@Jarrod'sTech I usually do 3d work and rendering in the Archviz area. I have one 27inch monitor at work and I always thought that having more screen real estate would increase my workflow much better as i always shift through different programs and i decided to go with 34inch ultrawide monitor for my home setup. I thought that i could use it to display two programs side by side and i could not have been more wrong. It just looked not right so I am deciding to go with dual monitor setup. I am considering the 27 inch Dell Ultrasharp U2719d. I probably don't need two high end monitor but I really like their design and i want the monitors to match. What do you suggest, are there any better alternative for my setup. I don't game that much. I'm interested in getting at least 1440p and 27inch or you think i should go with the 24 inch. I could compromise on the identical dual monitors. Does having two different monitor bother you much? and if you could afford would you go with same monitor as your main monitor?

Update, I decided to go with dual dell ultrasharp U2419h as I often feel that the 27inch monitor at work seemed too big for my taste

I think they can be good for productivity , but I don’t like those bezels for gaming - that’s ultrawide territory ✌️ I prefer just a single 16:9 myself, that’s what almost everything is formatted for.

Having two monitors is very nice for productivity.
However in my case having two monitors (one main and one at side) gives neck pain and makes me dizzy after some time of constant use.
So, I have a second monitor, but it is mainly switched off and I only attach the cables when I really need it.

When talking about multi monitor, we have to bear in mind with Windows 10 issues when setting different Scaling factor on each monitor..
Basically we have to have the same scaling and resolution on each monitor in order to achieve trouble free (no blurry texts, icon, etc..) in Windows 10..
    I have a 4K laptop and 4K external monitor, that's why I know this..

I love my Duel monitor setup, I don’t think I will ever use 3 because 2 is just perfect. I have my main monitor which is a 27” 144hz 1Ms gaming monitor by HP and then a cheap dell one on the left. I use the cheap dell one for TH-cam, discord, streaming and so much more while I game or do some work on my main one. I did some experiential work like watching yt and gaming and yes, ur FPS will drop... on division 2, it’s know for a long play through game that doesn’t need to hear in game sounds. So I watch TH-cam and listen to music. Well the FPS I gotten before duel monitors was around 150 on ultra setting. After watching a little TH-cam video on 1080p, it dropped it to 50fps... kinda scary tbh. But it’s your GPU putting in a lot of work so. But I do love the look and productivity with this amazing setup

I use a single 25 inch ultrawide with a resolution of 2560x1080. I use it primarily for gaming, but the reason I use an ultrawide is so that I have more screen real estate for when I am working and require multitasking. A single widescreen monitor also makes it easier for me to "dock" my laptop so I can easily switch between it and my pc. It has served me well for 3.5 years but I'm planning on replacing it with a 34 inch monitor with a resolution of 3440x1440 in the near future

i think its useful for students studying stuff like engineering and stuff like that because they can use the main (higher fps/hz) monitor on gaming and engineering work and use the 2nd one for spotify but even youtubers have 2 monitors for discord and stream chats so it just depends on what you need it for you shouldn't go out your way on spending a second monitor unless there's more than 2 reasons to but yeah using a higher refresh rate monitor for main is a good thing because you can always use the less demanding monitor for things like online shopping. listening to music, discord watching videos as if said and its good to have a second monitor if you want to buy a small console like a switch or Xbox series s while having your pc running

I used to work with 2 monitors from my previous job, they were great and now my new job since it works with one monitor, (which is a laptop and a small screen) I felt like I missed a second for other tasks. Due to the job positions being at Work from Home, I had to use my first Viewsonic 19 inch 1366 x 768, as a second monitor, it helped a lot between that laptop with 1080p but hard to read due to it's small screen. Now I bought an LG 22 inch 1080, and both monitors are 75hz all for my personal and work, so it's much better to me imo. One is IPS and other is TN, it doesn't really matter aside the fact that it definitely has boosted productivity for me.

I am using dual 24" monitors here, and the difference is indeed night and day coming from a single screen! For an ultrawide to fill the same need, it would have to be divided into two "virtual desktop" spaces, with a boundary down the middle emulating dual monitors. Otherwise, manually moving around custom-sized windows would be a big annoyance. Maybe there is a software that can do this?
I almost always just pop a maximized window into each half of the desktop space.

I have had 2 monitors for 10+ years now and i'm mainly a WoW player, and that game is played in Window mode so 2 monitors is perfect. But 1 month ago I bought a fairly new second hand High End AMD Gaming PC with a 6700XT Red Devil, I had big issue up on big issue for 3 weeks with this PC, after fixing many of them I just had one issue left randomly getting Black screen a few days every day. went so far that the second monitor stopped working at all got no power at all. So i just started using 1 monitor and it fixed everything.
So after 10+ years i'm pretty much forced to use 1 monitor :/ but a new AMD Driver came out a few days ago that should fix the monitor problem tho, today people saying you should only use DDU to uninstall drivers and i have never used it and is very worried that something bad will happend, I feel like i have mini PTSD with all these problems so I just stick with 1 monitor for now :/

One suggestion: use one of them in portrait mode. My company laptop has a 14-inch screen which is too small even for a prison window. So I have 2 15.6-inch portable monitors because my job calls for it, I almost always use one them in portrait mode right next to my company laptop, and the other will be either in portrait or landscape depending on the content that I’m working on. Say if I have to paraphrase 2 documents into a new one, then both of them will be in portrait because word documents are usually printed in A4 portrait. If I’m converting a document into a flow chart, then 1 portrait for documents 1 landscape for flowcharts. For you, if the monitor on the left is in portrait than everything closer to you peripheral vision. Dual monitors are terrible for wide screen gaming anyway, so jagged setup won’t hurt.
