I'm proud of Mika on how she turned out, most siblings that are favorited by there parents ether become snobby or think there better than everyone. But not Mika, she knew what her parents were doing was wrong and didn't let it destroy her relationship with her brother.

There's also the flip side on how aware children are that they are being pressured to succeed and become angry that they can't do the things they want to do because "mom and dad" want them only to focus on success. Mika thankfully landed on this side.

I learned in a class on university teaching that true geniuses are like Mika. They aren’t bothered by other people’s foibles etc.

I hate parents who play favorites and attempt to pit siblings against one another.

A “golden child” that actually isn’t spoiled and bit her parents hard for mistreating her brother? What a rarity!

Glad to know that in this story, the "golden child" isn't a spoiled brat and actually taught their selfish parents a lesson for mistreating their sibling and for using them like a potential money sink

See, That's what's wrong with toxic parents today. Once you abandoned your kids like that; therefore, You never gonna see them again. That's heartless, dishonorable, disrespectful, and unacceptable. How could they kicked their son out to the curb for no reason at all. This is child abuse, child abandonment, and most of all anxiety and depression.

The irony of raising a genius daughter is how that they valued her talents which she used against them.

Probably due to various reasons like their limited knowledge on what kind of jobs his areas of expertise include as the things he Excels in don't seem "practical" to them. Compared to Mika who is great in math and stuff that would probably get her in one of the more well known and respected occupations.

      1- favoritism
      2- selfishness
      3- greed
      4- Narcissism
      5- spite
They never loved either of their kids and only saw them as tools to make themselves look good in front of a nonexistent society.

There are multiple types of genius.
The brother is a polyglot genius he learned what six languages written and spoken.
His sister was a math science genius
    Both are awesome.
If there had been a third sibling maybe a sports genius.
    The parents are idiots

My daughter was extremely smart (but not a genius) and skipped high school to go to college. But there was a boy in the same program who WAS a genius. His parents did a good job raising him, basically following his lead in his own education, except they made sure he had breaks to do normal kid stuff like sports, etc.... He became a teacher's assistant, for the upper level math courses in college, when he was 16 and by the time he was 18 he already had his masters. Sort of hard to talk to, but a very nice kid.
I'm glad Mika had a very good older brother!

Maybe Mika became a "prodigy" by learning from her brother? Even though he wasn't directly involved? Perhaps the parents didn't realize that until it was too late.

      @girl1213 ปีที่แล้ว +4

These are the type of parents who don't even notice that they probably make Mika feel bad about her talents. It's amazing how she was able to do what she did so young, but Mika is a kid first and foremost. Kids want to have fun, but parents like hers take all the fun out of their kids' lives because they want to benefit from the talent.
