    I calked in Plexiglas on 3 sides of my screen encloser instead. :)

    I used plexiglass on the back and Coloplast on the sides. It works well. Tx for the great idea!

    I love this! I never even knew the window film was a thing - hope it’s available in the UK too. I want to use the expanding foam for a realistic background on my screen cage, I wonder if the same material you used here would be ok.

    Just what I was looking for. Tx

    I might try window film inside to foam spray the sides. I want to create a false background for all three sides.

    I’ve been thinking about using some sort of hydrophobic mesh to keep the mist in but it’s hard to find one that’s not too fine so my chameleon can still climb on it and one that doesn’t use a chemical coating to make it hydrophobic.

    I just got my first Cham 🤍 I have a mister & fogger & struggled to keep the humidity up his first night home. I’m going to get the window film , so thankful for this video!! Just clarifying, 1 window kit will be enough for the entire cage ?

      each window kit will say how much area it will cover so you just make sure it is enough. But, most kits will cover way more than one cage requires.

    Love this idea! I have False chameleons for now and they're great. But I plan to own a true chameleon in the not too distant future to one day feature on my channel. Now I live is South Texas, specifically San Antonio, and out weather is mostly, if not always, dry regardless of the season. I believe that nothing beats the Sun in terms of the full spectrum and prevention of MBD and such. Obviously, any tropical herp I keep outdoors during spring and summer months should have the proper parameters and humidity. That said, would you have any recommendations or advice for any of us keepers who live in drier states that plan to keep our herps outside while weather permits? Of course, been doing my homework for months and still am to this day before I can own. I plan on building an wooden enclosure (plus the stuff to keep my wood sealed and protected from the elements) that is set on coaster wheels to roll in and out my house, and it will be bioactive for the most part.
    But yeah, to make it short, I'm looking for advice from those who know their stuff to further help prepare me for what I'll be getting myself into one day.
    Thanks, and keep up the good work!

    Hello, I really appreciate all of the details and information in your videos. But I’m having some trouble visualizing the door. I’m imagining the top 3/4ths of the front will be the sealed off door with either vinyl or another material to keep the humidity in. And then would the bottom 1/4th of the tank be screen for ventilation and the chimney effect? Wouldn’t substrate leak through the screen material if that’s the case? Thank you!

    I’m setting up a new cage for my Cham soon and I plan to use coroplast on the sides and back since it’s a screen cage. I think my best bet is to Velcro it on because sometimes in the summer when the humidity is high I need to open one of the sides.

    Do you sell the mister wedge to go on the screen cage? I just ordered your dragon ledges for my new cage and I meant to order the mister wedge but forgot and I can’t find a place to order it separately on your site.

    What about polycarbonate?

    • @ChameleonAcademy
      @ChameleonAcademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure! If that is what you have around. Most anything solid will work.
