  • In this video I give a summary and overview of the Impact Monitors. In my searching I didn’t find very many videos on this specific model so here it is. They have great sound, an amazing look with deep bass. In the end these did replace my tritons for my daily listening. Until I swapped out with my Triton one.r’s. But nonetheless the tekton speakers are fantastic and they make speakers for several different budgets. These are one of my new favorite speakers

    At this price point, I’d be very interested in the Electron vs the Impact or Pendragon monitor

      Nice. I have the Wharfedale Evo4 bookshelf, I like these better as well. My tekton’s were modified for the better crossover to help stop the beaming of the tweeter. I wish I could have heard them before just to compare. Thanks for watching and commenting

      How do you like the beryllium tweeters? I'm thinking of taking the plunge on a pair of Moabs. Do you feel like they are a natural upgrade, or do you notice any change in voicing or excessive brightness? I know you probably won't have heard regular ones to compare, but there is very little info floating around on these. Any input would be welcome.

      @@zackw4941 Its very hard to say. I would not say that the BE tweeters were overly bright or fatiguing. They sounded fantastic. I sold the Monitors and now I own the Enzo 2.7s. With these, I have a very clear/revealing/detailed top end, even without the BE tweeters and especially when I compared them to the Wharfedales. I wasn't able to compare the two Tekton models back to back however so its hard to say how much of a difference there was with and without. I would recommend that you ask Eric directly or consult the Facebook group for tekton owners.

      @@user-bj9ln4em6n Do you think it's fair to say that the bottom line for you, is that you don't seem to miss the BE tweeters? I know the Monitor and Enzo are different animals, but they do at least seem to have the same hi/mid array :)
      Thanks for the input! I will seek out the Facebook group! I did also reach out to Tekton directly and it's pretty much the expected answer. BE has a little bit more detail. They try to voice them the same but they may seem bright to some people.

      @@zackw4941 Correct. I don't seem to miss them. Also worth noting is that I've pretty much given up chasing the magic audio dragon. as you mentioned that these tekton monitors are 4ohm's, how do I know which suits my amplifiers best specs 215w 8ohm 400w 4ohm

    • @Audiolympian
      @Audiolympian  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That amp should be plenty. In a quick explanation of difference between 4ohm and 8ohm speakers the 4 ohm speaker can get louder without distorting. Some other things too but that’s a quick reference. But because of that 4ohm speakers usually are gonna need some good power to make them sound good. 8 ohm speakers can sound good with 100-150 watts and at lower volumes but can distort when pushed hard. So if your amp is triple digits of watts in 4ohm you should be good. Plus it depends on your amps voltage. But at 200 watts in 8ohms I’d go for that, it’s not as hard on the amplifier. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching

      @@Audiolympian thx for your reply, what do you mean with the amps voltage

    • @Audiolympian
      @Audiolympian  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@anjovandijk9797 you’re welcome. Amps have different voltage which is the true source of power it’s going to push. Sometimes it’s listed on the amp but usually listed in the manuals. It might push 60 volts - 100 volts. That’s more important than watts. You can have an amp listed at 400 wpc but only push 50 volts. So it still won’t be that powerful. You can have a $3,000 amp rated at 150 watts but it pushes 100 volts. Hence the cost on a relatively low wattage amp and it’s considered a high end value. That’s why judging amps performance purely on wattage is not the best strategy
