’s Worst Driver actually used an ES - a fourth-gen XV30 like this one - for the water tank challenge in Season 14. It looked like it was a 2001-2003 pre-facelift model under all that foam.

The 2002 ES 300 is identical
There are 3 round windows on the board. When you turn on the engine the indicator it moves, also it shows the red sign for the seat-belt, and it has divisions from 0-8. There are also subdivisions from 0-6. After #6 my car shows RED subdivisions from 6-8. What does this mean? Is this a signal that is something wrong?
When I'm Inside I Dont Smell. Didn't Excersise or Aerobics. Inside Means Inside.

I still drive a lexus ES300 1999 with 306000+ miles on it. I runs smooth and fine, without any troubles that break the bank. But getting one, go to your mechanic and get the engine and transmission and other expensive stuff checked out, cuz not everyone drives a car like a human
The ES300 Is A Non Interference Eng,Meaning if T.Belt Breaks, There is Usually NO Eng.Damage,Just Have It Towed To Ur Mech.,Repl.the Water Pump,T.Belt & Tesioner ,If Needed & Ur Good to Go. the ES 330,Like I Have ,IS An Interference Eng.So Keep Acct. of Ur Miles ON TIME, & Repl. It,As When Timing Belt Breaks,Ur Eng.is Toast & Usually Destroyed.
These are good for 480,000
Miles just change the oil every 3000 miles even if its full synthetic ..

Im wondering if this is worth buying now. I found a 01 Toyota Windom ( here in NZ its the exact same car but different badge ) for $3000usd is this worth the price? only 95000 miles
I bought one in June, here in Australia, from old mechanic grand dad without logbooks. changed starter motor only. changed oil 2 times as I drove a lot, every time mechanic asks 'how long did you had this car for? still looks brand new', smoothest ride, going to buy 2021 nx200 and compare ride quality after these lockdowns.
@@sudarshan081 I did not buy that car. I bought another ES300 i was looking at. It is a 2002 and got it for $1800. It needed work but I was ok with that for the price and spent a pretty penny getting it perfect.
