I have Lowrance HDS and love it.My buddy heard all the GREAT thing about the new garmin so he bought one and replaced his Lowrance. After 3 months, he put his Lowrance back on but does use the garmin for mapping. Really dont see any difference in the mapping on both units. Guess its whatever one likes. I'l stick with Lowrance!
Betcha can't say the same thing now?! Garmin is now using full downscan ,but garmin is also whooping the pants off of livesight. Lowrance and johnson set back, resting on their laurels and Garmin came in and stole the show from them. And before the lawsuite, garmin WAS using downvu, which was a down facing element. Garmin was get to me from the beginning, but i am even more a happy garmin user. Lowrance on the other hand disapponted men with their software and interface... I bought an elite ti eariler in the year but i am glad i returned it and went all in with garmin.

@@OrcaAngler my garmin 73CV UHD is nuts. You wouldn't believe the clarity it has. It is wayyyy better than my humminbird helix 7 even after messing with the settings. Most of the time I have to guess with the humminbird and go back over it with my garmin to see the fine detail. You are missing half of what is down there with my humminbird. And the panoptix is crazy good. I've only used it once on a friend's boat but I loved it. We found a school of spotted bass on the graph in open water. Pulled off a little and you could see them swimming 60 feet from us. It sure won't be long before I replace my Helix with a garmin SV
Hi. I have a Elite ti2. I mainly use the downscan for finding 100ft wrecks and structures to dive and drop a shot line on. The wrecks just show as spikes with no detail. Can you do a video on how to have my downscan set up?

I have 2 of the Garmin echo map 93sv units(the larger Garmin then shown in this video, but same transducer) and I'll agree, it's down imaging and side imaging are garbage. One advantage Garmin does have is it's maps and GPS are superior in my opinion. Chirp sonar is about the same but I will disclaim I have never seen a side by side of the sonars going over the same fish. My previous hummingbird 999 had much better side imaging then the Garmin and the Lowerance side imaging is even better. I'm now thinking about adding a Lowerance just for the down imaging and using my Garmin only for the maps and gps.

Where dig u get the fixture that u have the transducers mounted too? I have a tiller steer and no enough room between motor and the transom. That set up is exactly what i need.
none of brands work in salt water most of the times because the echo in salt and fresh water is different and when you get a echo that goes through fresh water then salt in a second with different temp and density and boat goes up and down because of waves you get overwhelmed cpu. only old fashion 200 2d works .. I see good picture in fresh water, i also good see good picture on down scan if there is calm water in salt
as much as i hate lowrance i will say this,,,, this is why there are different water settings on lowrance as to stop salt ping... dont buy the hook, the elite is way better

I recently purchased my first ever bass boat tracker and the boat came with lowrance hook 2 with triple shot units. my question is when we see fish on the units where are should we be casting towards? I have a unit in front of the boat and one at the cockpit. any help would be greatly appreciated. Great video by the way.
You promise that you have all the same sensitivity settings on there? Is it possible to adjust the sensitivity of the GARMIN up so that it shows the same? If this is possible but you're not showing it, then the video is worthless because the GARMIN might be able to do the same thing, but with different settings. You're not showing us that. You're just saying when set up identically, the Lowrance is better. That doesn't matter if under some different settings the Garmin could do the same thing.
Jarod Morris the Lowrance needs no adjustment.Put it in Automatic Mode and you will see just what you saw in this video.Not so with other units so why buy a unit that needs constant adjustments when you could be catching those fish that the Lowrance will be showing you? Make it cheaper or it’s not worth it, your entry level downscan is $100 more than the cheapest garmin clearvu that has a split screen so you can see the standard and clearvu, thus finding fish and seeing structure @ the same time. Love the tech but 3 years later still to pricey.
I have the same Garmin unit with the CV52 transducer that Garmin calls Clearvu. The GT52 transducer prior to the lawsuit has the down element. The CV52 does not have down element and is worthless and not worth the money. The bad thing about it is that Garmin has been lying to their costumers about their clearvu. Just until recent that they start saying that the CV52 doe not have the down element. I Paid almost $800 in Feburary of 2017 for the Garmin unit and only able to use the CHIRP and maps. The sidevu is not that great either. Contact Garmin couple of times but Garmin is unwelling to make this right for their costumers.
Settings seem a little off on the Garmin 🤣. Put them on same settings and same color. This is not a realistic comparison bc of these things. Anyone with experience with finders knows the color difference can change what you see 🤦♂️
Not really, the fact is on the cv transducers there is no dedicated down scan element. Garmin was sneaky about it and got caught lying and that pissed off a bunch of people. It is what it is. I guess the gt transducers do have a true down scan or view, whatever you want to call it, so the problem has been fixed.
I found out that Garmin's down image was crap, I marked a rock ledge off to side of the boat on side image and nothing on the down image,I learned the hard way by hitting a rock with my motor screwing up my prop, I'm changing brands and going with a company that has a true down image,Garmin's just lost another customer

Lowrance brand is rubbish and their after care service is terrible. I’ve owned 3 and all 3 got wet inside whilst Jetski fishing. My next buy will be a Garmin and I’m going to do my own review video

2 years later Garmin is KILLING IT with livescope and lowrance is not even a close 2nd
