This is the cleanest FXR that I’ve ever seen. The FXR is by far the best bike that Harley ever made.
SO HOW MUCH?
I literally just got one of these from the local dealership missing the pack saddle bags and fairing, love the paint I’m definitely gonna bring it back to this look.
I had that exact bike it came with fairing lowers and a dresser style exhaust with mufflers on each side. I put over 60,000 miles on it and had a custom trailer hitch made and pulled a small cargo trailer all over north America. Did not realize how great it was and traded it in for a 95 Electra glide beautiful bike!
My Dad had a blue/gray one with a hot cam & a Mikuni. I took it to Sturgis in 90 & with a little weight in the tour pack it was easy to put a lot more miles on the rear tire than the front lol.
I have one of these 1986 in probably same condition. My friend purchased it new in 1986 and babied it. He passed away a year ago and willed the bike to me.
What a gem,... an absolute diamond of a bike. The FXR frame was the best, hands down. I have a 90FXRS, with 42,000 on it,... and i still get asked what year it is, just about every time I take it out. I've made the bike "my own". I reside in Ct,..and I've been to your museum a few months after the grand opening, AWESOME, no doubt, hands down you will be the BIGGEST motorcycle museum in the world.! I'll have to take a ride up next spring on my FXRS to have you look at it.

I actually had the Candy blue and slate gray version of this motorcycle. Someone either switched out the bags on this bike or the wrong ones were put on at the factory. Because the FXRD saddlebags had a decal that stated Harley Davidson grand touring edition USA on them. You can verify this by looking at any Google photos of that model and every FXRD on there has what I’m telling you. The bags that were on the spike in this video or for the FXRT models
The RD has an EH in the VIN on the frame, it states that in the service manual. I have and am the original owner of one of the 318 BlackBerry models. Candy Burgundy is 278, Candy Blue is 396 made
I have a 1982 FXR 1982 FXRS 1983 FXRT and a 1984FXRT ..
The 83 is a one-year only.. last year of the shovelhead FXR and first year of the FXRT...
